I think the fan club site has a history that talks about a lot of the tours they did before Rockstar.

I was sort of surprised the comments were disabled here, also. At least you can still leave a comment on his blog at Myspace - that hasn't been disabled, yet.

I think the fan club site has a history that talks about a lot of the tours they did before Rockstar. Yup, I think scribbles has a detailed line up, that's who I'm going to to ask about that "list". It's truly 15 GOOD years of touring, traveling, and working their butts off, not just in the Chicago area either. I'll ask her though, thanks

I really appreciated Marty's honest and detailed account of his experiences thus far. His writing is so spot on you really can picture what he talks about. This is a tough time and an exciting time for him it seems. I am psyched for him to have this new chapter and the experience of something different. With everything that's happened, I think it's pretty brave of him to put his feelings out there.
And a quick comment on the personal things he shares.... in his blogs, he shares personal things about himself, about his thoughts and feelings and surroundings. For the most part, he talks about his experience. I can understand why sharing some of the band issues were off limits as far as he was concerned. He shared about it insofar as it applied to his own experience. I think he did a pretty good job of conveying some complicated issues while keeping it as simple as possible. He continues to share his inner world in the new blog, all the while knowing he's being watched even closer than ever.
He has an uncanny ability to paint pictures with words, and trusts enough to let us in to see the paintings. I have had very mixed feelings about all of the events in the past month. And after this blog, I have to say, I have alot of respect for him and I truly admire his courage. No one will ever say of Marty that he didn't live his life.

Lisafaith - well said and I couldn't agree with you more. I do not recall him once doing the 'he said, she said' thing in any of his writings (except in lyrics). He has let us into his world and his thoughts on may occasions and for me it has given me insight to his art.
Most people are sad that he is no longer with LH. I have wondered if there is anyone sadder than Marty that he needed to leave. I respect him for making some really hard decisions and having the courage to move forward.
I truly hope that we never see the day where he lets what others have to say prevent him from sharing with us. I feel really privileged that he is willing to take us along.

Hummmm...for someone that doesn't like to give personal information out, he sure is giving detailed stuff with this one. I'm glad he's happy this week....And it's always very entertaining and lovely to read his writings, he IS an awesome STORYteller, that's fo sho.....I'm glad he's not sad anymore. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] Is a good read Nancy
I couldn't comment any better than y'all have about the blog. I'm so envious because the fans here are so good with the written word. I really struggle with it. Anyway........................... I quoted Nancy's post because it best matched my feelings since I read the first review from GB. I'm so elated that Marty seems happy and excited and comfortable. If he happens to read this (I'm so technically challenged that I have yet to register on any myspace sites - including Marty's ) I really chuckled thru the part where he talked about first getting on the bus, getting settled and figuring out how this is going to work with the new guys and being weird. I used to have a job that involved a lot of traveling by plane, new co-workers every month and having the luxury of bunk sleeping. I freaked out in the middle bunk - too claustrophobic- I would have to sip a little champagne to handle that middle bunk and the thoughts of what bugs might be crawling on me or the previous bunk users!! ewwwwwwwww. Oh, and btw, Marty you are a weirdo (takes one to know one) no doubt about it. It's one of your most endearing qualities as far as I'm concerned!!! :rotf:

Hi Henry. I agree with you. I like reading the blogs. It appears that someone is afraid of the criticism, though. It's a shame that all comments were disabled despite the fact that the majority of the comments were positive. When I make a public post, I'm aware that its public nature means that some people may publicly disagree with what I write. It's all part of the interactive experience... taking the crunchy with the smooth. [/IMG]
It is possible that the comments were disabled as a response to the debacle that occured on an earlier blog, where people decided it to use it as a forum to be venomous and hateful to each other. I don't think its criticism that someone is trying to avoid. Crunchy is all good. Rancid is just...vile. As for this blog...loved it. I totally dug the "new adventure" vibe of it all. Yep he has been on tour before we all know that. But this is a whole new series of firsts that he gets to celebrate. In a new context the things that used to be taken for granted are fresh and able to be experienced again. I love that feeling. I know that it is making him feel good and inspired and it is bringing good things to his performances and to his sense of self...new perspectives bringing new insights ...love it.

Boston and Polari Your posts got me all verklempt, I am so appreciative that HIS personal insights were shared (thanks Marty) That newness is so exciting! I wonder too Boston if anyone is sadder than Marty leaving the comfort of the known for the scary unknown? And the irony of wanting to share this Great stuff with his best buds, but they hurt ? He is much more brave than I. I know that scary, angst filled times are usually the most inspiring for creative stuff like poems or lyrics. I look forward to how this whole experience shapes and molds them all for the good if they let it.

Palari, if I thought the comments were going to be vile, like that one time, I would probably want it stopped too. However, the last time I saw the comments, there were maybe 10-12 posts, and only one critical one. And I wouldn't call it vile - just someone who was really upset with Marty and how he said he'd never experienced a drum solo up close. Considering the number of times I've seen Bobby do the drum solo for Ultrasound, I'm also surprised and a bit upset Marty could say that.
Jilly, maybe I missed it, but where did he say anything about wanting to share this "Great stuff" with his best buds? I would really like to hear him say he's thinking about Dino, Bobby and Billy other than in the past tense.

Lynn...given the heat and dissension that has surfaced over the last weeks and the tendency for people to resort to personal attacks in the threads on more than one board I think it is a sensible precaution to remove that as a possibility on Marty's blog. If people have criticisms to level there are plenty of places to do that.

So 1 or 2 critical posts and the comments are shut down? That's pretty drastic isn't it? Do you expect that the only comments that should be allowed are ones praising Marty? That's pretty one-sided don't you think?
Are only "right-thinking people" allowed to comment on Marty's blogs? People have said that this board has become a board of censorship. I haven't really believed that completely, because I certainly haven't been whole-heartedly in support of Marty's move and I haven't been censored yet.
But now I'm beginning to wonder just how far the board will go.

I get the sense from Marty's lyrics and his kind blogs that he is a deep thinker and probably nostalgic perhaps ? I don't think he could avoid thinking of those dearest to him if he tried? Maybe I am guessing but that is what I get. That is my perception of Marty anyway and my "O" . Peace out! Goodnight Jill

I can tell you how far we won't go.
We won't let members bash other members.
We won't let members publicly humiliate other members. We won't let a few people come over here and try to ruin the online community that has been built by the fans.
Everyone has been allowed to state their opinions here. BTW, stating your opinion is different from intentionally coming over here to start trouble.

But now I'm beginning to wonder just how far the board will go. If it was one or two critical comments there would be no issue. No Lynn, there have been some nasty hurtful things said to people on a personal level over this and however you feel about what has happened that is not ok. No one expects people to be vile. Nobody expects grown adults to behave immaturely but past behaviour by a few has spoiled that for everybody. The thread of hate was shameful and disgraceful and nobody wants a repeat of that. I know you are hurting honey and I am sorry. I know you are conflicted. You want answers and you want him to know how hurt you are. You want him to be accountable...and he is...just not to you and me. As for censorship here, to be upset if one gets a negative response to one's critical post here is at best naive and at worst disingenuous. It would be like me going over to Lh.com and posting about how wonderful this is for Marty. That would be an unpopular opinion and I would be told about it in no uncertain terms. I could expect nothing less. MartyCasey.com is where we come to LOVE Marty. This is where we come to support him, to back him up. This is his domain. Do not expect anything less.

I have to agree with Palari . This is a place to love and support our Storyteller . There is nothing wrong with expressing an opinion if it is tactful and constructive . Hatefulness is not acceptable .
I understand people being hurt about LH and want answers from Marty . He already gave a clear answer : he was not happy anymore ; unfulfilled ; was not feeling creative anymore . How much clearer does he have to be ?
Bostongirl , you hit the sadness part right on the money .
Comment ? I made mine at myspace for him . I loved it ! God , how he can make you live what he lives ; feel what he feels . Now if he could only find a way to shrink us and take us with on this journey .
Luv ya Marty ....be safe babe !
