BTW, it seems Marty was correct about he and Jordis being co-writers of Pretty Vegas, even after all the JD fans came out and crucified him for the statement: Read this from a fan who has a received the CD liner. Mr. Casey & Miss Unga are co-credited along with Mr. Fortune for writing Pretty Vegas www.livejournal.com/users/venus__/100799.htmlGlad that's been cleared up. People got really vicious over the radio interview Marty did. I thought it was pretty stupid for people to doubt him considering that the entire clinic was recorded on camera. I'm happy to see that Suzie & Deanna are involved with the record, too!

I defended Marty's integrity against bashers on MSN because Marty said he cowrote the song. I guess we can believe the poster "Venus" as she didn't seem impressed with Marty and Jordis cowriting PV. I never understood the hostility resonating from JD fans about Marty helping cowrite PV. I guess I would understand it if I was a JD fan.

As a fan of both Marty and JD, it's bugs me to see disrespect of either. In fact, I caused a bit of a kerfuffle on the fortune448 (JD fansite) forums when I objected to folks overly praising JD while simultaneously denigrating other rockers. So I'm actually quite pleased to see Marty (and Jordis to a lesser degree) acknowledged for "Pretty Vegas".

He deserves it after all the nasty bashing that came his way with all the JD fans. I wish the RS msn boards were still open fpr discussion so I that I can go and gloat and rub it in every JD'ers face that wrongfully trashed Marty. Am I a bad person??? Oh, they just made me so mad I could have spit!!

Sweetcheeks, feel the same way...Just so glad Marty's name has been cleared...the bashing was absurd. Wish we could all just say "told you so"...sorry if it sounds juvenille, but they were so hurtful....and Marty certainly didn't deserve that.

Sorry, that's a little off-topic. I was just curious.

Hi. I visit Fortune448 sometimes as I check in with Melanie the webmaster periodically as we trade things for our sites..... and I have seen your valiant efforts on the message board to be fair to all. So thank you for that and we appreciate you stopping by our world to say hello.
You are a class act as a fan... and I applaud your bravery. I am not big on effusive deification of one's chosen celebrity...and I hope if you see too much of that going on here, you point it out too.
Anyway, welcome!

I am not big on effusive deification of one's chosen celebrity...and I hope if you see too much of that going on here, you point it out too. Not big on effusive deification??? Point it out??? Eeeek, Cindy, am I gonna get kicked out? I'm not big on it myself actually (although you'd never know it). Every human being is equally important in my eyes, and I never could understand celebrity fuss. Respect and admiration sure, but worship??? I've built a rather cynical wall as far as that is concerned, I have my favs but would probably never do more than give them a quick grin if I passed them on the street, or pass them a note just to let them know that someone loves what they do. I would love to meet them, but what would be the point unless it was a situation where I could actually get to know them . . . and it would only be worthwhile if they were interested in getting to know me. In my eyes, posting on a fan website is already going overboard. So fine . . . I'm a goner. Marty got over the wall, through the guards, and under the barbed wire fence. Following him adds something of value to my life . . . not only because I respect and admire what he does . . . but also because it brings out the best in ME, and being here allows me to stretch my wings. I know I've used the word love before . . . but it's love from the soul of one human being who has recognized something in the soul of another. So go ahead, just try to kick me out. . . I'm not going anywhere (btw - no I didn't really take it personally Cindy, I just saw myself in what you said and did a little soul searching) (btww - just to stay on topic - i did like pretty Vegas and I think there was a lot more to JD underneath the surface than came across on TV. Actually, it did come across on TV, but all anyone ever seems to talk about was "all the other stuff". Did anyone read any of his blogs on Rockstar? The boy has HEART )

I was not even remotely thinking of you. What I saw was over on fortune448 there were some really over the top "he walks on water" and everyone else is vile stuff. Both are extremes I think and in their over the top comparison, discredit the intent of the post to me.
So Marty love, praise ok. I can squee with the best of them (although I mostly squee in private). But the idea that someone is completely perfect and anyone who might suggest otherwise is vile and evil is a bit much.

That's just one of the (MANY) things I like about this board, Cindy. There's nothing mean-spirited going on here. I've read many complimentary comments about many of the RSINXS performers here. (I'll admit that we use JD as the comic foil in many of our stories on the 18+ board, but it's always in good fun.) I like that the Marty fans here don't feel the need to put others down just because we love Marty. I think Jordis is amazingly talented (will definitely be buying her album when it comes out). I'm also looking forward to hearing what Ty will release and I think Deanna has an awesome voice. Mig seems like a really sweet guy and JD's from Nova Scotia (like me). Acknowledging the talent of others in no way diminishes our recognition (and love) of Marty's (and all the LH's) music.

Thanks for posting that Cindy! I spent some time last night trying to find the sheet music of the song or where it was published to see it officially.
Does anyone else feel more compelled to buy it now? I might have to grab it along with the single for Trees when that comes out ;D

I'll buy it to send some money to Marty and Jordis! I'll bet that Doc McGhee went bad-ass all over INXS, and got that put right in a hurry. I think the message has now been sent to the music industry--nobody will get away with messing over Mr. Casey. Heh heh...what's up, Doc?

Thanks Cindy for posting the CD insert. I'm glad Marty and Jordis got the credit that they deserved.
As far as JD goes, during RS I thought he had some talent. He needed to get more experience and much further away from his Vegas/Elvis act. In one of Marty's interviews he was asked if he could buy one performer's CD from the RS cast which one would it be and he chose JD's (without INXS). Marty knows JD's character and talent. It will be interesting to see how JD grows as a performer.

if you like the song pretty vegas you cant go on vh1.com and you can see the full length video of the song.wheter you are a jd fan or not the video was pretty good. Saw the video -- not impressed. Not a JD lover. Loved INXS with MH. Could have loved INXS with MC. Not thrilled at all with present INXS. Much more interested in the opening act. If the tour makes it to Texas, I might stay for an INXS song or two, but they are definitely NOT the reason for seeing the show.
