wow! sounds like a good show! im sad i had to miss this! i hope he comes to ohio again soon!!!! or at least to indiana/pa!!!!

i have never heard skinny white guitar player! is it an lh or marty song? i have never heard of it before...

the new song!!!! what!!! i want to hear it!!!

YES, those are the "I, Alone" pants!!! As soon as I went backstage to start our photo shoot, I said that, and he said they were. They even have the split areas at the bottoms of the inner hems like you can see in the photo from the show. He had them held closed with safety pins. I didn't know he still even had those pants. They really bring back memories of one of my favorite performances of his from the TV show. Remember that vertical leap?!

I got some really good stuff at the shoot. Marty looked at the shots on my camera and liked them, too. So you all are in for a treat! We only had a little room with a pool table in it to work with for the setting, but I think we made the most of what we had there. We both put our creative instincts to work, and together came up with some interesting shots.

Highlights of the show for me were:
"Skinny White Guitar Player"--so funny! He has a wonderful snarky sense of humor.
"Never Tear Us Apart"--WOW!!!! That was really moving. His voice brought so much emotion to this song. I just loved hearing him sing this one.
"Black Majesty"--this one breaks your heart like "Just Go" does.
Another highlight was lots of interesting/humorous comments between songs.
Oh, and he said that Dino just got married! I'm not sure if he was joking, or if it's true, but if it's true, best wishes to Dino and his lovely lady!

Marty played for nearly an hour and a half, and sounded fantastic! Also, the sound guy in this venue did a great job. I complimented him afterward. It was well-balanced for the size of the room, not overly loud, and very clear. I didn't need earplugs any time that night, not even for the opening acts. I hope Marty plays there again--it was a very nice place to see a show. Kind of out in the middle of the farm fields, but not too terribly far south of Champaign/Urbana. There was a good turnout, too--the place was pretty full.

Nancy, I agree, that venue was great. And everybody was really fantastic. The sound guy for Marty's show (Tom) was also the guitarist/vocalist for the 2nd act that played. And the first guy that played was the sound guy for the 2nd act - everybody had multiple jobs.

It would be great to see Marty or LH play there again some day.

for the pics....Steph...I'm loving those 2 black and whites, they make me grin ear to ear. still depressed i missed it, I'm only sick every 6-10 years, why it had to be that night I don't know....I can't control everything, but I'll reconcile with myself after time. LOL :-) Am I seeing this right....I Alone crazy thick stripe pants, a light blue ruffled dress shirt, vest and a gorgeous time with his new hat? ONLY MARTY could pull that off and look as amazing as I'm sure he sounded.

And....some pointy black shoes! He was really pulling off the 1930's gangster meets rock dude look. The wide striped tie really topped it off perfectly. Mucho stylin'!!!

Or a variation on the pirate meets the bookie I only have one question. Where on earth did he get that tie? And why.

Seriously - I think it is so cool that he finally started wearing those pants. THey have always been one of my favs. Wonder if he put black polish on his toenails for the occasion??
