Thanks for this thread and idea. Here are my thoughts: In my head, I capture pictures of your face, so I won't forget, wanting to touch it and run my hand over it softly, just once but if I do, I know I will lose my control, so I keep my hand still in place and keep capturing those pictures of your face to never forget. Just some thoughts and ideas.

Rachael - beautiful. THanks. Need to do my "jobby job" tomorrow. Be back tomorrow night. Keeps those ideas pouring in. I will try to get the next draft posted then. Posted on WPCC for some lines on those pants. Got some good ideas. Need more. Pants are definitely bridge material....I have no idea what i am doing, but like what we are all creating.

I'm still trying to remember that lyric. The original one did rhyme. If I can't recollect it, I do like your suggestion rockfan.

OOOOH liking the White Knight reference...not to get too literary...can we spin something off of that though? White Knight...let's ramble...off the top of my mind...that sends me first to "Alice in Wonderland" and then on to Arthurian legends....*hmmmm*

okay I am quite late joining the fun here and feel free to dismiss my loopy ideas. But i thought of using MCLH song titles in this endeavour. As such: Starlight Lady thinks she hears the Ultrasound, If she’s Wasted, it might be Morphine. But maybe it’s the Undertow, As she sinks into Velvet, Gets lost in The Tunnel Falls through the Clouds But her Eyes Can’t See anything. …another Casualty of his music. okay, I'm tired, but there might be kernel of something there...

Great thoughts Chk... who would have thunk all the names would go together and make it's own song!! As Marty says "Write the words and the come alive! Then take a Life of their own" *sigh* such a wise young man Thanks for the input I think BG, along with the rest of us are going to appreciate you idea

chk - just brilliant. Definitely will work that in. This may turn into the longest song in history. Now I know I am hooked, I am logging in while facing 24 people, waiting for me to say something. Gotta Go - will put post draft 2 tonight. Meanwhile - still looking for ideas on how to build the mucic portion of the project. Later (poof). Boston

I had thought about integrating song titles too...
Perhaps instead of falling through Clouds we could be rising - going ever higher... going back to that kernel at the start of the thread about the eagle...with him lifting us higher and higher...

*listening to Battle of the Bands CD now - "Confusion" blaring out speakers* If we go through the song title train of thought that DEFINITELY could make it steal the title of longest song from "The Song that Never Ends" *LOL* However, going back along line of the White Knight business...in a more serious way...the Knight leads Alice to the square where she becomes a Queen in "Through the Looking Glass"...and (according to Sparknotes - note the italicized and underlined line): "Alice listens kindly to the awkward but gentle Knight, who obviously cherishes her company and regrets having to let her go. The brief pause in the narration before the Knight sings his song announces the importance of the episode. His song is a parody of Wordsworth's sequence with the old leech-gatherer in "Resolution and Independence". The tune "I give thee all, I can no more" indicates Carroll's devotion to his young friend...The long series of increasingly absurd rhymes at the end of the song seems to indicate the Knight's reluctance to leave off and let go of his audience..." It also notes the Knight's love of logic, invention, and storytelling...Carroll's Knight is traditionally portrayed as an older gent who enjoys the company of Alice, who is much younger. My point is this (and you guys and gals may be ahead of me on this)...since MC&LHs appeal to all ages...maybe we could integrate something along that line into the vibe or message of the song? Not to mention the devotion factor of the Hammers to their fans...we could also play on them being our defenders...like any damsel in distress's loyal knight... Just some thoughts. I'll try to check back in later - especially if I come up with something more...but I have papers to grade and a three page paper to write myself...so this may be the last you see of me tonight. If so...peace. Fare thee well until we meet again.

I wrote a song years ago -- but have been thinking a lot lately how some of the lyrics fit my enthrallment with Marty Casey --
Hey Mr Music Maker - I want to hear your song (could be "we" instead of I) I want to come along On your trip through music land Music Maker, Music Maker Please play for me Play your songs for me Hey Mr Music Maker I want to hear you play And with your music say We belong in music land Music Maker, Music Maker Music sets us free Your songs set us free Hey Mr Music Maker I want to be with you Doing the things you do Living life in music land Music Maker, Music Maker Your songs made me see More of life to see.

Really Great Ocean - thanks. Everyone's input is so good. I was trying to make it seamless, and it is starting to look very ecletic. Now I am thinking that ecletic is much, much better. This is truly going to be the longest song ever. Oh well, it's just a Christmas present, right ? Better that it is long and represents everyone's feelings and input.
Working on next draft. Be back in a little bit. You guys rock !!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you draft-2 for your review and feedback. We probably have made history with the most people contribuitng and collaborating on a song. I made some small changes so that a few things from different people would fit together. I really tried not to over think it, it came out great with that ecletic feel to it. If anyone wants me to change something back or any suggestions. Please Let me know. We can add more also. I am ok with breaking the record on the longest song ever. You are one awesome bunch of folks. Please, please tell me what you think, be honest. It is a present for our guy. The Story Teller Dear Mr. Casey, a gift from your fans at mc.org Stay tuned, don’t move, there’s much much more We hope you enjoy it cuz it’s from the heart Just sit back and listen that will be your part Embracing a life shared with the world He awakens thoughts to touch our soul We never knew this could exist Where minds and souls share a common goal He tells us stories of days gone by Reach for the morning hope rises again Reach for the morning our dreams take flight Possibilities blind us as we reach new heights (Chorus 1) He is the one To take you there To the place that you are longing to be Look at you now, Amazing somehow That you seem to be lost in his dream You like the song, And sing along With your arms raised up high in the air You need this man, To show you how To find the answers that are lost in the TreesIts magic, we say, what else could it be? A word, a look, a lyric, a smile We are Touched, we're effected, and changed! You know his name, About his fame He’s the one; he’s the only Marty Casey Others may try But they won’t succeed Others may try…They don’t know what I need Your soul aglow, your eyes, your hand Take it all in, understand if I can (Bridge) Starlight Lady thinks she hears the Ultrasound, If she’s Wasted, it might be Morphine. But maybe it’s the Undertow, As she sinks into Velvet, Gets lost in The Tunnel Higher, higher through the Clouds But her Eyes Can’t See a thing. Just another Casualty of his music.Hey Storyteller - We want to hear your song We want to come on your trip through music land He’s in the show - Look at him go Don’t take your eyes off of him for a second Coming over to see you tonight So natural, like breathing ‘Cause you are like light You walk on stage in those white pants our hero, our white knight The storyteller he is so hypnotizing We surrender as he takes control Others may try but you will succeed ‘Cause they don’t know what I need (Chorus 1) He is the one To take you there To the place that you are longing to be Look at you now, Amazing somehow That you seem to be lost in his dream You like the song, And sing along With your arms raised up high in the air You need this man, To show you how To find the answers that are lost up in the Trees

Ok I was traveling over to Victoria on the ferry with not too much to do but think of more lyrics. Had not seen the additions to the tread so I don't want to waste them.... Some stories are woven using deceit and lies Others with truth & trust that are see threw the Story Tellers eyes. For Marty the hands can sign the song Having the wisdom to bring us along By a composition of words so sweet to my ears Sweet Melodies to Kickers' Rock The Story Teller takes us to this place Not knowing who's soul he's touched Ok that's it! I think these are pretty well one liners so if anyone wants to fool around with them, as Bostongirl says, "I'm not married to any of it" Does anyone have a melody, tune, licks they wish to share? Me... I have a difficult time carrying at tune in a basket And you have heard the joke..... What did you do with the money your Mom gave you for singing lessons.... I used mine on candy ;D ;D Your right Bostongirl..... this is going to be a long song, unless somebody does some editing
