After reading all the glorious reports about the Viper Room concert I am thrilled that the CBGB concert will also be a very intimate "party"!! I was told The CBGB Club holds about 200-250 people so eye contact with Marty will be easy... Those of you wishing for another closeup LH headliner concert should buy your tickets to the 2/14 concert now....I just called and was told there are just 77 tickets left..c'mon Marty/Lovehammer fans, no need to hesitate, let's make this a sold out show!!!!!!!!!!
...I am going to this concert alone (traveling from the hometown of the Superbowl-bound Steelers) cuz I know there will be mc.org sister (and rockbeast) fans there to keep me company. Also, wendyc122 is trying to setup a dinner get together before this concert (so PM her if you are interested). Fans like myself who are going alone, I think we should stay at the same hotel so we can go to and from the club in a "safe" pack. I am told the Howard Johnson is within walking distance of the CBGB Club and is reasonable for NYC...pm me if that sounds like somthing you want to do. See you in NYC on Valentine's Day.............

The Howard Johnson's is reasonable, especially compared to other NYC hotels, it's close to CBGB's (walking distance of about six blocks), and in a hip, up-and-coming part of town. This show is going to be UNFORGETTABLE!!!!!!!

I am going!
Still neeed to work the details - accommodations and flights - the Howard Johnson's site is giving me a high rate per night, so I might need to look into other arrangements.
Please share any ideas, information, etc... that you may have. :-)

I think Rockbeast is staying at a hostel at a much cheaper rate and posted the link for it...should be in one of these CBGB threads somewhere... I am happy to say that I am officially going!!! Got the time off from work and a room at Hojo's and just have to wait for my frequent flyer miles to be redeposited since I'm not going to AC. I am soooo excited and can't wait to meet you guys...oh yeah, and those guys that will be on stage

Pretty much have my plans all set and am so looking forward to this trip.... Special thanks to mondegreen....for ordering that ticket for me while she was getting hers.... Count me TOO!!! I also had a hard time with the site, it kept switching to the Radison So I called 1 (800) 446 - 4656 or (212) 358 - 8844 this is the number for Howard Johnson on " Hoo - stun" (thanks Wendy). The rate for 2 double beds was $149.00. Not too bad. Looks like CBGBs is smaller than the Viper.

Anyone else interested in the HoJo ... for some reason (don't ask me why) we pronounce "Houston" like "How-stun" (rhymes with "Cow-stun"). If you get into a cab and say Hyoostun, the cabbie will know you're not local, and may take a circuitous route ... most of them are totally honest, but you never know ...I once had a cabbie whine about how he always got small tips, and then he stiffed me five bucks when he gave me my change! Needless to say, I count it now before I get out.

Does anyone know what time the Lovehammers play at CBGB's? I got tickets for my daughter (who lives in CT) and a friend. She is trying to plan her work schedule. Also if you wouldn't mind, when you decide where ya'll are going to eat, if you post it I could relay that info to her she may want to eat there as well. She loves asian food. If you wouldn't mind that is. She has mc.org wristbands that I sent her when I got her tickets to the Moghegan Sun. So she can be identified... thanks Sharon

The show starts at 8pm, but there are opening acts (Neal from Rockstar's band Bona Roba, and others TBA) so not sure when exactly Lovehammers will do their set.

Hi sdbrins,
Sure, the more the merrier for dinner! I've started another thread under the Tour Talk heading just for coordinating it. I think we should call it "HammerFest" ...

I am trying to muster up enough courage to make this show! So are most people staying at Ho-Jo's? As it is now, I will be alone....

Hi Stephd,
Several people will be staying at the HoJo's and a bunch of us are planning on going out to dinner before the show ... are you nervous about coming to New York? Please don't be! It's going to be an amazing night, and CBGB's is legendary! You many not get another opportunity like this.

I think there are a few people making the trip by themselves. I couldn't get any of my friends to go with me, but, I'm not letting that stop me. And, I'm coming all the way from California.
