thanks everyone. I'll be off to Whistler next month, then Kyoto (for the cherry blossoms) in March. Not sure where thereafter until summer which includes --I am NOT kidding --- the following destinations: Chicago, NY, possibly Philly, Copenhagen, Oslo, St Petersburg and all over Scandinavia, then Venice and back home. I'm thinking I might pause while in St Petersburg -- so excited to see it --and Venice, which I love. Then again Sweet Home Chicago in the summer means another possible LH gig (PLEASE a family show) and the Cubbies, with my 2nd favourite player, Alfonso Soriano, now on the team. Exhausting but fun.

Great pics in Japan, chk! You really are jetsetting around, aren't you! I'm not sure I really know what it is you do? Are you a writer for a magazine?

CHK- I'll second that LH international ambassador! Thank you for the beautiful pics. I haven't been to Asia for over 25 years but when looking at your pics I felt like I was right back there. Cherry Blossoms in Kyoto - I'm so jealous!! Enjoy all your travels.

Thanks all. I have been missing so much lately, I should have my pic on the side of a milk carton with the words "have you seen this traveling gnome?"
Yes, HY, I am a journalist, and I write for newspapers and mags in the US and Asia. It really does give me access to interesting people. If only I had known about mclh sooner -- all the people I have met over the years who could have wristbands... George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bjorn Borg, Karl Lagerfeld, Andy Warhol (ok that was a while ago), Denzel Washington.... Oh well, we musn't have regrets. As MC would say, it's all about moving forward.

Kung hei fat choi -- happy new Year to everyone and welcome to the year of the pig. It's meant to be auspicious and I understand that lots of babies are expected this year. In fact, my family welcomed a little one two days ago -- so hurrah --another gorgeous nephew for me! Of course I missed the big day as I was flying across the Pacific. Here are some wristband shots and a few touristy ones just cause I love Vancouver. Speaking of Vancouver, the city will host the 2010 Winter Olympics so I took the opportunity to get some odd wristband pix. Here it is on a bobsleigh (next to the red ring, naturally) in Whistler: They also have a podium you can stand on. Here's the wristband on the Gold Medal podium. And here it is at the beautiful totem poles in Stanley Park, Vancouver: Here are a coupla beauty shots of the city. Just love it, eh.

Just thought I'd share the crazy thing that happened today. Downloaded the visa application from the Russian Consulate and one of the questions says "list every country you have been in over the last ten years and the year you were there." I honestly cannot figure out how to do that and will need to request extra paper. It also says I should list "All educational institutions ever attended except for high school". Damn, and I got all A's during high school!
