Hello, just back from an LA weekend and what a blast it was! What fun to celebrate Polarfan's b-day at the Supernova taping with all my girls, then meet up with Doc and her hubby for a fun dinner too! And Doc, Divaguy thinks you are the funniest person on the planet and thanks girls--he laughed so much at dinner as did we all.

Yes Lukas was making googley eyes at Kimberly the whole show and lucky Jodie and Kimberly actually spoke to Lukas and Toby. Our viewing spot to see the rockers was superb, but it wasnt optimal to see Dave, Supernova or the performers so it should be interesting to see it later on TV.

I must say I completely agree with K87 and Jodie about "Save the drama for your mama" Dilana. Na na na na hey hey hey Goodbye.

I love Magni--and he is hotter in person actually --his guyliner is too cute but when there are all the other characters who act and dress the part, after awhile being a good singer who just rocks up there in a T-shirt and jeans is just not enough anymore. Sorry.

I LOVE Lukas, but not quite like Jodie and Kimberly do so although his "Livin on a prayer" slayed me, his own original was good and scream worthy just not delerium for me.

Toby is my fave and I know how much Mr Brightside will be compared to Marty. It was unlike Marty's version which was excellent --full band type version but it was very good but not stellar either. However when it came time for the original--that was a highlight, a very riffy, catchy tune..Jodie explained the chorus already so instantly likeable and sticks in your head. Reminded me of last year seeing Marty do the debut of Trees at the taping and Divaguy and I sung it all the way home........that was Toby's original for me. Toby is quite gimmicky in some ways--some have said cheesy--which I find perfect for Supernova because they are the biggest gimmicky cheeseheads on the planet. However this time you could see a method to Toby's madness for going into the crowd. His adorable Mum and dad were back there in the seats! Toby is so damn hot in person I must say too--6'2" of solid aussie boy hotness. Hmm hm.

But I reserve the best for last and give props where props are due. Performance of the night for me--most well rounded, and best crowd interaction in between songs..best cover performance and Best original song--hands down: Storm. Surprising? Yes, but Pleasantly.

Of course at this stage everyone ends up on the bottom 3, so to me its a toss up but I think Dilana should go home. Hate to say but her fan base is strong as is Lukas so Toby, Magni, Storm Bottom 3.

But overall a fun fun show. Oh yeah Jason's dad was there besides Toby's parents and T Lee's Kids. They also announced a 2nd Supernova New years day show as the 1st one sold out and I dont know if this will make it on TV but SN asked Dave to come on tour with them too. Now Panic channel with them--I might actually pay money to see that!

Cant wait for the show and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.
I bought Rafael and Nate's CD. Jim is a doll too and I cant wait to see the wristband photo of us with the house band. Good times

The taping was a great way to spend my b-day and I want to thank all my Cali girls for making it a great day ***smile***
But most of all I want to thank Storm for somehow knowing it was my b-day and putting on her best performance ever! (yes I'm dillusional...EVS!) Toby ran right past me during his performance and he was good I really liked his original. A lot. The chorus has been stuck in my head for two days now. ***grin**
Dilana, I'm a huge fun but she is having a PR meltdown of epic proportions. It's kind of like when we all felt Jordis sort of gave up but worse. ***sigh**
Magni was solid but not real stand out. Lukas I wasn't totally sold on the cover, but his original was pretty good I think it would stand right up there with AFI, MCR, etc that's why IMHO I don't think Lukas would fit in with SN cuz his music is a different vibe.
I hate to compare but it would be like if Marty had won RSINXS. Sure he and INXS could have made some good music together but it wouldn't have been a long term thing.

Anyway overall I think it was the best taping and I hope it all translates as well on TV cuz it was great show.
Can't wait to hear what you all think about it and I'm excited about being able to go to the taping tomorrow ***grin**

Toby is my hands down favorite and he was awesome Sunday. However, I am smart enough to realize that Lukas will walk away the winner in this show.

That's OK 'cause Toby's band Juke Kartel is very good and I hope this will give them some American exposure. Check out their myspace for the original song he sang Sunday. It's got a bit of a punk beat and oh yes - the chorus it catchy. You won't be disappointed!

probably want a "hard" rocker. In listening to their music the
past 3 weeks, I think Toby has MORE than an excellent shot at
lead singer.

LaineyTsang went on a bashing Marty tangent saying he was embarrassing to watch since he was so bad and couldn't sing his way out of a paper bag!!! I am finally calming down now that I heard her comical performance on myspace. I realize that she is just jealous, Marty must've turned down her advances or something. Her reviews of him had her foaming at the mouth. She ain't all that for sure.

you are right , I go there for spoilers about live tapings Sunday night and I just didn't expect the MC bashing. IT was so LEFT FIELD. She was saying he has become a has been and sold no albums... I wish there was a way to send her some LH' s links but
she wouldn't listen.
On A nicer note My niece who is 14 and into rap likes Marty now, "call of distress" is her story about her and her 1st boyfriend to a T and she loves Marty she thinks he is HOT!!
Well Duh? Smokin Yummy Hot.

OK...So I just wanted to tell everyone a bit of the drama from the live taping that they did not air on the show tonight (of course, because it would definately sway some votes in Lukas' favor)

after Lukas sang...Tommy said all his career he has wanted to work with someone who looked, sang, and performed like Lukas!

then they had to back peddle and tell all the rockers that the competition wasn't over by any means. I was curious to see if they would air that comment.

anyway I said in my review I would give this info if they didn't air it...so......

Today's Elimination show was awesome!!!!!!!

The peformances were top notch

Even though it was hard to see someone go home - I'm glad that K87, Polar and I got to go!!!!!

The vibe of a Wednesday show is a lot different than a peformance taping. The rockers and the house band were a bit more laid back and there was a lot of interaction with the fans.

Can't wait to chat about it tomorrow!!!!!

Wow!! It is fun to read how everyone feels about all of the rockers. I am not a Lukas fan--I mean he seems cool and has the whole "look", but the voice does nothing for me.

I was a huge Dilana fan and thought she had in wrapped up until the last few weeks.

I'm hoping/betting on Toby--he has the look, the voice, the young and old love him, and he seems to be able to write. That is something that SN is going to need, since their tracks so far haven't been prize winners. I think the band will go far w/Toby.

Yesterday's RS taping was Incredible! This is gonna be long - hope I don't lose you...

I have to start out with a shout out to my mom who in supporting my Toby obsession scored some awesome VIP tickets!

We arrived and parked in the studio parking (yay - no $20 to park at the grove or walking a mile for free parking!!!)

Then we walked around to the artists entrance and immediatley see Jason hanging out with the house band! We check in and get our VIP wristbands. I call our VIP contact and she comes out to get us and takes us back to the VIP waiting room - very cool decorated in the RS theme! We use the restroom to freshen up - (yay again!!! - don't have to use the porta pots outside)

Renee, our contact comes back to get us and asks were we want to stand - duh - up front of course. So, she escorts us though the backstage and takes us to the left side of the catwalk between the stage and the rockers pit. We stop and she says - oh no, you need to be closer - so she pushes through and we are just a few people back from the stage. My niece is actually at the catwalk for most of the performance. Awesome viewing!!!

So the show starts - Brook comes out and does a bunch of pick ups for the international viewers - yawn...

Then the house band comes out to warm up the crowd with a song. Paul announces a guest singer - a contestant from RSINXS - it's Suzie McNeil. She sang Bohemian Rhapsody and it was incredible! I don't know if it was taped for TV or just for the audience - but it was great. In the back of my mind - I was hoping they'd call out Marty to sing next - but no luck.

A friend of Toby's family comes through the audience to see who the Toby fans are and asks them to hold signs that Toby's dad made - how sweet is that!!! When she asks us I tell her that we are Australian (1/4 - it counts!) so she says she has a special pink sign for my niece to hold - very cool !

The audience warm up guy is giving away signed Brooke Burke lingere calendars. Some how Dave ended up with one and opened the show looking at it - pin up style. What a bad boy that Dave is

The Fan Favorite is announced - (I won't give that away ) and that person does a great job with their song. Then they clear out the right side of the audience and bring in a car - surprise! - the fan favorite also wins a Honda SUV.

Dave announces that the 4 rockers will each sing their original song plus a cover. The covers were chosen from a list of all the songs performed this season plus a few extra.

Toby was the first rocker and sang his cover acompanied by Magni on guitar. During the song, Toby writes EVS on the back of Magni's head in black marker - very clever. Then Magni kneeled in front of Toby and held his guitar up to him. Toby played the guitar a bit which was cool but I think it looked a little odd from certain angles if you know what I mean. Toby did his original which was good, but we've heard it 3 times now...

Lukas is up next and I feel somone trying to push in front of me. She says that she's Lukas' aunt and she like to see him perform up close. I'm thinking yeah right - you're his aunt until I turn around and she's like 5 ft nothing and looks just like Lukas. OK, so she is is aunt - I let her go up front to watch him. His cover is fantastic and he does his original acoustic. Very nice way to change it up - Tommy was falling over himself to compliment Lukas (as usual )

Magni performs a fantastic cover, but his original is easily forgetable and Tommy lets him know that.

Dilana closes the show with an awesome remake of a song that was previously ruined by another rocker. Toby, Lukas & Magni come out and sing back up for her. She's using a cane during the first song, but throws it to the side for her original and is all over the place. She went out into the audience and tore it up on both sides of the VIP seating area. She did high kicks galore. I guess she 'healed' herself as she predicted. After her performance, Dave asked her how her calf is doing - she says "It's killing me right now" Vocally and peformance wise - I think the old Dilana is back! Dilana gets huge kudos from Tommy for getting the 3 contestants to sing 'back-up' for her.

After the show is over we shuffle past the rockers pit and they are signing autographs so my niece grabs my sign, hands it up to Toby and he signs it!

I pull out my ticket from the show and am just about to hand it up to Lukas (for K87 of course!) when they security cuts us off and says thats it for autographs - Sorry Kimberly - I tried.

Well, that's all folks - hope I didn't bore you too much, there are so many more details running through my mind and I could go on and on, but you'll just have to watch the show to see it all!
