if you like the song pretty vegas you cant go on vh1.com and you can see the full length video of the song.wheter you are a jd fan or not the video was pretty good.

Thanks. My husband was not crazy about the song on RS but he said it was pretty good. And he is very critical about music and doesn't like hoaky (sp?) stuff.

lurked at the rockband site and someone posted that in Australia one of the distributors of the single has Jordis and Marty as co-writers of Pretty Vegas. This has the JD lovers in a tizzy.

I played it last night and I thought it was pretty good too. I am still a die-hard Marty fan but I know the concert with INXS will be a good one. But I only bought my tickets just to see Marty and the LH. ;D

Not a bash, but the PV video reminds me a little too much of their video for "Kiss The Dirt (Falling Down The Mountain)" – I would have liked to see them go in a completely new direction. I like the song and the new video, but I'm never sure if it's because I like it for itself alone . . . or for the fact that it reminds me so much of Rockstar INXS . . . or because it makes me think of Marty. Hmmmm . . . i may never figure that out.  I agree with you about the new direction though, that would have made things more interesting. HOWEVER, we all know that while watching Rockstar, the thought was going through our heads that if they picked Marty he would really shake things up for them and take them to the next level. The big question was . . . is that what they wanted. Apparently not! By picking JD . . . and I do like him by the way . . . they have rejuvenated the the old INXS. They held true to their history but freshened up their image. What they have NOT done is sent themselves in a new direction, and they probably never wanted to. Those of us who did . . . are following Marty  |

After the group songwriting episode, Marty wrote something in his blog about being glad to hear that JD had kept some stuff he and Jordis had contributed in his version of the song. It's not a bad song, but, IMHO, it would be an even better song if JD had accepted MORE help from Marty and Jordis. |

I've read that in a couple of different places now from people who've seen the liner notes. The MSN boards, in particular, became unbelievably nasty toward Marty when he made that statement for reasons that still don't make much sense to me. It's nice to have the issue cleared up. |

I was certain that Marty wouldn't have said he and Jordis co-wrote PV if it wasn't a fact ... but I did wonder if their contributions would ever be officially acknowledged. I thought they might have signed some kind of special agreement with INXS that could have caused their names to be suppressed in the published PV credits.
So, this is much better than I'd hoped for!

Glad Marty and Jordis are gettin' the credit they deserve...never understood the JD fan hostility over Marty's comments especially since (I believe) even JD himself admited that he used some of their stuff from the group songwriting clinic on PV when he branched from them.
Saw the vid of VH1.com and I had mixed feelings about it. For the most part I really dug it but there were parts that were really silly (like this weird 80s throwback thrift in the middle - probably INXS's idea)...I guess, if I ever saw it on TV, I'd sit and watch it.

I found it upsetting in the extreme. I also think it's interesting that during that whole brouhaha several weeks ago, some MSN posters claimed to have received e-mails from INXS.com that aknowledged only A. Farriss and J.D. Fortune as PV writers — and now this happens. If the content of those e-mails was accurately reported, this new news definitely suggests something might have changed between then and the printing of those liner notes, which in turn suggests the possibility that intervention helped make it happen. BTW, is that you, mrbrightside? ;D |
