Well we got to Blueberry Hill around 6:30 or so just to hang out grab something to eat and have a few drinks. Of course anyone that was there could tell you, a seat was hard to come by so we ended up at the bar over on the Elvis Room side. We are sitting there and noticed someone getting into the booth behind us and of course there they were all four of the LH sitting there. My wife saw who was there and just turned around and said hey I got a question for you. And before she could ask how the hell they managed to get a seat that quick, Billy just looked at her and said 9-inches!!
I was very impressed that those that walked and recognized who was sitting there would just be saying hey did you see who was sitting there and move on without bothering them so they could relax and eat before the show. I only saw 2 people actually go right up to the table and start talking away and one of them had them all sign something. But it’s great to know that all the LH fans showed them so much respect while they were out in the open eating.
The opening band was (hopefully I have this correct) Melody Groove & the Movement and they weren’t too bad. After a few songs though I kept looking at my watch just waiting for them to finish so we could get the LH out there.
The guys were amazing!!!! Straight out of the backroom they hit it hard and never stopped. In a way it was kind of funny to watch Marty up there because you could tell that he just wanted to hang from something or run around as much as possible. He did manage to run out around the crowd at one point and when he was onstage I was just waiting for him to forget that the beam was just above him and knock himself out. Especially after he told us he had done that before.
We of course all got to sing Happy Birthday to Billy and Marty promised that they would all be nice to him for the 24 hours of his b-day. Everyone was taking pictures with their cameras and camera phones and someone was taking some video. At one point I dialed my daughters number and just held the phone up and later got a text message saying how cool that was and that they sounded great. They did a couple of amazing acoustic sets and 2 encores, at least one of which was planned, I’m not sure if the second one really was or not but we will take as many as they are willing to give us. When they came out for I think the first encore Marty asked if there was anything we wanted to hear. Damn it, I should have said yelled Over & Out because I don’t recall it being played. Here is what I can remember about the play list but I know some of it is out of order and some of it could be wrong.

After they were finished playing probably more than half of the people left and the rest of us stayed around down stairs waiting for the band to come out. They finally did and were signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone. After about 5 or 10 mins they announced they had to close the Duck Room down and we all needed to at least go upstairs. Of course no one listened so the guy went straight up to Marty and told him they had to close the place. We all headed up stairs and right along with us was Marty. I never did see Billy, Bobby or Dino come upstairs. So there we were waiting in line to talk to Marty and I must say that guy is amazing. You could tell he was a little wore out but there he was talking to everyone that came up to him, signing autographs and taking pictures with them. Just being as nice as ever and genuinely appreciating the fans. And for us my wife asked him to sign the back of the tour t-shirt so we could send it to my daughter in El Paso for her 16th b-day. He very willingly did so, he signed it “Amber, Happy Sweet 16, Wish You Were Here, Marty Casey! She is going to love it, THANKS MARTY!!!
I don’t think I have gone more than 24 hours without listening to something by the LH and I must say they have to be my all time favorite band!!! I can't wait to see them a few more times on the tour.
