I still love to hear Marty sing you look wonderful tonight by eric clapton. I could just sit there and be mezmerized by his voice, the look in his eyes. Man I would feel wonderful that night if he sang that song. MMMMMMMMMMMM I never saw this thread before, what great suggestions everyone has. Eric Claptin would have to get my vote because it was my wedding song, and the thought of Marty singing it well I would just melt.

That is one of my favorite songs (and the song played for the last dance at my wedding). I would love to see that...great choice. Guess I should have read back farther hoot you and hubby made a great choice.

I don't have the strength to read through all thirteen pages so I don't duplicate. That being the case I'm choosing a song almost forty years old recorded by Bob Dylan ,yes that Bob Dylan and it IS NOT his usual fare!! The song is Ballad of a Thin Man it's off HWY #61 Revisited, recorded about 1963. It's one of my favorite tunes and it's edgy, twisted and a little dark. I would love to hear Marty's arrangment. "And you don't know what's happin here, do you, Mr. Jones."

I vote for The Pixies "Cactus", but Bowie's version. I'd love to SEE Marty and the band do Bowie's "Suffragette City". And,I wonder what they could do with the Allman Bros., "Midnight Rider"

One song that I wanted to hear sooooooooo bad when hes was on Rockstar was "I need you tonight" by INXS. That song is so freakin sexy and I thought if Marty sang it he would have won for sure. I'd still like to hear it from him with his own twists Jilly

How about something classic like Police: "Every breath you take"? I think Marty can make his "angry" crescendo in a middle of it, kind of like he did in "I alone" by the end, and keep the verse dark and quiet...

I'll just be weird here a moment and toss up a group/song I hope no one else has mentioned (I'm too lazy to read them all XD;; You guys are exceedingly prolific!)
I'd love to hear Marty singing "Lift" By Poets of the Fall. I think it would be a very interesting cover, to say the least. Or perhaps "Break Me, Shake Me" by Savage Garden (I've always wanted to hear it in a harder setting).

I was looking at the menu graphix and thought "The long and winding road" by the Beatles would be an awesome song for Marty to sing and "Get Back" would be a cool LH's song to record as well. I'd be psyched about anything by the Beatles, LH's could totally pull it off Jilly

I have to agree with wendyc122. Lou Reed's "Take a Walk on the Wild Side. I love it when Marty sings softly in a low voice He would kill on that song. The other thing I love about Marty's singing is when he gets to a part in a song that builds and builds and builds and then bends back and really lets it rip. Classic example is "Lithium". I go nuts when I watch the video of Marty singing "Lithium". Marty is so blanking blankable. Arrggg. Marty mesmerizes me like no other.

Marty once listed Syd Barrett as one of the people he'd most like to meet. I have been a fan of Syd's for years, and there is a song called Late Night that I would love to hear Marty sing. He could strip it down and do it acoustic, or he could keep it very ethereal like the original. One of my favorite bands the BoDeans have a song called Feed the Fire which Lovehammers could rock out. I think I'd pass out if I saw Marty sing that live.
