I completely agree. I have never been so distracted from my work or family than this week. Monday was the worst. I had to go to my French class Monday morning and I kept seeing Marty singing in front of me, and the song kept changing in my head. I seriously felt sick, like I had to leave. Every day this week I've just been distracted and silly one moment, agitated the next. It's weird!!! I guess you can all relate though - ha ha! When does it pass??

I can honestly say that I don't think it EVER passes-I keep reliving the HOB show over and over again, it was such magic. I love living vicariously through the rest of the weekend through everyone's pics and reviews. I am dying for the CD release and feel like an antsy kid the week before Christmas-it just can't get here fast enough. You are definitely NOT alone, so hang in there! ;D

Boston Girl thanks for posting the pictures- what great memories. Wish I could turn back time to one week ago right now to the HOB..... still can't believe what an amazing weekend it was! On Monday I was still on a high from it all but as the week went on it got harder and harder to focus on my real life. I swear I have spent hours and hours reading reviews, uploading pictures and replying to threads on facebook as well as searching the internet for pictures and videos - no wonder I am exhausted. All that being said I would do it all again in a heart beat. Now I just have to figure out when and how I can see them again

It’s taken me several days to gather my thoughts so I could say what I want to say. I’ll write more about each show individually, but I first want to give my overall impression of the entire set of shows. Lovehammers are truly back as a band, as a band of brothers, and as a creative force. It’s clear that when Marty has taken time away from Lovehammers to work with LA Guns or to do solo projects, it has done not only him, but also ultimately Lovehammers, a world of good. Marty seems to be the kind of artist who NEEDS to continually seek out new challenges and new ways to grow his skills and artistry. Then he has returned to LH with renewed energy, creativity, and with his voice and songwriting skills stronger than ever. That renewed spark has also reignited the spark of the entire band. That’s brought us: Bobby writing a song?! And it’s GREAT!!! Who would ever have thought that would happen? We’ve also gotten Marty writing the song “Heavy Crown”, that talks about the courage and struggle of loved ones with cancer. They only played it once during the weekend, at HOB, but it was so moving that within the first couple of lines, I was crying. I don’t mean little tears sneaking out, either—I mean outright sobbing. I instantly was taken to the place where I was seeing my sister Carol’s long, brave fight against breast cancer, and I couldn’t hold back. I know that others in the room were also affected by that song, including those on stage. So many excellent new songs, and so much fun, love, playfulness, and intense rock going on between those guys on stage! Billy has kicked his guitar playing up in a huge way, and can give any guitarist in the business a real run for his or her money in the guitar hero department. Bravo, Billy! To Dino, I have to say—what hand problem? He was flying on that bass, and I couldn’t fault his playing or hear anything that sounded like inability to play whatever he wanted to play. Bobby, the stealth songwriter(!), did not hold back on the drums, either. Cousin Bill was a welcome addition to the sound, to lay down the rhythm guitar parts that freed Billy up to soar on lead guitar. And Marty—marvelous! His voice is stronger than ever (thanks to all his hard work in the last year with his various projects), and he is so happy and inspired now! He’s a smart man and he knows his own mind and what he needs as an artist. He also knew that the ultimate goal was to bring it all back to Lovehammers, his musical family. He has done that in a big way, and I am so happy for ALL of them because of it. It is so good to see them onstage, cohesive and creative like I haven’t seen them in at least 2 years, and having a great time together. In the future, when Marty needs to go off and do other things again, like the as-yet-unnamed new band with Tracii and crew that will be performing the music Marty wrote with them, or his solo work, or whatever else his creative brain comes up with, everyone should just look at it like sending a kid off to school—pack him a lunch (figuratively speaking), tell him to learn a lot and have a great time, and to tell us all about it when he gets home to his LH family. I’m really looking forward to the future for this band!

Wow!!! The LOVEHAMMERS ROCKED!!! What an incredible time! Nancy, I agree with you 100%, every point you hit on, I feel the same way. Heavy Crown, such a beautiful, meaningful song, it really touched us (sisters & I) with the recent loss of our dad. All the new music is just so dang GOOD! Oh my Baby, Find your Way, YTMT, Black Angel...Guns! ALL have a great sound, I wake up with different melodies in my head. Just wanted to concur with you Nancy and thank you for your well said input. Scott, your pix came out great!!! I do like the one of shocked-hair-Marty. I'm still downloading mine. Yeah, It was sooo good to spend time with you and all the Hammerheads!! It like getting together with family or a renunion of close-knit school buds! Hammerhead are the best ~ fans & friends!!! It took awhile to re-acclimate myself....got a bad flu bug, now the kids have it . It feels good to check in and say hi to everyone and see all the pix, sentiments, and be able reminsice about the great experience we all shared!! xoxo Sherry

Thanks for being so friendly...you and all the Hammerheads made her 1st LH experience the best. She thinks so highly of the LH's as well as the fans. She was blown away! And, yes...for sure I will send you pictures. I have some fun ones, I still have to download some more. What are you doing for the 4th? Wasn't too happy being re-routed to Milwaukee the night of HOB/LH but wishing I could be there this Saturday for SUMMERFEST...LOL! Have a great 4th of July!!! xo- Sherry

HOB, 6/19/00. The band was in a great mood, and totally on fire! This was the most cohesive and in sync as a band that I had seen them in quite a while, and it was so good to see! It’s clear that they love playing together again, and are making some great music as a team. At the NYE show, they seemed to be getting used to playing together again. At the Valentine’s Day show, they were celebrating playing together. But for this show, they came ready to show off their new music, celebrate the music of their past, and totally blow us all away! The K brothers’ cousin Bill Brinias joined them to play rhythm guitar. This really helps Billy be able to go off on lead work. One of the most surprising things about this show was that we had a Randy sighting late in the show—he was standing back by Billy’s guitar rack, working on the guitars. He showed up in some of my photos, so look for him back there behind Billy, offstage.
