Ok - I don't get it. I've been to the Harborfest website and I don't see the Lovehammers listed.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Me too. I've been looking for it as well. Racine is not that far out of Chicago. Definitely do-able. Just want to confirm.

I agree-- no LH listed in Racine festival. Where did this info come from? Can we get a confirmation from Dino?

hey jomarti, linda and hammeredinminn, we only put gigs on the home page that have been confirmed one way or another to Amy/Cindy. I am confident that this is correct info. If anything changes, we'll let you know right away.

Chk is right. As this is on the mc.org home page, it is a confirmed event! Therefore, I am going to move this to Tour Towns & Ticket Exchange. (I'm also going to change the name of the thread a bit to give more info.) See you all in Racine! www.harborfest.org/

I just received an email from the person in charge of programming for Harborfest. He said they were unable to confirm Marty because he wanted to finish the INXS tour before committing to anything else.

Sometimes Epic is slow to post upcoming events on Lovehammers.com, but Marty wants his site to have the most current info possible. So we are kept in the loop whenever there is a confirmed event.
I have confirmed that this is on the books for the Lovehammers as a "confirmed" date. I don't know why there is conflicting information from the event staff.

How exciting! Now how do we find out what time??? Yeah, time would definitely be good information! This looks to be about an hour outside (north) of Chicago, is that right? So, Chicagoans, if I am coming from S. Illinois on I-55 or I-57, do I just then get on 94 and take that to Racine? And is there some secret to bypass Chicago traffic? Also, anyone have any suggestions about hotels and/or camping in the Racine area? Oh my, I'm getting that I-must-be-crazy-but-I'm-excited-anyway feeling!

I just emailed the program director for the fest to ask about times. I'll post here whatever I find out.

I think that is the way.....traffic will be kind of ugly since it is a Friday....depends on what time you leave also. It is maybe an hour and 1/2 from Chicago.

Hey, I am far from a Piggly store-- anyone doing a mass buy and send? Let me know! Thanks in advance! Sharon Sharon, I have a friend that lives in Burlington. I could probably talk him into buying us tickets and mailing them to me;) I think I'll wait to buy any until I at least see it on the Harborfest website and check out the time they are playing. Plus, I think we have plenty of time to buy tickets for this event.

Here is some hotel info for Racine. I am not recommending these hotels one way or the other, they are just some of closest ones that came up in a map seach:
Radisson Inn Harbourwalk 223 Gas Light Cir, Racine, WI 0.3 mi N - (262) 632-7777 *This one is already booked up* Lochnaiar Inn 1121 Lake Ave, Racine, WI 0.6 mi S - (262) 633-3300 Days Inn 3700 Northwestern Ave, Racine, WI 2.7 mi NW - (262) 637-9311 *Chi and I have a reservation at this hotel. The hotel has said that it will provide its own shuttle to and from the fest.* Microtel Inn & Suites 5419 Durand Ave, Racine, WI 3.9 mi SW - (262) 554-8855
Fairfield Inn 6421 Washington Ave, Racine, WI 4.0 mi W - (262) 886-5000 Comfort Inn 1154 Prairie Dr., Racine, WI 4.4 mi W - (262) 886-6117 Racine Marriott 7111 Washington Ave, Racine, WI 4.4 mi W - (262) 886-6100 Knights Inn 1149 Oakes Rd, Racine, WI 4.5 mi W - (262) 886-6667
Again, I don't know anything about any of these hotels, so I recommend looking into them before making a reservation. But this list might serve as a starting point for some of you and should contain hotels in different price ranges. Remember that the fest will have a free shuttle running to and from the downtown area. Check with your hotel to see if it is on the shuttle route.
