[/IMG] I hope you are having a great day, my sis is in the UK, she lives there now, but is coming home for 5 weeks in February, I can't wait to see her, we are going to see SNOW PATROL together on Feb 20th. She lives in Coventry (I think), anywhere near you? Helen [/IMG]
Hi Aussiefan. I'm in Bristol, so yeah, quite a way from Coventry. Snow Patrol are cool & pretty huge over here. I have noticed there have been a few times that I (& others) have said what they should be doing! ;D ;D ;D It's the fact that you girls are all so welcoming it makes us not want to do the things that we're "supposed to". ;D

Looks like I have missed everyone. Just logging in to let Jet know that DVD came in the post today! OMG Jet you are bloody awesome!! It's friggin fantastic. The editing was superb and it was really hilarious. I was chuckling and laughing out loud in turns with Mr. T hovering in the background. I love all the episodes and photos...it brings back such good memories. I miss you all...seems like only yesterday when we in Melbourne. By the way, Den was it your camera that took the piccie of us in the Playboy shop? I don't have the piccie on my camera...was wondering whether you had it. Ok, gotta go keep the DVD under lock and key now...cos what happens in Melbourne stays in Melbourne eh?

[/IMG] Here's to Good Health as well for all. Wishing our next Street Teaming effort will be perhaps at a rock concert and not at ANY hospitals. ....Although 2006 has some wonderful memories....lemonaide from lemons. [/IMG] Den
Hope you don't mind a non-Aussie posting here. Nice to see you're no longer considered "newbies." So, is this where one goes to be cured of Marty Obsessions? Or, do all the doctors look like Marty here?

None of the doctors that I saw there looked even remotely like Marty....and as you can see Helen is still here....sooooooooooo, I think the answer is....Nope! There is no cure. I've always thought that the Aussie thread was in the Newbie section because it was meant for everyone to hang out ..... visiting with old friends and making new friends. I think there are more non-aussies that stop by than Aussies. That is what is great about the internet. We are all MC.orgers....the miles that separate us disappear here. Den

I'm headin' over there right now. [/IMG] Den
I think it is about time the board get's a taste of Aussies musical talent. I love Wolfmother!! Any other music to share? please post. [/IMG] Star
Hi Starcrossed, That's exactly how we ended up having a CD exchange. Helen and some of the other Aussies would talk about the music that they were listening to and I did not have a clue who the bands were so when the signed copy of MCLH came out and they were not available to overseas fans, I offered to send them LH music and they in turn sent me their favorite CDs from home. It's hard to pick favorites. Here's a few of mine. Eskimo Joe: www.myspace.com/eskimojoemusicEskimo Joe is a Melbourne band (Toby Rand is from Melbourne). Their CD Black Fingernails Red Wine reminds us of course of Marty Jet - great band from Melbourne that have had hits in the states. I have several of their CDs www.myspace.com/jet Living End -Another band out of Melbourne (no wonder Aussies love their Altern. Music....it's in the air there. www.myspace.com/thelivingend Evermore: www.myspace.com/evermore Evermore I dearly love. They are 3 talented brothers from New Zealand and now are in Australia. Their Grandparents live very close to Vulcanet. Alex Lloyd: Peeks introduced me to Alex Lloyd. I have several of his CDs. www.myspace.com/alexlloyd Grinspoon www.myspace.com/grinspoon If you like acoustic guitar, which I dearly love there is another Aussie artist that is just starting out in the music industry. He is working on his first CD to be released later this year. His name is Chris Byrne and you can download his songs for free at his MySpace. My favorites are Don't Pray for Me and Glide. He is a sweetheart. He just had a little baby boy Sacha in October and is a very proud dad and husband. www.myspace.com/chrisbyrnemusic Well, that's just a start. Time for me to head back for some Zzzzzzzz....I was just letting out my dog Oscar. He's so demanding....lol. Lot's of great Aussie Music to enjoy. It's not always easy to get the CDs so when you read that we are sending each others "pressies" many times its music.....crazy how the music industry works. I can't buy from Aussie Itunes and they can't buy from U.S. Itunes. Sometimes I luck out and Amazon has some of the artists for sale as imports. Den

Thank you dlh!! I will check out the different sites. I agree with you about the industry. It would be so much better, if anyone could by music from anyplace - no strange boundries.

Hey Star, I found that doc in....La La Land of course I guess we'll always have Grey's Anatomy for good looking docs. Yeah the Aussies have some great music...I have the Evermore CD, bought it when I was in Melbourne to meet up with the girls. Alas, I still haven't found time to give it a listen. I actually meant to buy Eskimo Joe's CD Black Fingernails Red Wine but somehow got the two bands mixed up and ended up with Evermore. So now I've got to go see if Singapore has stocked up on Eskimo Joe.

Gaia If that's what your doctor looks like, I'm on the first flight to Singapore with a medical text book on hand. I'll be able to come up with enough symptoms to keep him busy for years! ;D ;D Better watch out girl, hide that DVD well, Mr T might go snooping when you're not home. Helen I've got everything crossed for Epic & Wendy GOOD LUCKDen Did you say Peeks and Hawaii in the same sentence?? I think you should add Jet, Palari and Ing to that...how does August sound? Your grandsons are gorgeous Star Eskimo Joe are a really good listen and Grinspoon is awesome to if you like something a little heavier yet lots of fun.
