Here is Part I of the actual version I submitted. Thanks Stiletto! Like I said before, the song is hard to nail Marty has a tough voice to imitate............my voice is deeper so for me it is very very difficult to sing Trees............but I can hold my own with it...........I do better on some of the other LH songs...........like Hold On, Rain on the Brain, or Straight as an arrow. |

Dan posted at the lh.com board in the trees karaokee thread that deadline is midnight tomorrow (whereever you are, midnight tomorrow) and he "hopes" to get the band together for final voting and then decide the winners by weekends end. But he is enjoying watching me squirm and I am on my way out the door for Oysterfest and he said "Maybe he should wait til next weekend" LOL CJ, I love it. GOOD JOB. I sent mine in too...I thought I might be disqualified 'cos I didn't use the backing track but Dan said it was ok!!

I am ok with it, it was a fun contest, I have heard a few others and there are a lot of GREAT versions of Tree's that were submitted. I wish luck on all of you. No Trees, no help from Dino. I dont know if he has even heard it yet. I was WAY too afraid to ask him at Summerfest and Music Mill in Indy...... Thanks again, it really was a blast to do! |

Well, since my sister bagged on me and did not record herself singing Trees as our entry into this contest, it has been left to me to try my hand at this. Let me just say that I have a newfound respect for all singers, even Zayra Alvarez.  this is hard and really humbling. I have learned one thing, tho --don't munch a handful of popcorn prior to singing. Just trust me on that.  |
