I'll echo what everyone else is saying, and add that doesn't it seem that Supernova are a little too critical of song choice?Who is it that decides what is offered? Why aren't they given some better/harder stuff to choose from, and quit recycling music from last year! It seems that not many of the choices even come close to reflecting Supernovas roots.

Jenny got the ax. She was cute but not rock. When is it Z's turn? Why have they kept her this long? I loved her reaction to possibly being in the bottom three again "How many time do I have to do this?" Till your gone chickie! Oh, and by a slip for heaven sakes.

It blows my mind how little I care about what happens to almost all of these people. I now get perverse satisfaction out of watching them go home, one by one. And sitting through the interminably long songs during the elimination show is pure torture. What genius at CBS figured that we would want to watch the worst ones spend even more time on stage than they did last year?

While I was watching last night, I remembered just how much I disliked the elimination episodes in the early and middle parts of the show. It is just booooring waiting for the obvious boots (Dana, Ryan, etc. this time - Wil, Jessica, etc. last time) to get over and done with so we can get to the meat of the show.

Jenny has a great voice and talent, but can't rock it. I compare her to an up and coming Sheryl Crow maybe. I know what you guys mean aout not really caring who leaves. At this point. I liked Chris and Matt, but knew they'd have to go sooner or later. The only ones left that really look forward to seeing on stage and on the reality are Lukas, Phil, Toby and Dilana. Phil has really grown on me. Not so much because of his vocal ability, but because of his personality. So laid back and tell it like it is. I thought his comment was funny on the last reality show where the girls were inside screaming and fighting for their songs and he calmly stated "that's what women do". And when he did White Rabbit the other night I think Dave made the comment why haven't we heard this kind of energy from you before and Phil said "I've been storing it up". I just find him such a sweetie. I hope he stays for a long time even though I know the winner will be Lukas or Dilana.

I forgot to mention Magni. He's become a noteworthy contender lately too. I just want to know when they'll start bringing guests on there! Namely Marty! Maybe he'll come to visit the contestents on a reality episode and give them some musical pointers! A Marty clinic!!

Maybe he'll come to visit the contestents on a reality episode and give them some musical pointers! A Marty clinic!! A Marty clinic - what a splendid idea ;D. The contestants could really do with that. It crossed my mind to skip watching RS maybe for the next 4 or 5 weeks because I really want to send home few contestants a.s.a.p., but of course I can´t skip it, I´m counting the days until the next show. Magni, Toby, Lukas and Dilana ... ROCK ON !

I just want to know when they'll start bringing guests on there! Namely Marty! There was an article in the LA Times about the show. They mentioned future guests but didn't list Marty (prob. just a partial list). Go to tinyurl.com/rwunlsearch for supernova and it's called "Rockin' out for real -- uh, Take 2"

Go to tinyurl.com/rwunlsearch for supernova and it's called "Rockin' out for real -- uh, Take 2" Thanks for that link, mrsbud! It's an interesting read. I like what Dave Navarro said: ""God love pop, but at the end of the day, those other shows are shaping somebody into a pop artist," says Navarro. "They tell them to wear their hair differently and give them a new stylist and package them, whereas with a rock star, it's so much about the heart and the soul, there's really no way to teach it. If it's there, it's there; if it's not, it's not." Didn't we all see it "there" in Marty - from the get-go? The difference between pop and rock...a breed apart. I figured Marty would be a guest Wed. as they were in town. They did their "Clinic" at the Roxy. ;D

Can't wait to see Marty on the show. I have co-workers asking me when he is going to be on. That is pretty bad when the only thing you are looking forward to is Marty coming on the show and Zayra getting the boot. BTW: Magni did much better this week...please get rid of the buggy fly eyed glasses.

I do so agree with you Dlh, Magni must get rid of his sunglasses. It´s cool for a few seconds but not through the entire song. I hate when performers cover their eyes.
By the way, I must share something with you all. I was really surprised yesterday when I turned on my radio. They were playing Marty´s version of Baby hit me one more time. You can just imagine that I was just one big ear. I soon found out that it was not Marty that was singing. That thing I was listening to was a broadcast from some gig in bar in Reykjavik/Iceland.
It was so much fun hearing it because the perfomer did a great job singing it. I was actually proud when I heard it and thought; Yes this is Marty´s version, he arrange it like that and the Icelandic performer did the rest very well. It´s just awesome that this phenomenal version is kept alive.
I can also tell you that this performer went to audition for Rock Star Supernova. He sang here in Iceland and did a great job and was asked to audition in LA but unfortunately he did not make it on the TV shows. Watching the shows now I can NOT understand why because he is really good.

. . . . I like what Dave Navarro said: . . . . with a rock star, it's so much about the heart and the soul, there's really no way to teach it. If it's there, it's there; if it's not, it's not." Didn't we all see it "there" in Marty - from the get-go? The difference between pop and rock...a breed apart. I'm sure someone already said this on some thread or another. All the "rockers" this year are told to focus their energy on their performance (i.e., move, stupid!). If Marty had done his first two performances from last year, Supernova would have loved it. Instead, Marty was told to channel that energy into standing still and singing. Granted, we wouldn't have had "Creep" and many other greats from him last season, but it's an interesting juxtaposition. As MiG said at the Roxy, Marty WOULD be much better suited to this season. But then we wouldn't have Lovehammers. So I guess all's well that ends well.

Ok, so I was on the RS..SN website and checked out the blogs from the rockers and was totally unimpressed by the fact that they seem to have no idea the magnitude of the opportunity they have here. No one seems to realize that this is their chance of a lifetime. So I got nostalgic for Marty (surprise) and went to the home page here and went through each of the eppisodes all over again. RS..SN is ok for a little entertainment, but does not come anywhere close to last year. Also, I have to echo the thought that Marty would have been better suited for SN, but I LOVE him with Lovehammers, so I'm glad it turned out this way.

I finally got a chance to watch the show and kick off episode...I have to say that this is the first time that I got what people see in Phil. I probably liked his performance the best of anyone this time and I hadn't really had any feeling one way of the other before. Loved the whole demon look through the hair! He sounds great singing harder music and I hope he keeps it up!
Can someone explain the origin of 'dirtyphil' to me? I assume it's along the lines of calling Marty Peaches and J.D. Asshat last year. A term of endearment? ;D

I'm curious ... isn't this show taped? If so, how can they be showing the bottom three before they leave the air? Is there some mystery voting going on somewhere?

I'm curious ... isn't this show taped? If so, how can they be showing the bottom three before they leave the air? Is there some mystery voting going on somewhere? It's one of two theories I have. Have you noticed that when Brooke is talking about the bottom three that she's standing by herself and doesn't actually say the names of the bottom 3? It's pre-taped and added at the last minute with one of two voting results: actual results from computer voting OR from the score cards people fill out as they're leaving the taping.
