Ew, don't make me any more glad I was three when the 80s went out. There was some good stuff going on in the 80's, just not necessarily the mainstream. I was big into the Replacements, U2, Police, old REM.... REM is so-so...Love U2 and Police.

Ah....Replacements!! And old REM!!! So true! My sis went to U of G and REM was huge there before they hit big-time.
I am trying to remember the name of that band...2 guys...who did the song "Shout, Shout, let it all out. These are things I am talking about. So come on, I'm talking to you. Come on." Who was that?!
Oh, and 2 classic songs from the '80's....99 red Balloons and Come on Eileen!!!!

Oh, and I absolutely LOVE old U2 and Police. I still have an image of U2's War album on the wall of the record store...with that black and white shot of the kid. And even old bootlegs from pub's in Ireland.

i went to Tulane U and graduated in 82. The graduating class had a party on the big riverboat down there- ya know the Natchez...the one that's always pictured. They hired a band to play. Guess who?

Sitting in lawn chairs with tanning oil on with our feet in a kiddie pool sipping wine coolers. Oh, and yes, I was underage.
