I agree Ceeje, that was a really great read. It felt like you really got a sense to know what was going on in his mind as he prepared to start this new adventure! Sounds like he is ready to have an awesome time this summer and i'm really glad now that the dust is beginning to settle that most everyone is along for this crazy ride.....its going to be awesome, Marty wouldn't have it any other way!!

Hmmmmm.

I thought I was headed to Canada for a week to complete some songwriting, and it ended up manifesting into a 3-month globe-trotting escapade.

Only 3 months, I wonder what that means?

Hummmm...for someone that doesn't like to give personal information out, he sure is giving detailed stuff with this one. I'm glad he's happy this week....And it's always very entertaining and lovely to read his writings, he IS an awesome STORYteller, that's fo sho.....I'm glad he's not sad anymore.

I found it a bit bizarre. It sounded like it was written by someone who had never been on tour, never played on stage with a band before. I understand that he's on a NEW tour with a NEW band, but I'm sure he REMEMBERS his former band. This stuff really isn't ALL brand new, is it? I often enjoy his blogs, but this one seemed odd to me.

When I get excited about something, it can feel like the first time - even if it's not. When you're truly happy, and eager and all that, and the enthusiasm just bubbles up - it's just the best feeling!

Wow, that tour bus sounds like the size of a house. If the first show/soundcheck was a rehearsal, each show is gonna be better and better for sure.

HY - I think the 3 months was referring to the summer part of the Blackout Tour.

And the personal stuff - don't we all decide how much personal stuff we share and don't share?

And I think this is a new experience. He has never been on tour with anyone but LH and they did not tour all that much. It must feel strange and new. He is getting to know new people in tight quarters. This is just my opinion and I respect that other people see it differently.

I thought that it was a thoughtful blog. I think we will see more of that unique humor as he settles in. I am happy that he wants to share this experience us.

Loved the blog, I really appreciate that Marty shares with his fans his experiences and thoughts. It really allows his fans to be a part of something, visualize things, that they might never have experienced or seen before.

I agree. I'm glad he still shares with us even though there are times he gets so much criticism thrown at him. He's not afraid to still share his feelings and adventures.

I liked the blog - it made me feel the emotions with him. Nervous as he was leaving the neighborhood and then excitement as to what the future holds.

LH and they did not tour all that much. ....I can say for a fact they have, for 20 years, touring everywhere and no where, and back again. I will post a 20 year history of their road trips if ya wish sweets, but they have toured. Just standing this statement out to be corrected is all sweets....I love your opinions, and your LOVE that you spread, it's a great inspirations and influence for others as well darlin'........but to say something like that darlin', I'll defend. Not in a bad way at all, I'm sure you were just saying that in conversation, but I picked it up and felt the need to correct it completely.

Hi Henry. I agree with you. I like reading the blogs. It appears that someone is afraid of the criticism, though. It's a shame that all comments were disabled despite the fact that the majority of the comments were positive. When I make a public post, I'm aware that its public nature means that some people may publicly disagree with what I write. It's all part of the interactive experience... taking the crunchy with the smooth.

Nancy - thanks for the correction. I actually would love to see a list of where they have toured over the last 20 yrs. I thought I had seen everything but have to admit that I have not read every single thing that has ever been written. Sometimes it is hard to express feeling when writing, so let me be clear. I think it would be great to catalog that for the fans and history. I am not questioning your point You are the best. Always have been, always will be.

Ok doll, look at the archived Tour Section here, it will show you 2006's tours AND all other shows where they either flew or traveled to get there.....and I'll get a list of places just for the fun of it, and PM them to you this week.
