maybe we should have thread just about the accent thing. I have to say I love it. Marty took a lot of flack for it on other boards, but believe me if he sang in a Chicago accent it wouldn't sound right. For one thing, he'd sound like my Uncle Bob! The accent thing didn't bother me at all. It's not like he's going around SPEAKING with a fake British accent (like Madonna). I have to admit that I find Marty's mid-western accent really endearing when he speaks. I spent a summer in Wisconsin and had never heard people talk that way before. (We drank pahp and ate pahpsicles.) I love it! P.S. My friends in Wisconsin thought my accent was pretty damn hilarious too. They made fun of me for saying "sorry" instead of "sahrry"; "torist" instead of "turist"; and "ont" instead of "ant". |

Hey you guys, I can listen to MARTY anyday, I don't care what accent he has!  OK, I'm an Aussie, what do you think about our accents?  I always cop plenty of stirring from my American friends when we go over about the way we Aussies talk. Cheers, Helen.  |

I totally agree aussiefan! I don't care how or why Marty sings with an "accent". I love it!!!  He certainly didn't invent that voice for RS:INXS or for any specific performance. If you listen to lovehammers music, he's always sang that way!  |

My 12 year got hooked on Marty with WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU.
My husband got hooked with WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN.
I personally got more hooked with each performance until LITHIUM when Marty became the only reason to watch RSINX.
We missed the first episodes and didn't see TAKE ME OUT. This is one of my favorites now, and I think if I had seen it originally, I would have been fully Marty hooked from the beginning.
THIS WEEK, my favorites are MR. BRIGHTSIDE, TREES, TAKE ME OUT, and most fave right now is I ALONE!!!!! I hate that he got bottom three with this because this performance is fantastic!! I hope Marty knows that the only reason he got bottom three is because the Marty fans thought there was no chance he would ever get bottom three, so we were kind of lax. After that, I'm pretty sure he was in the top three, if not the top, vote getter through the remainder of the show.

I didn't start watching RS:INXS until week 3. I've never been able to figure out what my favorite performance was. There are so MANY awesome ones. I re-watch them all the time. I was waiting for the DVD to come out to see the first two performances, but I decided I couldn't wait any longer. Now that I have seen "Take Me Out", its my favorite hand-down. I was obsessed with MC and his music and I hadn't even seen that performance........ God help me now.  |

Creep very, very #1 RS:INXS performance, absolutely HOT! Trees (electric) 2nd favorite. Tie for 3rd is Wish You Were Here and Baby One More Time.
