I thought it would be fun to see what kind of “Pets” Marty fans own.
I have a blue tortoise shell Persian cat named “Sable” and she is 19 years old and counting! She thinks she is a human and we just let her believe that!
“Chanel” is my 12 year old blue-point Himalayan cat. She is insane and has an attitude I just love. I’ll try to post a picture of my 2 cats when I have more time.
In a 30 Gallon tank is my Black Bullhead Catfish “Lucky.” My brother brought him to me from a bait shop that a friend of his owns. He was in a little Styrofoam cup and they were going to flush him because he had gotten into the bait. Now he is three years old and the happiest damn fish you’ll ever see!
I have a tank with an Oscar named “Killer” because he will kill any other fish that enters the tank including other Oscars. He won't eat them---he just kills them, so he will spend his life alone.
7 Betta fish and one more tank with 5 Tropical catfish and 1 Guppy.
And last, but not least………I have CRABS!!! LOL….Hermit Crabs that is! I have a wonderful setup with 15 different types of crabs. I’ve become quite the “Crab” expert. They are so much fun! They talk by “chirping” and they are actually quite active. Crabs also come in crazy colors according to their species (bright red, green, blue, white, purple, brown etc.)
I know I didn’t mention a dog, but my German Shepard, Dakota, died a couple years ago. I took it so hard that I couldn't get another one right away. This spring I will be bring home another one and he will be named “Indiana” and “Indy” for short.
Ok….it’s your turn to brag about your pets!!!!!!!

I am a very proud part owner of a male Maltese. His name is "Thumper". I say part owner because his real owner is 8 years old. Great grannie bought Thumper for the great grandson so he could take him for walks and have a playmate. Responsibility waned, owner started grade 1, long story short... couldn't take care of him. I walked in, for a visit, showed the sweet little puppy some affection ....took the pup home for a week to see if the owner missed him. Well I have had "Thump" for almost a year now. Thumper got his name from the owner because Granny asked what he wanted to call his new dog, Greatgrandson only knew one dog (which was a big black Lab named Thumper) so he says "Thumper" There's a picture on Marty's Fan Map. Couldn't resist putting the photo on the site because he's sending Marty a kiss. My last dog was a Pom, RIP, 16 years ago. So I really didn't want to get bonded with another dog. Now that I have bonded with Thump hehehe he is just a delight. My first reality check, that I was his owner, was flying from BC to Alberta last New Year's to visit my brother. It was like travelling with a baby!! I get to Alberta and the temperature is minus 39 degrees! I was a nervous wreck. Lucky I was told to check out Malteseonly.com to find out how to handle any situation concerning a maltese. This little bundle of love has given me hours of exercise, laughter, learned patience and acceptance along with healing energy. I know one of these days he will go back to his owner, probably in another 10 years So there you are, this Marty Fan is owned by a Maltese.

I have a flame point Himalayan kitty. He is large, fluffy, but has a rather nasty disposition. For those who don't know the term flame point, it means he is cream colored with orangish tail and ears. My kitty is a lighter version of the flame point, which means his tail and ears and around his face is light, pale orange.
I have had many cats throughout my life and nearly all have been wonderful pets, but this one isn't too friendly to anyone but me. His name is e-Kitty.... named because I ordered him as a tiny kitten off the internet....back when ordering things like that wasn't done very often at all.

Cindy, I own a flame point siamese also but not Himalayan. He is about 15 now (also own a chocolate point about same age). He is one of the most loveable cats but only to me and my husband. He dislikes strangers and detests children - he always has as they are to loud and to fast. He talks to me. Wonder if this is there nature.

Well, I have my 13 year old Shetland Sheepdog (Miniature Collie), and her name is Sassy, of course after the Lassie look. I got her the second day my son was born on May 12, 1992, thought I needed more than just a newborn baby...She is really acting old now, lost allot of her back teeth, and I swear I'm going to have to start spoon feeding this one. Then the next year for my daughter's birthday...(she has to have everything her brother has, of course) I got her our now 12 year old German Shepherd...All white....AKC Registered....145 pound lump of love....Named Chompers...I have never experienced true love or dedication like I have with my Chompers...She's awesome. When she was just a pup, my neighbor hooked us up with some awesome training, and Chompers can be (when she is in the mood for) special training in Search and Rescue, we go to refresher courses every year, but she has never been called upon as of yet. Then we have our Miniature Schnauzer, because Chompers really attached to me and not really my daughter, so daughter of mine wanted another and 3 years ago on her birthday which is the Fourth of July, we got the Boomer Boy. This was my families first taste of male happiness in the animal kingdom, and oh my...was the Boomer Boy happy....Boomer and Old Sassy girl hooked up and there was nothing I could do about it....here I am screaming....nononooooooo.....and a Smackers was a result of the major accident between Sassy and the Boomer. She had only one pup, and the sounds that the little puppy made...well sounded like smacking....and of course we all fell in love with him....Smackers is now only a year old...and is giving Sassy gray hair....I know how she feels. We have fish in the kids bedroom....but mainly Chompers likes them, she can stare at them for hours...is funny funny. Never could get cats...even though I just love them....Chompers is very particular in whom we allow in our family.....And the Shepherd rules.......Great subject......I wonder if Chompers would scare Marty away, or just give him a big kiss? ? When she stands tall...she can put her front legs on your shoulders and still have room to look over your head.....LOL....See ya all later...Nancy...

Animal lover here---never had any growing up, but moved to a farm 12 years ago........ Rockbeast---I agree, the loss of a dog is terrible! Our precious golden retriever, Nutmeg died 2 years ago. She was 10 1/2, and the best dog you could ever ask for. We have an 11 1/2 year old Golden/Shepherd (looks just like a HUGE yellow lab) Sage. She's slowing down quite a bit lately. After Nutmeg died we got another Golden named Cajun (2 1/2) and a year later a black lab named Basil (1 1/2). (These two are so rambunctious!) My oldest daughter has 2 goldfish in her room, Goldy and OJ. Living on a farm, we had to get some cats----in the past 12 years we've had many barn cats. I am a teacher, and I give many away to students! We had 6 ducks at one time, but we think the coyotes got them. We do cash crops as second jobs, so no large farm animals, but I'd love to get a pig someday!

We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever mix named Barney that we adopted from the local Human Society. Very lovable and big. Very afraid of loud noises! He hates thunderstorms, fireworks, gunshots etc. In fact he has broken out of his very large secure pen on many occasions! He uses his mouth and teeth and nose to unhook the wire chain links at the bottom of the cage. He's so strong he once moved the whole pen 12 feet out. This past weekend our kid's threw my husband and I a 25th Wedding Anniversary party(Oct. 25th). We put Barney out in a brand new built 10x12 shed (during party) and an hour later he heard gunshot's going off way down the road, and next thing you know he broke the door down to the shed and escaped! He wanted to come in the house. Now we have to fix the door.
We had a beautiful collie/beagle mix dog named Buster . He was 19 year's old when he died last year. He walked up the road to visit his girlfriend of 16 years and on the way back home his heart gave out on him. We just hope he got some before he passed away! We all loved him!
I have a pet chicken named Mabel. She is a Rhode Island Red. She lay's a big brown egg almost every day. She and Barney are good friend's.
I also have a big variety of Bantam (small) chicken's. And this year got a few Turkey's. Some are on the endangered list. They are Bourbon Red's and are quite beautiful.(not for eating!) I plan on adding more varieties in the spring.

Fun Thread!! Ok, so here's my brood: Sadie and Nanook (Nanny for short) Both are chow mixes - Nanny is Golden Retreiver/Chow, Sadie is Terrier/Chow. Adopted these sweeties a few months ago from a shelter. I went there to adopt just one dog, but ended up taking them both home because I couldnt stand the thought that they would be put down because they were older and everyone there seemed only interested in the puppies. Nanny is 8+, Sadie is 4+. Binky and Sasha are my two beloved kitties. Binky (The big Main Coon in the front) I have had for 6 years, since he was a kitten the size of my fist. Now, 19 pounds later, he is my insistant love, who hits me with a fat paw if I dare to walk past him without giving him a little love. Sasha (the little black manx) has been with me since I found her half starved, flea ridden and her black hair sun bleached to red, digging through the dumpster for food in the back of an apartment complex I was living in 14 years ago. She is the sweetest, most sensitive kittie I have ever met, and whenever she gets excited, her limbs freeze and she falls over for a minute. It is terribly funny to watch her play, because she jumps around and then falls over stiff like one of those "Fainting Goats". and last...but not least...this is Budgy, my parakeet. Strange little thing. My husband brought him home to me as a gift right after one of my other beloved kitties died a little over a year ago. Budgy wouldnt have anything to do with any of us for about a year - he would actually try to attack us whenever we approached his cage. Now suddenly, after a year of abusing me, he has decided that I am his best friend, and he spends the day flying around me, landing on my shoulders/head/face and kisses me constantly. I have to try and hide from him first thing in the morning so as to have a chance to drink my coffee in peace, because he now wont spend a moment of the day without being my constant companion. And yes, all my babies live in a respectful peace with one another - they dont neccessarily all snuggle, but there is never a day that goes by that doesnt end with my two cats in my lap, both dogs on either side of me on the couch and the Bird sitting on my shoulder as I drink my evening tea and read a chapter of a good book before bed time. I live on five wooded acres about 15 miles from the ocean, and so we have a myriad of wildlife (wolves, deer, possums, racoons, chipmunks, squirrels, owls, hawks, etc. That live in and or around us and visit often, so, although I wouldnt call them pets, I am sure going broke leaving feeding stations around for all of them. ;D Thanks for the thread! It has really been a pleasure to get to know everyone here, and have a little peak into your lives!

I have a seventeen year old, psychotic, mean as hell Siamese male. He does love his mother though so I am a little safe (I sleep with only one eye open - the rest of the house sleeps with both eyes open!). Unfortunately, he is sickly and doc doesn't expect him to live to be 18. He has given me a life-time of funny stories, three trips to the hospital, etc. My first pet was a female siamese and she was so gentle and loving. They're great pets, but they know the are royalty and expect you to treat them as such. I should have named my male Henry the VIII - really crazy!

I have 1 (saved)dog, her name is Cassandra and she is 14 years old. I had got her when she was 1 yrs. old. She is a mixed breed. I have a one fish...a blue Betta. I have a (saved)kitten, she is 3 months old and I had named her Buffy(I couldn't resist, I had loved that show.) I had a (saved)cat, named Jasmine, for 4 1/2 years, but I had to put Jasmine to sleep on 9/14/05. She had feline leukemia. It was so heart wrenching. I miss her.

Since a couple of you have included photos of your birds, I'm attempting to attach a photo of mine -- I don't know if it will work. I'm still not very good at this. He is a lovebird named Ozzy. He doesn't have a mate, but that doesn't seem to bother him. Yes, he looks innocent, but he has sex for about 5 hours a day with anything he can get his hands on (so to speak)...his toys, my nailpolish bottles, highlighter pens...nothing is safe.

We are a blended family hee (2 families together) so we have an 11 white samoyed named Kai, a 3 year old red golden retriever who was a rescued dog, named Jessie, & a cockatiel who goes by King Arthur and absolutely will not shut up. I have my little prosiac fuzzybutt who is 11 and named Andi Panda (Andi). He's part Lapsa Alpsa & part cocker spaniel. He is my baby, knows he's my baby and acts like my baby, period.
I lost my little 14 yr old chiuaua/pom mix, Renny Penny (Ren) to salmon poisoning last year almost to this very day. He is greatly missed.

I have a miniature schnauzer "Oscar"....such a great dog. It took me 5 years to get another dog after my last one died. Oscar was a gift..and is a great companion. I was raised with a dad that said if you have a 200 pound dog he will love you for life. If you have a 200 pound cat, he will eat you.... hmmmm...I guess we know why I never had a great urge to get a cat.

Angel is five. He was found in the gutter with his eye horribly injured & infected - only a tiny kitten. His fave toy is a dinosaur, so naturally he likes Dino best. Sheowl your beautiful Binky is my lovely Lola's long lost brother. Lol was fired from her job as a vet clinic cat because she chased the clients, without regard for size or species. Trees, I also have a maltese (Buffy), who hates having her photo taken almost as much as she hates flying. She must have screamed herself hoarse the first time she flew, not even a yip for the next day or so. Are all maltese such stressheads? Rockbeast that is one cool bird!!
