Rock Star: STP? That could be interesting....I might even be able to get my husband to watch....nah...doubtful...lol.
I love shows like this because it showcases new talent and it gives them an avenue to try to break into the biz. When I was younger, the only thing out was Star Search and it was almost impossible to get on if you were an average, midwestern person, without a lot of $$$ behind them. If I were 10 years younger, I'd audition in a HEARTBEAT!

Don't even go there! You can never replace Scott. I have went to see him as the front man of Velvet Revolver and let me tell you straight up. I grew up with GNR and STP and Scott even though he has been in rehab a time or two can sing circles around almost anyone. From his outlandish look to his phenomenal voice. you cannot top him. he could never be replaced. STP chopped off their own head when they let him go. Where are they now. VR is on tour making $$$$$> Rock Star: STP? That could be interesting....I might even be able to get my husband to watch....nah...doubtful...lol. I vote for Van Halen. I want to see rockers try to out-perform David Lee Roth. Now that would be rock theater. Bigger than life. Just imagine the performances...and the snark we could do!!!

Totally agree: I would like to see VH, even if I personally loved DIamond Dave at his best, there has already been a substitute, Sammy Hagar. The problem is that Eddie Van Halen is gravely ill. Queen? I do not believe that May and Taylor would say yes to it. Replacing Freddie Mercury is no mean feat, almost impossible to find somebody with his intonation, his stage presence and his wit. The important thing is that they don't even try to do Nirvana or Alice.

good question, Amy. I don't remember hearing about Eddie's cancer lately, but you never know.

He looks like he is 60 is whats goin' on, and he has been laying very very low. Maybe his son Wolfie can take his place for the show.

I was actually thinking the same thing about the Cars. I'd love to see that. I think it would add an interesting dynamic to the show to be looking to fill a spot in a band that has/had two singers.

If I were 10 years younger, I'd audition in a HEARTBEAT! hmm i have mixed feelings about that one too, i grew up on STP, they're the music of my childhood and Scott Weiland is an amaaazing frontman so there's definitely no replacing him. But i mean he's with Velvet Revolver (who i think sorta suck btw) and wouldn't it be nice to give someone else a chance? It'd be totally entertaining, it'd give us another chance to watch some awesome performers do some classic 90's alt-rock tunes and perhaps discover another future rock legend (i.e. our wonderful Mad Conductor Marty Casey ).It wouldn't be the same as classic Stone Temple Pilots but neither is INXS with JD Fortune as their lead singer so you take what you can get. ♥ sheria.

I think STPs would be cool 'cuz of the performers it would draw. It would be awesome to watch that type of music being performed on tv three times a week.

OK...I hope everyone reads this...
I just heard on the radio that the buzz about Van Halen being the next project for Rock Star is true. Looks like next season will be Rock Star: Van Halen! Wow...imagine the talent they would need for that!

You haven't seen any recent pictures of him, have you? No...what's going on? Hi Amy, I think it was early last year, or the year before, that Eddie had tongue cancer, hip replacement, and went through a divorce. I read somewhere that Eddie was doing well and had done a lot of concerts last year. wildfire

It would be very cool if Nirvana were still a band, but then Marty would have to be the singer.... I know they have a band. But Nirvana was one of the coolest bands in a LONG TIME when they came out, totally different than the Goo Goo Dolls. And people like me (old rocker chicks) were Sooooo grateful for Kurt Cobain. When they first came out in Hollywood, so many "long-hair" local bands in Hollywood ran out and cut their hair. It was crazy.
Is an ex (as in dead) lead singer a requirement ? What about a replacement singer for someone who is a problem or who sucks ?
What about Rockstar: Smiths
Rockstar: Sex Pistols would totally rock!!!

What about Rockstar: Smiths Rockstar: Sex Pistols would totally rock!!! .. hmm.. yeah.. i'm totally not okay with that... there's no replacing Morrisey he is The Smiths and Johnny Rotten is still alive, kicking and still doing shows with the Pistols... I just think it'd be totally heinous to replace those two. just my humble opinion Oh but i am okay with Rockstar: Van Halen... as long as David Lee Roth's not planning on coming back.. their best bet is Rockstar.
