It's a toss up between.....
Everlong, Creep, Wish You Were Here and Trees.....
They were all world class performances......
I think Wish You Were Here meant the most to him though...and that's enough for me.....
My top pick is Marty's first performance of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here......

My fave is always going to be the first time Marty sang "Don't Change" when he was in the bottom three. The way he purposely took off his jacket and marched out onto the stage to blow everyone away. The best moment. Followed closely by the first time Marty sang Trees. Loved the song, loved that he looked like he was having fun singing it.

Marty learning that he's the recipient of the "Hit Me Baby One More Time" ... makes me grin like a maniac every time I see it.
Marty turning from the microphone and getting emotional after "Wish You Were Here".
And oh so many many more that absolutely slay me, not even mentioned on the MSN site, including, but not limited to:
Marty doing his fluid, dream-like conductor moves during "Arms Wide Open".
Marty screaming the "run ... run ... run" part of "Creep".
Marty almost snapping in two any time he bent backwards.
Marty's defiance before and during "Don't Change". The arm raise at the line "The sky above, won't fall down."
Marty's torso in general.
Marty just being Marty. (OK, so that sounds New Age, but I mean it.)
Gee. All my favorite moments revolve around Marty. Go figure.

Reading this thread is giving me goosebumps!  My first favorite moment was when he grabbed his hair during Lithium and looked right into the camera.... then it just kept going from there.... if I picked apart all the video's of him I could probably go on for hours - just about any time he was looking right at the camera with those gorgeous eyes - I was through. Reading this thread is giving me goosebumps! My first favorite moment was when he grabbed his hair during Lithium and looked right into the camera.... ohhhh I have always LOVED that exact moment in that song....it is when I first noticed those beautiful eyes! |

I guess I never did answer the Rock Star 30 Greatest Moments question.....
I do believe this is one thing the Rockstar.Msn.com site got right: Marty Smashes his guitar was a major, major Rock Star moment. It captures the Rock Star vibe so well....and only Marty could have pulled it off. I just loved his tease with the crowd of Acoustic/Electric...it really fired up the whole house. And then the smash of the guitar. Perfect!
Although there were many many other Marty performance moments that were great, the guitar smash defined what it was to be a Rock Star.

The smashed guitar is being auctioned off on eBay, along with a bunch of other stuff from the show. It's already up to $990.
Everything Marty did was great! But Wish You Were Here really did it for me. His eyes are incredible.

:he held that arched back position FOREVER. How does he do that?  That fascinates me, too. It is a frequent topic of conversation for me and my mom (69 years old next month and a huge Marty fan). |

I get chills every time Jordis sings The Man Who Sold the World, so that's in my top 5. Everything else would be Marty related, obviously.
My favorite:
When Marty confronts JD for attacking the rest of the Rockers, (re: I know all the songs and they have to learn them, blah blah), he calmly says, "What you said out there...made me feel a certain way." Makes me giggle like crazy every time. You know he was dying to kick his arse.

One of my favorites is "With Arms Wide Open," because we see the sensitive, intense Marty, and then the Crazy Conductor comes out! I love both sides of Marty and am glad he doesn't have to tone it down for ANYONE! Rock on, Marty!

My favorites: toss up between With Arms Wide Open and Wish You Were Here.
Actually I loved all of Marty's performances... he is so mesmerizing! I could watch him forever.
Favorite "non-Marty" moment would be Jordis The Man Who Sold the World.

Right I cannot choose my favorite Marty moment, because I love them all. I do love the arching back pose. "Wish You were Here" was amazing.
I think Marty got the most moments of the 30. At least it seems like it.
