Lovehammers wants you to sing "Trees" with just audio or on a video! The judging will be done by Marty, Billy, Dino, Bobby, Randy and Dan, and will be done from the road as well as home, if they are home. The contest will run until September 15, 2006 and is open to anyone 18 and over, and from anywhere in the world. Any audio or video of anyone appearing to be under 18 will be discarded immediately. Please feel free to repost this on other Lovehammers related websites. Good luck! What the Winners get: 1st place - Gets into the Soundcheck at the metro show if attending and an autographed copy of the DVD CD Combo. 2nd place - Gets into the soundcheck if attending and a set of autographed picks and a stick. 3rd place - Gets into the soundcheck if attending and an autographed CD. All audio must be in MP3 or WMA format. Video can be AVI, WMV, MPEG, MPG, or anything else that is compatible with Windows Media Player. I think I'm going to enter... I'm not going to the Metro show, but it would be worth it to be chosen by LH as the winner out of the applicant pool in and of itself, not to mention the CD DVD combo (Live:Raw, perhaps?).
Let's all enter!! It will be a group activity!

Well, I just did it. It sucks, but was fun to do!!!!!!! Damn its taking a long time to transfer to dan and the band. Already 28 minutes and there is 17 minutes left to go.
God you guys the dogs are having a cow and the neighbor came over to ask me if everything was ok...they heard me from 50 yards away in their house and there is a fence!!
Be sure to listen at the end all the way as I didnt know the record button was still going and I swear and then belch!! That will shoe me in for consideration right there...ahahahaha
It sucked because my sound recorder only goes to one minute intervals and then you have to hit record, and for me to sing that seriously I have to hold the mic like its a mic. So I had my hands criss crossed and it was sort of hard. I did like 5 takes and grew tired and starting sweating. ROFL Oh well, I must be crazy, but I love to sing, go to church and everyone voice pretty much sucks, but its fun!!! I cannot wait to hear the next brave soul who enters this cool contest..... and I/we are organizing Hammeroke for the Hammerjammers in Rocktober, that is for those staying through Monday and Tuesday like a good amount of us are. Come on out, all is welcome and bring your voice and a good attitude and video cameras!!!
It will be on Sunday night we are going to a bar with LH songs made into Karaoke style recordings and VOILA- HAMMEROKE. I am doing Hold On, Yes it Do, Throw my Head and Trees!!

I mean I said "Hello, Rockbeast" and shook her hand and she said "Oh Wow, not really beastie sounding or something" Sorry. I cannot help it, I am the way god made me. Sorry again Thank you SOOOOOOO much for the nice words everyone. It really is not easy to do this. I liked my Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah's and the very end as well. Not one of my fave LH songs though... |

Well that was limited edition, and I didnt practice or anything. So I practiced several dozen times since yesterday and re-recorded it and its WAY WAY better, I moved the microphone further from me. Like 3 feet. Before I was like 8 inches away from it. So, its a big difference. EDITED OUT THE LINK I dont have a upgraded account w/yousendit, so once 100 people have downloaded the file, it goes "bye bye"...... Anyone else done a recording of this yet?  I probably should have not shared it with everyone!! then it would be a total surprise. Cheers RB |

Rockbeast that was awesome!! I can't wait to hear it again!! I'm also "Chani" from the lovehammers site. I was at the sacramento concert too. When they finished playing and the LH fans were walking towards the fence, I shouted out "ROCKBEAST" and said I was Chani from Canada, and shook your hand. You had replied to a post I left on the lovehammers board. I started thinking you probably have no idea who I am!! My mind wasn't working properly after watching them perform...I was out of it....in a good way!!The crowd was rushing to the fence so I didn't get a chance to really talk with you. Are you going to Michigan in August to see the band? I'll be there, hope you will be too!! Raechel |

Beastie - no disappointment here - I like what I heard - I liked getting the chance to hear the "real you"
just thought it was funny how I get an idea in my head of what people's voices might be like (not just you, anyone I've chatted with) and it was different - for that matter when I hear a recording of MY voice it doesn't sound like the voice I hear in my head either!!!

Well that version and the one before it were DISQUALIFIED by Dan. he emailed me and said thanks, but the only way to enter the contest is to DOWNLOAD the MP3 or WMA version of "Trees" NO VOCALS (see the front page of this site), then record your vocals where they belong in the song.
I did three takes and its getting better, but not enough to save it. This is alot harder than it seemed now and I am nowhere NEAR ready to hit this the way it should be. So I am going to practice and practice and practice........
Thanks for the support and I hope I am not the only one who is doing this contest!! I dont care about the prizes! I just won the LIVE/RAW-LIVE AT SCHUBAS ACOUSTIC CD combo off eBay for 158.00, and have met the band almost 1/2 dozen times. But the soundcheck would be cool and If I won, I would also hold a contest to see who I would take with me. Like who could make me the coolest trinket (jewelry) or something like that.
