Oh Cheza it was on adult swim, It wasn't Bebop it was , ugh I forget. I suppose like anything else . If you pick up the story part way it doesn't make sense. I had to watch alot of LOST first season to get caught up, now I enjoy it. It was something with an "N"

Don't tell me it was Naruto. I can't stand Naruto. Some of my students love it, but it's more for kiddies...they usually show it like early in the morning as the AS lineup ends...Naruto gives me a headache too.
Bebop will come back on Sept. 17 allegedly. You should try it. All of the anime are pretty much serialized...i.e. like LOST...if you miss an episode you may be lost...especially if you come in during the middle of a series. For example, AS is showing Fullmetal Alchemist right now, but it's pretty late in the sequence and you would be totally confused if you started watching now...They just restarted Blood Plus last night. Tonight was the second episode...so not much has been revealed in it yet...other than the fact the girl, Saya, can slay these huge monsters with a sword and a bit of her blood (on the sword). That reminds me I need to post about Blood Plus here...haven't done that yet.
I actually caught a Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex I hadn't seen the other night. It was so good it almost made me cry...this older woman was talking about these two kids who were given the "shells" referenced in the title (cyber bodies - to keep it simple) after a horrible accident. The older lady had their childhood shells sitting in a car side by side. She was telling the major (the female leader of Section 9 security team) about the two tiny bodies, which were (according to her) some of the earliest shells ever made. Something in the Major's expression let me know that the little girl's body used to be hers...especially because she went back to the lady to hear all of the story the next day.
When the little boy who occupied the shell in the car came around to acquiring his cyber-body he realized the little girl who tried to be his friend was the little girl that had been in the next bed...in his childlike innocence he had shouted at her he would not have a cyber-body if he could not fold paper cranes for the girl who died in the bed next to him (Perhaps this is a reference to the story about Sadako and the paper cranes)...at which point the little girl ran away crying...later he realized the girl hadn't died...the young girl he yelled at...the one with the cyber-body...she was the girl. However, when he went to find her, she had changed "shells" into a more mature form. He found her old body and brought it and his old one to this lady to preserve their safety. That way the two could be together.
I almost need a tissue just thinking about it.

www.adultswim.com/schedule/Here's the latest draft of the Adult Swim schedule...so far it still has Bebop. They goofed on Blood Plus though...there are not 100 episodes of it...take the first two numbers off each episode number on the weeknights and it should be right. I didn't realize they were going forward on Saturday with it as well! Looks like Bebop will take over Fullmetal's slot...these times must be for the eastern time zone...so Bebop will be at midnight if you're in the central...10 if you're in the mountain...and 9 if you're in the Pacific...I think. Geography never was my thing, but Inu Yasha is on now and it's almost 1 a.m. here.

I don't enjoy Naruto. I haven't really given it much of a chance. I don't like the animation of that one and I never did catch the point of the storyline. *Enter Naruto fan to tell me all about it now...that's someone's cue methinks*

Artzylady I so wanted to watch Jericho but that was on as the same time as something else i wanted to watch and I had to make a choice over the two. It was hard last season to pick what shows to watch. I didn't want to spend the whole day glued to the tv. I am still waiting for LOST and Ugly Betty to come back on. And that is almost unbearable. :-) Jilly Well, here's hoping you can see it this year when it comes back on. If not, VCR or tape it or watch it online at CBS innertube. They actually do count the times people watch the episodes in full. I can guarantee you'll be hooked once you watch the pilot. BTW, its free at itunes to download.

Hey Artzylady Welcome to the thread. A distant cousin of mine is also hooked on Jericho...unfortunately I was the one to break the news of its initial cancellation to her and she was heartbroken - so I'm sure that she is over the moon that it is coming back. Thanks for the welcome. I've been so busy working on the Jericho campaign that I've been gone from MC.org for a while. Your cousin and all of us are absolutely over the moon that Jericho has been given a second chance. Like I told jillywilly65, try it out (online to get caught up) and then on Friday's 9 PM (except for this week because CBS is showing a preseason football). New episodes will air in the new season midseason or before when CBS can find a spot for it.

Jill. Bebop is the one you should see, if you can. It's great. Cheza. I hope all is well and school is going great. I watched disc 5 yesterday. I enjoyed it. As you said, the writers may have felt a braek from the drama was needed, but I still enjoyed it. Session 19: "Wild Horses" – In the beginning, I noticed the three bad guys named George, Herman and Ruth. Babe Ruth’s full name was George Herman Ruth. Shortly afterwards the mechanics working on the swordfish were talking baseball. Just another thing that they cleverly snuck into the show. Spikes buddy owned one of the space shuttles. That was wild. Session 20: "Pierrot Le Fou" – I liked this one a lot. Very strange. The bad guy—I think they called him "Mad Pierrot"--had that insane laugh that reminded me of "The Riddler” on the old Batman show, but a lot better. Most of it took place at night which added to the freaky mood. I liked this line: “No one who’s ever seen his face has ever lived to talk about it.” And another good line: “He appears with a smile and leaves with a smile.” On the lighter side, lunkhead was a popular word in this episode. I liked this exchange: Ed: Faye, Faye! Faye: My names Faye. Not Faye, Faye. Ed: Faye, Faye. You have some mail…” Faye: Don’t tell Spike about this. It’s our secret. Okay? Ed: But why? Why keep secret? Faye: Because if we don’t, that lunkhead…. Then Spike walks in. ;D Another funny part was when Spike was lying on the couch, all wrapped in bandages and Faye leaves the orange peel on his forehead. ;D Session 21: "Boogie Woogie Feng Shui" - It was funny how Spike and Faye kept wondering if something was going on between Jet and the young lady. Session 22: "Cowboy Funk" - I guess Andy wasn’t the smartest guy in the world. Faye didn’t seem to be very impressed with his apartment or cooking either. I liked the part when Spike heard someone approaching who was whistling and he turned his head, expecting it to be Andy, but it turned out to be one of the old dudes. So I guess I’ll be heading over to the video store to rent out "Cowboy Bebop: The Movie" as you recommended. Should be a good one! In my prayers. Peace

As for "Wild Horses" you're exactly right - an obvious nod to Babe Ruth...just as we had Huey, Dewey, and Louie in another episode - which are the names of Donald Duck's nephews. "Mad Pierrot" is correct. He kind of freaks me out, but with the whole amusement park business and all it is true - he's very much like the Joker in some ways. I love when Ed calls her Faye, Faye ;D ;D ;D ;D Faye ABSOLUTELY HATES that...almost as much as she hates it when Ein answers the video phone I also like how Jet mandates no smoking while the girl is aboard the Bebop in "Boogie Woogie" ... which poses a problem for the rest of the crew (minus Ed and Ein of course) since they all smoke. I have got to track down that Andy video to share with you. It's TOO FUNNY. I loved the dress Faye wore while he was wooing her though. I wonder if she viewed him as a way to pay off all her debts since he was loaded...hey, I hadn't thought about that. I know Spike was not thrilled about having all those cans of his stew or whatever...but Ed was happy...but isn't Ed ALWAYS happy?!?! ;D ;D ;D ;D I hope you enjoy the movie. Then it'll be time for the end...but let's not say too much about that out here in the thread...we wouldn't want to spoil it for any others who may take the Bebop journey. The final sessions are entitled, respectively: "Brain Scratch" - Faye's in trouble AGAIN and the boys must save her... "Hard Luck Woman" - as the title suggests this is an Ed & Faye episode... "Real Folk Blues Part One" - The beginning of the end where the focus returns to Spike and his checkered past with Julia, Vicious, and the Red Dragons...and the final session..."Real Folk Blues Part Two". For those interested in catching Bebop (albeit possibly slightly edited for TV in places) it will (according to the schedule) be returning to the Adult Swim lineup on Sept. 17. It will run weeknights Monday through Friday in the slot currently occupied by Full Metal Alchemist.

I FOUND THE VIDEO! I didn't know there's a Web site just for anime music videos until tonight - it's not online for streaming, but I downloaded it and I'm putting it in my photobucket. The song is Liam Lynch's "United States of Whatever" - a G.W. Bush parody...with Andy as Bush This won some AMV contests for comedy. It's formatted for Real Player...instead of Windows Media Player...

Let's try this...video from Cowboy Bebop, music by Liam Lynch, created by David McKeen...Click below to see "Cowboy Andy's Universe of Whatever" starring Cowboy Andy as G.W. Bush, Punch from Big Shot as Colin Powell, the doctor as Putin, and Vicious as Sadaam Hussein...oh, and Osama Bin Laden as himself. I hope this works. Enjoy. I've embedded it on my old (seldom used anymore) xanga. Click here: www.xanga.com/R_Dorothy_attempts_to_be_Cheza

Cheza. That video was awsome!!!! That Andy is much smarter than I thought. "Whatever" kind of sums it all up in respect to G.W. Bush.
Is "xanga" a website you built for yourself? It's cool.
Talk more later.
Peace, CJ

Cheza. I watched the movie last night. Another great one. Now that I’ve seen it, I’ll have to go ahead and buy it. I want my set to be complete. The three old dudes were funny as usual. A good part was when the crew finds out that Faye was exposed to the Lymphocytes and cowers away. But when they hear an announcement concerning a huge reward for the capture of Vincent, they all start gawking at the monitor. That was great. ;D Another part that I liked was when Spike says, “Why does my leg feel so heavy?” And then they show a longer shot and it’s Ed hugging his leg. ;D The music was great and I really enjoyed the extras. This was the first time that I’ve seen the voiceover people for Spike and Jet. It's time to order disc 6. Peace

I love the Andy video!!! Xanga is a weblog. I used the basic format they have for layout, but the background graphic is one I made using a modified image of Roger & R. Dorothy on the balcony at Roger's house from Big O and Cheza's face (which I put in the moon since she is made of lunar flowers). I'm glad you enjoyed the movie The old dudes ROCK! Huge reward + hapless bounty hunters = PRICELESS. Good ol' Ed hanging onto Spike...also PRICELESS. I'm so glad they put those extras on the movie! The extras were the first time I saw any of the voice artists' faces. I really like Kanno's soundtrack for the movie too. I think they used some of those songs for the video game, but alas, they've decided not to release the game in the states. Now for the end , which actually includes Ed in...*GASP*...A DRESS in the session "Brain Scratch"!!!!!!!!!! Evidently, some of my students watch/have watched Bebop. Methinks some of them are a bit young, but some kids don't get much supervision on what they watch. The seventh graders were more into InuYasha - and for the most part except an occasional four-letter word - that's fairly appropriate. They also like Full Metal. They went nuts when I told them that I like anime during a getting to know you session last week...and the ones who knew EVERYTHING about InuYasha started enlightening those who didn't. I had to work to get them back on track! As for the Bebop...It's time for the home stretch... See you Space Cowboy.

Cheza. I think your weblog is interesting. I’d like to read some more later. I ordered disc #6 and The Movie from Amazon yesterday. So perhaps I’ll be able to see it by the end of the week, although I’m not in a big hurry since I know it’s the conclusion. I think they were smart by not attempting to stretch out the series like so many others have done. Many shows overstay their welcome. Seeing Ed in a dress is going to be strange. Thanks for the advance notice. Yeah, I don’t think Bebop is really meant to be viewed by kids. That’s one reason I’m hesitant about lending the discs to my brother. I’m worried that his kids may see certain scenes that aren’t appropriate. Apart from the fact that they may use my discs as Frisbees—their DVDs and Playstation discs are all scratched and mangled. Talk soon, CJ

I agree, some shows drag on too long. I'm hoping that's not what is happening with LOST. As long as it's still interesting and not just plodding on without any point...it will be okay. Some of the other anime series have a TON of episodes. The longest running one that I have watched being InuYasha (clocking in around 160 or so plus four feature movies), and I wasn't really satisfied with the ending the creators provided. Ed in a dress with Jet posing as her dad dressed in a suit.... Bebop is not for the kiddies. Someone once told me Full Metal Alchemist was shown on Fox Kids at one point and I can't imagine that - it gets pretty brutal and violent in places. How was it someone put it when writing about when Adult Swim aired the Bebop movie? "Faye boobie was not deemed appropriate, but Electra side-boobie was." It was something like that anyway... Take care and enjoy the final four. Peace.
