He goes back and forth. He gets really nervous about new things, so I haven't been making too big a deal about it. But this morning, he wanted to wear his backpack over to daycare to show his daycare provider, so that's a good sign! And he even let me take pics of him with it on. Well that's good he was excited about the backpack and everything Penny. I'm sure the nervousness will subside once he gets there and starts making friends and having fun. Awww...that's rough about your son, 4. Poor thing. Hopefully it won't take too long for him to get adjusted and feel like he fit in. Its never easy changing schools.

I stopped at saw Polar at work a few weeks ago. Looks like she likes her job. My son was not so excited about Jr. High - we just switched him from a small private school to public school and it was a big adjustment. Plus it was hard because he didn't know anyone. He ate lunch alone the first week which broke my heart. Yesterday, he walked home (for the first time) with a friend and stopped and had ice cream on the way home. Makes me feel better! See, that's the kind of stuff that makes me panic. What if he doesn't make any friends? Will there be a bully who is mean to him? I would cry. I'm glad your son is making friends, 4. Same just happened to my son, PLUS he gets to switch schools again in December when we move to Ohio! Poor kids ...middle school is so hard. The lunchroom worries are enough to make me vomit daily.

Yo Mommas! Pen, my sister is pregnant, is due today...we thought she (baby) might come for Bobby K. or Chi's b'day, but I guess she's smart and is waiting for yours! 9/9 is a cool birthday. Too funny, HY!

Hi OTB!
My dad can't wait until I'm moved out permanently. He's counting down the days.

It gets easier Penny!
My daughter on the other hand loves the public school system. She came home from school on the first day and announced that she made 6 new best friends.
Plus she joined the tennis club, the running club, is running for student council. signed up for violin lessons and a Catalina Island Science Trip.
I guess she wants to experience everything they have to offer.

He is quieter and sensitive. Now I'm getting teary again.

Me too...but I swear they do better than we do with them starting school. Though my little guy lst week turned to me with tears in his eyes, and told me he didn't want to go to school because he was going to miss spending time with me. Just rips a mom's heart out, you know?

But it is hard when they are just starting out. You feel so bad for them if they don't make friends right away. Some just take longer than others.

Sorry to make you teary Penny.
Our kids sound a lot alike in personality. Quiet, sensitive son... Loud, outgoing daugther.
Funny how they can be so different from each other. We raised them the same - right?

He said, "I have lots of favorites! Finding fossils, watching movies, playing pirates, and cuddling in mommy's arms." Oh the tears.

Now I'm teary eyed after reading back a bit. Hugs to all the moms whose kids are growing up.
