I didn't attend any of the tapings. But I do remember someone posting on the msn boards that they attended the finale taping and that the crowd went wild over JD when he sang and once he was announced the winner that it was pandemonium as everyone was so ecstatic and that he seemed to be the crowd favorite.
Would this be correct? I'm a huge Marty fan and am curious.

This has been a great topic to read. It’s so awesome to get the scoop about the behind the scenes that the general audience missed out on.
I really liked hearing the part about Mig and his wife in the balcony. After the show ended, the majority of the talk was either about JD or Marty and poor Mig was sort of left in their shadows. Personally, if I had ranked them in order it would have been Marty, Mig, and then JD. I look forward to seeing what will become of Mig. Does anyone know what has happened to him since the show ended? I’m going to have to search the net for info…..

I’m going to have to search the net for info….. This is a first! I've never "quoted" myself before, but my search on the net lead me to Mig's officially sanctioned site that has actually been on the net since 1999! Here is the link if anyone is interested in checking up on him! www.migcentral.com/
Now if Marty could "Officially Sanction" this one..........

Hey Robin, I thought Mig mentioned on the MSN chat that he will be putting up his own website www.migayesa.com. Not sure if it's up or if I'm spelling that correctly but you can give it a try.

Yes, MiG's site has always been www.migayesa.com They had to take it down during RS:INXS, but it's up again now. Hopefully news coming soon! MiG's very talented and I'm eager to see where his next journey takes him.

As for JD being homeless! Ha! Do your research on him. You'll find that bio to be as true as Kid Rock growing up in a trailer park. When I first heard that about JD I thought that WOULD make an interesting bio for a singer and could help him write some cool blues songs. Then I found out he quit his job as a martial arts instructor to be in RS. (Oh and he DID live in his car for a few nights, here and there, in between jobs! I guess that qualifies as "homeless.") I read JD had a drug prpblem that led him to being homeless and living in a car..

Thanks for that. I can't stand JD (sorry if I offend anyone) His arrogance will eventually over shadow his talent. Marty on the other hand seems genuine, and a real person. I can't wait to be able to see him perform first hand. He rocks Bern

I still think Marty Casey.org is the best fan site around (I'm a little bias) I have to totally agree. Just for curiosity sake I took a look around the net to see if JD, Jordis and Mig had websites of their own. I came across Mig's and wasn't too impressed. Then I found Jordis's and again wasn't too thrilled with hers. And I couldn't find a site for JD that's comparable to this site at all. Of all the websites I visited, this one was by far the most user friendly, easy to use and thorough that I have seen. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back day after day! Thanks to Cindy and Amy and all the moderators for all their hard work and dedication to this site. You gals rock!

Cool/Not Cool, they were offered the hybrid option which, considering everything that is going on right now, makes it a valuable and gracious gift. North Americans are such slobs about the environment and social responsiblity, I guess JD thought he should hold out for a Hummer--it would fit him AND his ego.

Thanks to Cindy and Amy and all the moderators for all their hard work and dedication to this site. You gals rock! I looked around too. No JD fansite to be found. The only place was on the RockStar site & INXS site, BUT you have to pay money to post on the INXS site. And lets face it, INXS ain't that big of a band anymore to be charging people for messageboards! Heres' something else worth mentioning: INXS had a free messageboard run by fans that was asked to shut down by INXS management. This MB had been up for like 4 years. No "Thank-You" for supporting us all these years & keeping our name out there. No "Nothing." Just "Please shut down your board or face legal action." INXS is all about the money now. But sad to say, they soon will find out "It Ain't Pretty." (The proverbial grapevine says INXS got mad because there were too many negative threads there saying they picked the wrong guy and everyone loved Mig & Marty.) Marty seems to be heading in the right direction doing radio & some LH concerts to keep his name out there. INXS has the big release of Pretty Vegas coming out in days..in the meantime, "Trees" is being downloaded madly. I say if Pretty Vegas was THAT great of a song, then why didn't radio jump all over it right away? Radio has been known to play stuff before it's released. Hmmm, perhaps Trees IS the better song? INXS kept saying they were not looking for a Hutch impersonator and wanted to move on. If that was the case they would have chosen Marty. Oh I am SO glad they didn't!

I have noticed on the message boards that alot of Marty fans would have been happy if Mig would have won over JD and vice versa. But, it is hard to find many Marty or Mig fans that like JD. I think a concert w/ Mig as the lead of INXS and Marty opening would have been great. Marty & Mig both have really nice, sweet personalities and are great performers also. Many JD fans tend to act like JD. At least on the message boards. Migs fans have always been really nice to talk to. The aussie ones are really fun. I always have to ask what certain words mean. I am worried about some things I may have said now because I went on a European Escorted vacation and half of our group were Aussies. Talk about a fun group. Question for any Aussies that come by here. Is is normal to drink beer for breakfast? Or did we just have a wild bunch w/ us? I went w/ my mom, sister, and aunt. We will never forget them. They had us rolling on the floor of the pubs (and tour bus). It was fun touring w/ people from so many places (Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, New York, Kansas City, and this us Missouri Boothillers). The older man w/ the Aussies had alot of very interesting songs he was singing and dancing to.

The fact that crowd was chanting "Marty...Marty" during the finale taping just warms me deep inside They were chanting for Marty right before Trees got picked for the encore on that last elimination show... Anyone else catch that?

Picking replacements that fit in nicely
It sounded like a particularly ghoulish idea - this summer's trend of replacing dead members of established acts through reality show runoffs. But it turned out kind of sweet.
INXS was looking to replace lead singer Michael Hutchence, who hanged himself in a Sydney, Australia, hotel room in 1997, on its CBS show "Rock Star: INXS." And TLC was looking to replace rapper Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who died in a car crash in Honduras in 2002, on its UPN show "R U the Girl" The process to find these new members was reality-show boilerplate: "American Idol" meets "The Apprentice." The remaining members (with help from reality-show producers, natch) select some finalists. The finalists live in a house, where their lives are taped. They go through music-related challenges and are booted off one by one until a winner is chosen.
"Rock Star: INXS" included public voting, though the remaining members always made the final decision on who stayed and who went. On "R U the Girl," TLC's T-Boz and Chilli made the decisions themselves.
I know, I know. Still sounds ghoulish.
What saved both shows is that in the end, INXS and TLC, whether they recognized it or not, selected the contestants that were most like the bandmates they had lost.
INXS picked J.D. Fortune, a former Elvis impersonator from Ontario, Canada, as its new singer. Those who want to give the 31-year-old the benefit of the doubt won't call him a Michael Hutchence impersonator, but even they can't deny that his deep voice and intense delivery resembles Hutchence in his "Need You Tonight" heyday. Even his original song, "Pretty Vegas" sounds like an INXS track, so much so that it's already the band's new single from its album, Switch.
And that's what made these shows sweet. Despite all the outside pressures, from the business world, the TV audience and, no doubt, from within the groups, they essentially didn't change course. They made the same decision they made when they first started out.
For INXS, it would have made more sense to go with the ambitious Marty Casey or even the mild-mannered (and wildly popular) MiG Ayesa, to give the band a new start. Now, they have a singer who will remind people that Hutchence is gone and that the replacement is not quite as good.
Found this article from Newsday on Google. Edited it for length. Particularly liked the last paragraph.

-JD totally making fun of the cars that they won because they were "Civics" (hi, ungrateful.) -JD brown-nosing INXS before performing with them. (hugging and kissing all the members. Barf. Gag) -JD effed up his first performance of Easy, Easy and had to do it again. Hi folks. I'm not a Marty-only fan. First and foremost, I'm a fan of INXS. I liked Marty, I liked JD, I didn't care for Mig, at least not as a front for INXS. Anyway, i was reading through the threads, and I have to say, I am really saddened by the bitterness and twisting of facts to make JD look bad. I'm not trying to be adversarial, but I thought I needed to clear up a few things. First, if someone was actually there, and wanted to tell the unbiased version of what happened with the Honda question, it was this. Honda was a sponsor, so rather than ask JD a proper question like Dave did Marty and Mig, he was forced by the sponsors to ask a really stupid question about how he found the car. (Dave even said he couldn't believe they made him ask that). JD, like him or not, has a quick wit and started describing it was nice, has AC etc. etc. As if to say, what am I supposed to say about a car when we're a few minutes away from singing for the big prize? So, no, there was no dissing of the car, there was no ingratitude, there was just a sponsor overriding the trajectory of the show. As for JD being a class act? Well, selective editing is a wonderful thing. Yes, JD did say what he said on the show, but cameras followed them around 24/7. Do you really believe they put 15 creative artists in a house with no outside contact, and JD was the only one who said anything controversial? Puhlease. If you believe that, I have some swamp land in Florida you might be interested in. They saw with JD's openness, he would be easy to turn into a villain. All of Mark Burnett's shows have them. So, concentrate on "the bad" guy's faults, and don't show others. That's how it's done folks. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who's associated with Survivor. Also, check the Rockstar.msn blogs. JD's the only one who never dissed another performer, not even in the slightest. As for Easy, Easy, it was the first time it had ever been performed. JD did a run-though once with a lyric sheet, and performed without it the second time. The producers expected at least 4 takes to get the shots they needed and were thrilled with JD for getting it in 2. As for no fansites for JD? Not only is there a huge fansite for him, but they have a link to this one for people who also appreciate Marty, like myself. I guess that kind of debunks the egotistical JD fans. Folks, the truth is, JD is a nice guy who was brutalized on a TV reality show. Did he say and do some things he shouldn't have? Sure, but Marty told Mig that he made a good choice for the finale, and then told the camera he thought it was a really bad choice. Now I'm sure it didn't really play like that, but if you were to accept it at face value, you'd think Marty was pretty smarmy, and we know that's not so. The papers in Canada have looked for dirt on JD since he's been on the show. They dug out old high school friends, who all said the same thing. He rarely had much money, but if he did, he'd spend it on his friends. Likewise, they found some of his castmates from his 3 month stint in an Elvis review. They all said the same thing, he hated it, but he still went out and gave 110% every night. Like I said, I'm not trying to stir up controversy here. Every indication is that Marty and JD are truly friends. Marty is one of only 2 contestants that JD has spoken with since the show wrapped. He's been unable to get much time to himself. I think it's a real shame when the guys are friendly with each other, that there is such awful animosity among their fans. :

Pete,
Thanks for your post. It was courageous, to say the least, to dare to post among a Marty only fan site. Your insight was interesting and I appreciated it.
I do know what a reality show does, and it's sad that they picked on JD first, then on the episodes towards the finale they tried to make both Marty and Mig look bad to create drama and tension. It made me sick.
I'm not a JD fan, although I think he is very talented in his own right. It was hard to like him based on how the show pictured him towards the beginning, coupled with some comments he made himself that added to the negativity.
The show is over - INXS chose JD, and Marty has a much better opportunity now. I agree with you that Marty may be disappointed to read some posts here as well as many others at the Rockstar boards that bash the other rockers.
The fact of the matter is that JD and Marty are good friends and they get along great - we were able to watch that towards the last episodes of the show. That should be enough for us fans to move on and support them all.
