I understand the shock and hurt everyone is feeling about Marty leaving the Lovehammers so suddenly and unexpectedly but some of the reactions from the so called "fans for life" or people who are supposed to be loyal fans amazes me.
Those of you that are acting like its the end of the world really need to stop and think for a minute. This is Marty's life!! It is his decision to decide what direction he wants to go in. If you refuse to want to even give him and LA Guns a chance then you aren't true fans of Marty.
There is alot of hurt going around now, but let it sink in awhile before you speak. This is not a bad thing. Yes, i feel so sorry for Bobby, Dino and Billy, but they will move on. Lovehammers were only a PART of their life. Music IS Marty's life. Give the guy a break and cut him some slack.

nice post! I love LH and also LA Guns!! The LH are not split up! I do not know how it can be hurt on the rest of the LH's since they are childhood chums and Jeremy (the bass player for LA guns) is a very close friend of the band, esp Bobby and Dino...Jeremy has played with the LH on stage dozens of times, and also was the LH merch dude/runner on the INXS tour ....I think that the opportunity arose and so Marty decided to "go for it" with full support of his bandmates!!! I expected a lot of people to freak out about this. Esp since LA Guns is about as far from the LH you can get really. LA guns sing about Sex, drugs, rock and roll and booze and vampires and loose women (S.E.X. Action is a title of one of their songs). I have seen LA guns 8 times before, and so I know they are different to the LH. But I think Marty will be awesome. Esp singing the slower songs. The Ballad of Jayne (a tribute to the late Jayne Mansfield) is a beautiful song....
I am looking forward to hearing the material that Marty helped write.....
Take Care....

Talk about a shift in direction?!?!?! I'm seriously befuddled.

i wont stop supporting marty! i love marty to death but i just cant get over the fact that this was sooo sudden and so unexpected... i never said i wouldnt give him the chance and i respect his decision to move and grow with his music.
but lhfan you cant say that music isnt the other guys life if you dont know that 100%!!!! yeah marty maybe a little more into it then them but those other guys also worked hard and put a lot of effort into lh!
and yeah the direction he is taking is something completely different then what lh has done before... and i dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing right now all we can do is wait and see.

what i was trying to say about music being Marty's life is plain and simple, he wants to be a musician 100%, he wants that to be his life, you don't know what the other guys want, I mean Billy has a wife and kids, Dino has a kid, they all probably have regular jobs aside from LH, i mean its not clear to me what they want, but its very clear what Marty wants, that is why he left the band for awhile to do Rockstar, Marty wants to be a full fledged musician, its not clear to me personally if the rest of the band wants that or not.
And as for it being unexpected, maybe to us his fans it was. I'm sure it was a shock to the rest of LH, but Marty did talk to them before making his decision. But look at all the side projects Marty has been doing in his regular day to day life that not all of us know about. (solo gigs, writing music for other people) The signs were there.....
He should be free to do what he wants, not what some of us may want him to do. It is his life afterall.

i know its his life but i just dont want him to be without the lovehammers. i would have rather marty went solo for awhile instead of joining another band... a band he had no part in starting

....I think that the opportunity arose and so Marty decided to "go for it" with full support of his bandmates!!! .... This is news to me...Bobby said in his post that he was as "shocked"as the rest of us and I think Dan's avatar says it all. Marty can do what he wants with his life but let's stop the excuses...it was the way he did it that sucked with LH's having their own plans for this year. Modified to add: I was a LH's fan for life...not a Marty fan, maybe that's the difference.

I think we all need to sit tight and see what's coming down the pipe for both the Guns and Lovehammers. We don't know if this is a temporary situation or what. Marty didn't say LH was breaking up or that he was leaving them, just that he was joining another band, one that happens to have a good friend of his on bass. I think no one really knows just what is going on-this was all very sudden for just about everyone involved.
I'm not saying people can't be shocked, surprised, angry, pissed, whatever you happen to be feeling, but I think we all need to sit tight and wait for more information before we pass judgment on this situation. Both bands haven't said too much about the whole situation, so I think we, as fans, should wait for more information about the directions the bands, especially the Lovehammers, are headed.

Yes, there's not much more we can do is there love your avi, 'lv2be' your dog is soo cute!. this is what i wrote on another thread: I aggre with both of you, this is about marty, and his chioce to grow. and im happy he can do it. And i agree and disagree that this isnt about us the fans, first and foremost this is about the MUSIC. Its what brings s all togther, its how we found each other right now. Lovehammers changed my life with there music, kindness, attitudes, and spunk for life. The guys seemed so perfect together. I dont know what im ging to do without LH music, i dont feel a conncetion with other music like i do with LH music. And dino bob, and billy seemed surprised as hell about this, someone got their wires crossed. all i know is my favorite band is no more. Lovehammers started my love for music andl live music for me, and its so dissapointing for me to think that the band that has done so much for me, i may not hear then live agian. The band that has inspred and motovated me for soooo long is gone, done, maybe for good. I have invested so much time, emotion and money going to concerts, promoting, getting the LH name out there, and the rug has been pulled out from underneath. and now im no longer needed. I feel empty, like i lost my best freind (and i know how that feels like). I dont what to seem selfish about this, but isnt that waht music is about, yourself, your identity. so if the band that has motovated and sculped you is gone what do you do? who do you turn to? This is all a bad dream, and i hope i wake up soon pinch me. rachel

all i know is my favorite band is no more. Please ...... stop making assumptions. Marty is spending time right now with L.A. Guns doing an album and then a tour. It is not written anywhere that Lovehammers is "no more." Please just sit back and enjoy Marty's new creative outlet. We all have feelings one way or the other about Marty being with another band. This isn't about us - we're just fans of the music - this is about band members and their personal lives and career decisions & choices. Let's take the music any way we can get it and be appreciative. If it weren't for Marty being on Rock Star: INXS, we would have never known about him or the Lovehammers. This board and its .org/.com site were started in support of Marty Casey and his creative, musical talent.

I was introduced to Marty from RS. Fell in love with his band, became a big, loyal fan, flew to Chicago just to see them. Love their music because it ISN"T all sex, drugs and vampires. Been there, done that 30yrs ago. Thought about bringing my grandson to see them. Won't happen with LAG's. I'll get the album, I'll give it a chance because of Marty. I was hoping everyday for a lh tour. I am sooo disappointed.
