After seeing close to a hundred concerts in my lifetime, I went into "retirement". Many shows have come and gone in Atlanta that I would have liked to seen, but didn't feel like getting into the "cattle herd" that always happens in hallways and bathrooms. But when Marty Casey came to play Atlanta, I was willing to deal with any thing that came my way, and never have I enjoyed a concert as much as I did last night. The show in Atlanta was incredible!! You could feel the entire room vibrate. I especially loved when they sang Johnny Cash's "Burning Ring of Fire" - I wish they would record it!
I was on my feet the entire evening (INXS was great too!) despite the burning in my thighs and abdomen from dancing for hours. The only thing that would have made the evening better is if the Lovehammers closed the show, instead of opening it.
After the show, the band sat for hours signing autographs and meeting the fans. The line was so long that when you finally got to them it had to be short and sweet, but well worth the wait! Truly a band that is appreciative of their fans and willing to take the time to show it.
My only disappointment was that cameras were not allowed so all the pictures I took on the sly had to be without a flash, so I got very few that are worth keeping. Of course, it's not like I don't have Marty's face burned into my head anyway. I did get a great shot of Bobby at the end of the night which thrilled my 12 year old god-daughter who is a big fan. We scurried out the door before someone confiscated my camera.
Well, this 47 year old is back in "concert retirement" until the Lovehammers roll through Atlanta again. I don't think any other show could compete with what happened last night. For those of you who have tickets to up-coming shows - be ready to ROCK!!

Thanks, cherrygoop! I agree with you. Someone once asked me if I could go to just one more concert, who would it be? Bowie? U2? Prince? They all put on great shows, but from now on my answer is really simple: LOVEHAMMERS!

The Atlanta show was amazing!!!! The band rocked and the crowd was totally into it. There were dozens of people wearing Lovehammers shirts. I met so many fantastic Hammerheads from all over. Meeting you all was as good as the concert itself!I could go on and on and on - lol, but I'll just write highlights so I won't bore you all: * Bobby's drumming on Ultrasound is beyond compare. You can put Live/Raw in and crank it up, but you have to experience it live. * Some guy got on stage during the 1st or 2nd song and started "dancing" next to Marty. It was nuts. Marty just laughed and shoved him off the stage and the guy was soon escorted out by security. * I tried calling polarfan, but an usher about grabbed the cell phone out of my hand so I had to hang up. I was able to take photos though so hopefully some good ones came out. * Dino and Billy would trade places on the stage which was great! Once Marty ran into the crowd, everyone stayed standing throughout the entire concert He didn't have anything to climb, but he jumped up on a speaker? at one point. Dino jumped up on the drum stand? and I so wanted to get a photo of that, but the usher was right next to me. * The last song was "This Town" which I loved. Jeremy came out to play guitar. * Once the concert was over the same female usher was just uber excited about the show. When I was handing out postcards, she came over and grabbed one and was oogling over Marty saying he looked so different in that photo then on stage. I said - 'you're welcome to keep that ma'am' - and she did! I also heard her talking to the other usher about when Marty took off his shirt - lol - and also about what Rockstar INXS was all about. INXS * Truthfully, I was maybe in my seats for 3 or 4 songs, but I thought they were great. The band was full of energy. I thought JD did an excellent job at working the crowd. He made a lot of Atlanta references, and at one point started doing the beginning spiel for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". I was thinking - holy crap! I can't believe that an Aussie band with a sax player is going to that song! Who's going to be on fiddle - LOL! But they didn't play that song, JD just did the beginning. Whew - this is too long and I haven't even gotten to the M&G or about Street Teaming. I'm going to go pick up my photos (fingers crossed). I only had a disposable camera, but hopefully I've got some good ones to share.

GREAT!!! I was so proud of my city last night when I saw lots of ppl getting into the show and then lining up in droves to meet them at the signing. I did some street teaming just outside of where the signing took place, and it was so fun to see everyone so charged up to have met them (I could easily relate!!) I will post a review soon along with pics. It was an amazing night!

That's great about the Atlanta crowd . Just like Charlotte. The South is definitely hammered. They must come back very soon. PS - Too bad about the camera issues. They let us shoot away with ours. I could have brought in a TV camera and they wouldn't cared. We do have video of alot of the songs including Ring of Fire.

I was sooo excited to the lovehammers last night! they were just as incredible as i imagined they would have been!! Marty has amazing stage presence!! And when i got my autograph, i got a hug from Marty who seems to be just the sweetest guy in the world. Actually everyone in the band seemed to be really nice, i just couldn't seem to get past Marty....
I had taken a few pictures (hope they turn out) when a security guard came and told me to give him my camera, i put it in my pocket and shook my head no, and he said again and a little louder, give me the camera, i looked him right dead in his face and said NO. he said well if i see it again it is mine....yeah, okay......anyway, so i didn't take anymore pictures until the autograph signing. I didn't want to lose what i had taken, or get thrown in jail for assault on a security guard...lol... anyway, I met some really cool Hammerheads while roaming around the lobby while INXS was playing. Guys it was great to meet all of you and it is great to know that there are still people out there that appreciate great music. Radioclash, thanks for the bumper sticker and post card....i will be advertising the lovehammers proudly on my car so that others in this little area of the world can be exposed to some real music!!
I got home around 2am this morning and got up at 5:45 this morning and am at work now, but i have my lovehammers cd playing so it will be just fine!!! I can't wait to see them again!!!

Thanks for posting and sharing your review stephiehope2006. I am really proud of you standing your ground with security and not handing over your camera. Good thing you didn't have to fight the guy for it though might have put a damper on your Lovehammer experience. Boo mean security people. Sharon

Great News!! stephiehope2006 Glad to know you got home safely. It was a pleasure to meet you. Here are a few photos. I don't want to crash the boards. These are all from the M&G as none of the ones I took during the concert turned out well. As you can see Dino's hand is healing nicely.

I agree-great shots! The 3rd one of Marty looking up-you can just see the interest in his eyes as he talks to the person in front of him. So genuine-I love it.

Found one photo of the band from Access Atlanta the site for our newspaper: www.accessatlanta.com/entertainment/content/music/photos/0206/inxs/9.htmlBut no mention of the band in the concert review.... Glad you like the photos! I hope someone got some good ones of the band during the concert. Marty was the first in line for the M&G so I could hear what he was saying more than the others, and he was totally attentive to each person I observed. Looking up or at least saying something. And at the start he was popping up to give lots of hugs.

BEYOND AWESOME!
That is all I have to say.
Okay, first all, it was a Rainy night in GA and traffic was so out of the box crazy. I was ready in true LH attire. I had on my black and red!! and my MC.O wristband. We got there with 15 minutes to spare and the ushers didn't care about anything but our tickets. I had spent all this time trying to hide cameras and it didn't even matter.
The theater is very intimate and red and black ready for the Lovehammers. It as velvet seating and is more a theater for plays, so there was a balcony that slopped up and I think everyone in the house had a good view of what was going on with the graduated seats.
The lovehammers were Prompt! The unmistakable tribal beat hit it off and I was on my feet! "we control the radio..." Beat beat.."we control your stereos..." Beat beat..."why are we alive!" beat beat...beat beat...and it was ON!!!!!
The orchestra pit must have been drooling in their seats because they were right up in the house and Marty was showing them lots of love. It was some woman's birthday and he acknowledged her. He told us all that he didn't like the name of the album and NEVER forget they are and will always be the same Lovehammers that we all know and love!!!
You know what? He also told us that we were the hypest crowd! He said as good as or better (can't remember which) than vegas! He said he didn't even have to tell us to stand up and we were on our feet already!
Let me tell you something. Bobby broke down Trees to something I ain't never heard before. I felt like I was at a high school homecoming, our team was winning and the drummers were pounding out like "we will, we will, rock you!" but we were singing, "YOU and ME up in the Trees!" to the same type of drum solo. Dino was pitting liquiding out of his mouth straight into the air (I think it was liquid) and it was falling all around him like a fountain and forget about it, Billy's guitar playing was just too much! It was mad HOT!
Oh, that drum solo was the bomb, do you hear me!!
I was sitting near some people that I don't think knew who LH was because I knew all the words and I was singing and screaming and they kept looking at me like, how in the world does she know all these songs? BUT they were into it, they just didn't know.
Marty, always the gentleman, remembered to thank INXS at the end.
Okay, now to the bad stuff:
LH only played 45 minutes!
They played so well that I had to keep reminding myself, look at them! They are right in front of you!
They ended at 845 but we couldn't meet them till 1045! two hours man. It was hard to wait.
I have more about the signing coming up soon. The signing is where all the action happened.

Oh and the cameras--I'm sorry other people had camera problems. Everyone around me seemed to be snapping flashes like it was required rather than prohibited. We took photos inside the concert, but my boyfriend was so scared to have his camera taken that most of them came out blurry with his rushing.

INXS--JD is Gross
That's all I have to say.
He was full of sexual inuindo and raunchy crotch grabbing. Didn't he know that type of thing went out with Michael Jackson?
INXS was the bomb, though.
I didn't like the fact that They changed the accustics for INXS and made them louder. They also did some light shows on the stage. I look at it like this, if that's what you gotta do to compete with LH, no wonder you don't have them on the whole tour. It will be their tour by the time it's over if the LH keeps outshining them like this.
