I'll never forget when I was 10 years old and my grandmother sent me money to buy furniture for my dollhouse. I ended up spending the money on Shaun Cassidy posters instead, hung them all over my walls, and kissed them every night before bed. Really.

OMG! This thread is too funny. Yup, had the Bay City Rollers and Shaun Cassidy posters from Tiger Beat on my bedroom wall. And get this, I even entered my grade school talent contest and lip-synced to S.C.'s version of "Da Doo Run Run"...my mom tried to hip me to the fact that there was a girl band version from when she was a kid that might be more appropriate for me to sing too, but uh uh, no way, I was singing along with Shaun! I wore my yellow butterfly angel shirt and red sequined bellbottoms just for that special event.
Oh, the memories. Now, I'm still wearing bellbottoms and breaking out in the scary conductor in the middle of the grocery store just cause Marty's voice starts jangling around in my head.
Thank you Marty for helping me keep the kid inside alive and dancing!

I was "born too late" for the Shaun Cassidy thing, but I remember my sister had his "Born Too Late" poster on her bedroom wall. I did have Baby City Rollers knee socks, though. They were screen-printed with a patchwork design and photos of the Rollers. I was only 6 but I felt SO cool in those socks. I can totally relate to Sweetcheeks. I LOVED John Taylor! I bought every magazine he was in. Then I went through an Andrew McCarthy phase. (He was dreamy.) I also loved David Bowie (still do, actually). I feel like I'm 14 again. I'll admit it, if someone told me there was a new issue of Tiger Beat with Marty on the cover, I'd tell my secretary to hold all my calls so I could run out and buy it right away. Then, (since I'm a grown-up and don't have a locker) I'd cut out all the pictures and tape them up under my desk (where no one could see them but me). I could eat my lunch under there.

Wow...I had a Shaun Cassidy album with lipstick all over the cover from me kissing it...and there was that Hardy Boys episode where his girlfriend gets killed and it's all done in flashbacks...I would cry and my two older brothers still give me crap about that, but i was just a kid. The first real crush that made me was Rick Springfield. Back when he was Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital. Me again. I just read the above quote and wow! did it bring back memories. I loved Dr. Noah Drake. Does anyone else remember the General Hospital song? It was sort of a rap song. I still remember some of the lyrics... My favourite line was, "Paging Dr. Noah Drake to ICU to treat a case of heartbreak!" Another verse went like this: "But Jeff wants Annie for his wife, but he might have to wait all of his life, 'cuz good girls don't and Annie won't, and you all know what I mean..." ;D I remember a line in the chorus too: "I just can't cope, without my soap!" I LOVED that song. I sat by the radio for hours waiting for it to be played so I could tape it on my new portable cassette player. I was only 12; my musical tastes have definitely evolved. P.S. Does anyone remember the TV movie Shaun Cassidy starred in? He played a mentally challenged guy who fell in love and wanted his parents to give him some independence. I remember a scene in an elevator where he said, "I know what is right, and I know what is wrong. I have done nothing wrong." We rolled on the floor laughing at it. My sister loved him, but even she had to admit that he was really bad in that role.

I remember Shaun Cassidy but I wasn't goo-goo over him. I was probably 7 when he was popular. Really don't remember much but his doo-run-run song. I listened to all sorts of music when I was younger. Music my parents loved, my brothers, and of course my own. I was into many bands in the 80's but was still a kid. I loved The Cure and wanted to marry Robert Smith. I had a major crush on Corey Hart when I was 14. I loved Duran-Duran too. B52's, U2, Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, and many more. I just love music. I just can't believe that I've turned into a crazy lovestruck starstruck 31 year old "teenager" over Marty. He transcends so much sexual energy when he performs and I think that's the energy people are catching. I don't know if he even realizes it. I just can't wait to watch him and his band live in concert, front row. I probably be screaming and jumping most of the time. All I can say is that Marty Casey, as a performer, hottie of a man, simply takes my breath away. If he only knew me...and marry me....ha ha.

Shaun Cassidy? I can somewhat relate to what you mean by having the hots for Marty by comparing the 2. It was Jon Bon Jovi for me back in the 80's. However he doesn't even compare to what Marty does for me now. I am constantly checking the internet for news, listening to his RSINXS songs and LH songs, watching the DVD. It's obsession I tell ya but I having these feelings again!

ROFL! Donny Osmond, Shaun Cassidy, Duran, Bay City Rollers, Rex Smith - I bet Marty would love to hear about my wonderful taste in music.
I've been trying to listen to new music lately. I enjoy all sorts of music as long as it's prior to 1990. Anything after that I've never heard. I hardly knew any of the songs Marty sang but I loved them anyway.
Every time I hear the Killer's I think - too much music not enough vocals. Marty definitely did the right thing by bringing it down to one guitar and his wonderful voice.

Oh my this brings it all crashing back! There is a photo out there of Marty that I call his Tiger Beat pin up. If I was able I would post it (clueless on that stuff) Cute picture if anyone has it, Marty is wearing a black shirt open with tan flowers or something down the front and he's outside by palms all smiles. Very Shaun Cassidy/ Leaf Garrettish. I had my first crush on Shaun in fourth grade and even took my album in for Show and Tell. Some other girl brought hers too and the teacher let us each chose a song from our own record to be fair. So funny that I remember that after all this years. Kind of fell that way about Marty only the music is a much bigger factor now. LOL. (look I used the chat lingo so proud of me) A 8 year old crush at 30 something! no wonder I've been feeling so happy lately!

Please don't compare Marty to those as*clowns. Mig is the one that reminded me of a teen idol. That's probably why I detested him and his music so much.

i gotta agree about Mig being teen-idoly although I didn't detest him or anyone on the show, just thought he was all teeth and hair, not much else.

Oh Gawd No! LOL! I was not intending to compare Marty with those boys just the Teen Idol style photo. Which is the only one I have seen that makes me think that way. And of course the crushy feeling I remember having for them. Very out of character for this 30ish girl. I have a much better appreciation for the music and talent now than when I was 8, I hope. No accounting for taste back then. I also like the fact that Marty is a grown up and not some pretty little boy because that would just make me a dirty old lady.

I remember Shaun Cassidy and for some strange reason I also remember Bobby Sherman. I was little when it came to Bobby. My mother was into Bobby. I have always loved my rock music. My mother thought me to be odd. While my girlfriends were hanging Donny Osmond on their walls, I was hanging Alice Cooper or Ted Nugent on my walls. I never got into the Do Run Run. But I do remember those days. Thanks for the memories.
