Did anyone else attend the tapings? I only went to the finale..thought I'd share some dirt. If anyone else has behind the scene scoops..post 'em.
-Mig signing "I love you" to his wife, who was in the balcony, about a thousand times during the breaks, and then crying at the beginning of the show (before they started taping)
-JD totally making fun of the cars that they won because they were "Civics" (hi, ungrateful.)
-The crowd busting into chants on at least 3 different occasions (Mar-ty! Mar-ty!). He totally looked flattered and overwhelmed.
-Each of the three guys were asked, after their performances, why exactly they should be picked for the band....guess who had the most honest and respectable response?
-Dave Navarro chainsmoking. Brookie flirting with Marty during the break.
-JD brown-nosing INXS before performing with them. (hugging and kissing all the members. Barf. Gag)
-A long-winded speech from Mark Burnett
-JD effed up his first performance of Easy, Easy and had to do it again.
There's more but I'm drawing a blank. I was pretty overwhelmed seeing Marty perform live. It was AMAZING.

So J. D. was acting all charitable about giving that car to a Katrina victim and it was because it wasn't cool enough for him? Doesn't he know that people will tell what he says, even if it is off camera? Some day he may wish he had a new car of whatever model. And he said he had changed and was sincere now.

I wonder why he was crying before they started taping. Well, probably because it was the finale & I'm sure that's quite emotional... His performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" was flawless. That's a f**king hard song to do...I give him crazy mad props because I know I should. He's no Marty Casey, though. Haha.

Interesting. I was at the taping where Marty sang "Don't Change." They had to edit the long long applause that followed his performance. I never thought I'd enjoy that song sung by anyone but Michael Hutchence, but Marty did it justice in his own way. All while he was singing it I thought to myself, "I really hope INXS does NOT pick him because he is too good for INXS."
And JD laughing about the Civic! Ha! I'm offended ..I drive a Civic! Michael....RIP...Glad this Rockstar thing is over for your memories sake.

Interesting !!! None of those things surprise me about JD, I have thought from show one that he is not a very nice person and is totally in love with himself. I think the rest of INXS are going to have thier hands full coping with his ego! I really wanted Mig to win although I am a huge Marty fan. I am just glad Marty gets to support INXS with his band and then we can see REAL talent!!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience!! I'm so proud of Marty. I hope he's realized by now the impact he has made! I'm not surprised about JD - he might've brown-nosed his way to win this, but his true colors will show soon enough. Although I wanted Marty to win it was just for the sake of winning. I always thought he was too good for INXS... so I'm glad he'll be able to shine on his own now... and cannot wait to see more of him...

Wow...interesting and thanks for sharing. Marty Casey is such a class act!! JD Fortune, unfortunately isnt. How tacky to be making fun of a FREE brand new car, no matter what the model. Shows me a real lack of class on his part. What...hes so HUGE now, that he can be so picky? I wish INXS alot of luck with him, because I think they are going to need it. Hes their problem now. All I really care about, is Marty, and where he will be going from here, because we all know, he was the real STAR of the show.

Thank you so much for your dirt. If you recall anymore, please post. Brooke should keep her plastic hiney away from Marty, lol. I thought Mig appeared very emotional. If I were in their position I would have been crying like a little baby. I was a nervous wreck waiting for & watching the finale. I can't imagine the pressure they must have felt...WOW. JD, not suprised. Still haven't heard of him actually donating the car either....big shocker huh. I guess a civic isn't large enough for JD & his ego to live in. Well he's got the band to mooch off of for the time being. I would be thrilled to have a Honda civic right now. Honda's are bulletproof and great on gas. He's such an idiot. I wonder if INXS is sick of babysitting him yet. Hopefully INXS' attorneys have covered their a**es leaving them an option to drop JD prior to the year end if they feel it necessary.
What was the jist of Mark Burnetts speech?
Did you happen to catch Marty's bandmate's (in the balcony) response to the offer of opening for the tour when Marty looked up at him?

absolutely. i wanted Marty to win because he was my favorite and i wanted him to get as much exposure as possible. but since he still gets to play on their world tour, only he gets to play with HIS band, i'm even happier for him. and he's the only reason i plan on buying a ticket if they come to my state.

Dude, the car thing pissed me off the most. Because of that Katrina comment he made at some point earlier. What a hypocrit! Also, Dave Navarro was joining in on making fun of the car, too. Ha.
Mark Burnett was basically patting himself on the back during his speech. It was boring and didn't really get the crowd riled up. I mean, hello? We were waiting for Marty to come out! Jeff Probst and his girlfriend were there, too. To support the bossman, I guess.
Treehugr, I did NOT catch that!!! I saw him looking up in the balcony..several times for that matter, but didn't know it was his bandmember up there. Sweet! I guess that's where they put all the friends and family?
JD thinks that he's perfect for the band because he "loves them and respects them." Gross. I seriously will pay big bucks to see Marty but I'm out of there after he's finished.

Thanks that was so interesting. I'm so happy to read that the crowd was showing the Marty-love. JD shows his true colours I guess eh? Ungrateful is right. Too bad, I was starting to think maybe he was a good guy afterall.

Yeah, it was awesome, audly!! The crowd (me included) was so pumped for Marty that it was out of control. Even JD started chanting along with everyone else, too. HA!
INXS replies with, "Gee. I think they like you, mate."

Hi - I am a new fan of Marty after watching Rockstar. He was definitely miles better than the rest but glad he didnt end up in Inxs as he has much more talent. I have raved to anyone and everyone who will listen and will be downloading his music so everyone will suffer until they agree - he is the best!!!! Also ordered CD to be shipped over as nothing by Marty and the band in the UK - but I am sure there soon will be!

Well, even though it isn't so nice to say, a Civic is a small, non-cool car. It's not a real rockstar vehicle. Even AI gave Bo a Mustang (which he customized to make it cooler.)

Well, my Mom taught me that when someone gives you ANYTHING, you say thank you and appreciate the gesture and the intent, if nothing else and NEVER give out negative vibes that might hurt someone's feelings. I drive a Honda CRV, which is a Civic base built up for a small SUV, and I love it, especially when gas goes up! Its CD player plays Marty Casey songs just fine and I am happy. If he is REALLY cool, then he can also be nice! Wasn't he homeless at some point? Usually that would be an experience to bring a lot of things into perspective. I actually feel sorry for him; he is missing a lot of important things in life.

That is so great to hear about everyone cheering on Marty and how sweet is that of Mig! As for JD what else would you expect. He really doesnt have much class and Im not saying that bitterly either. I think the best has happened for Marty, being able to play with his own band. We definatly have not herd the last of him.

Well, even though it isn't so nice to say, a Civic is a small, non-cool car. It's not a real rockstar vehicle. Even AI gave Bo a Mustang (which he customized to make it cooler.) I agree that the Civic isn't the sportiest car on the road and don't want to get into a "car wars" debate here BUT AI gave the first round of contestants a Ford Focus. Honda was a RS sponsor. As for JD being homeless! Ha! Do your research on him. You'll find that bio to be as true as Kid Rock growing up in a trailer park. When I first heard that about JD I thought that WOULD make an interesting bio for a singer and could help him write some cool blues songs. Then I found out he quit his job as a martial arts instructor to be in RS. (Oh and he DID live in his car for a few nights, here and there, in between jobs! I guess that qualifies as "homeless.") So what INXS ended up with is some former Elvis Impersonator who was influenced by INXS who also teaches martial arts.
