IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!! Cowboy Bebop will return to the Adult Swim line-up this coming Monday (Sept. 17) - I saw a commercial for it during Full Metal Alchemist tonight. It looks like the time will be midnight if you are in the Central Time Zone...1 a.m. if you're in the Eastern...11 p.m. in Mountain and 10 p.m. if you're in the Pacific Time Zone.
Go on...you know you want to watch...it will be slightly edited for TV most likely though.

You should watch Bebop if you get Cartoon Network/Adult Swim across the pond. It's soooo good.

NOTE: I just looked at the [AS] schedule, and it appears they are only going to run through the series once + running the first four sessions again after the run-through before it is pulled again!!! So catch it while you can folks!!!!

Everyone who hasn't met Spike Spiegel...tonight's the night...don't forget. It looks like Adult Swim is only going to give Bebop one run-through before switching the schedule up again...*ugh*. I don't remember when the BK contest winner is running their selections, but the rumor is that will be a night of three and a half hours of Trinity Blood!!!!

You should watch Bebop if you get Cartoon Network/Adult Swim across the pond. It's soooo good. I get cartoon network, but I've not noticed it on there, I'm not really into Anime (I hope I've spelt that right!) but I know Art's brother is, so I've kept an eye out for him. Will keep looking Cheza - I'll have to find out about the two DVD's we bought him - he really enjoyed them, we only watched one episode of the 2nd series, there was a big robot and a tribe (who wouldn't accept help) I don't know if that's of any use to you, but will find out & let you know.

I wonder if you might be thinking of the large suit of armor in Full Metal Alchemist as a "robot"...the Ishballans in that are resistant to help. There's a pic of Ed & Al (the armor) earlier in the thread.

Nope, wasn't that - it was a robot not someone dressed up - forgot to ask Mike on Tuesday. I remember some kid being in hospital, lots of gangsta' type stuff. I don't know if I'm even making sense now! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hmmm....interesting Dawn. It's not ringing bells with me right now.
Friday they should be showing one of the best sessions (that's what the episodes are called keeping with the jazz music theme) ... "Ballad of Fallen Angels" - peeps, if you're only going to watch one...watch the intro of Vicious. It ROCKS!

Hi Cheza. I hope your well. On Amazon, there's a animated series called "Samurai Champloo" that's getting real good reviews. What do you know about this one? It seems awfully expensive. Peace, Joe

YAY, Jilly! Last night was "Jammin' With Edward"...I forgot how HILARIOUS parts of that one are. Chicagojoe, Champloo is the next one I was planning on discussing here, but I haven't had a chance yet! I have parts of it, but not all yet. You're right that it is a bit pricey. I think that is because it is a more recent series, perhaps. I'm actually thinking about going as Fuu (the female lead for that series) for Halloween (I'm tired of being a witch, a devil, or a vampire)...I was planning on being Kikyo from InuYasha, but when I asked one of my sophomores who she thought I should be from an anime series she said Fuu...and I hadn't thought of her. I'm way too old for her, but I can make my hair (with a small ponytail - it's a bit short) be hers and hers is always UP...whereas Kikyo has EXTREMELY LONG black hair. *I ramble and digress* - Champloo is very cool. Watanabe, the director of Bebop, is involved in Champloo as well...as is the voice of Spike Spiegel. He's the voice of Mugen on the English Dub. Here's a pic of the leads from Champloo. I'll try to get around to writing a synopsis for you in the coming days...from left to right, Jin, Mugen (the one "Spike" voices), and Fuu... Trivia: In one episode a woman tries to poison Mugen...she is voiced by none other than Wendee Lee (aka Faye Valentine)

I just had to pop in to say that an anime that hasn't aired on Adult Swim will begin doing so next month. It's called "Death Note". Here's the synopsis from the show's official site:
Shonen Jump DEATH NOTE is a suspenseful mystery, inspired by a 12-volume manga counterpart (published in North America by VIZ Media), and follows the adventures of Light Yagami, an ace student with great prospects but who is bored out of his mind. All of that changes when he finds the Death Note, a strange notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals mysteriously begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal - or his life?
The unique storyline and complex characters, combined with visually stunning animation by Madhouse, made Shonen Jump DEATH NOTE one of the most popular anime series in Japan and anticipation for the North American release has built steadily since VIZ Media first began publishing the manga series. Shonen Jump DEATH NOTE also spawned two successful live-action films, set for domestic distribution this year by VIZ Pictures, and a plethora of related posters, toys and action figures. VIZ Media will further release Volume 1 of DEATH NOTE, containing 4-episodes, on DVD on November 20.
