is this a family event? I have a 3 year old and I am wondering if this would be something that would be ok to take him to. I'm taking my 5 year old daughter (she will be wearing her MCLH shirt) ;D She loves to rock to Trees, Casualty, and Clinic. It will be hot and crowded, and as the drinking goes on, it will get a little rowdy, but it is policed pretty good. Maybe we can get together and our little hammerkidies can play.

My daughter's First Communion is on Saturday, May 6th. Do you think she'll notice if I'm not there? ;D (Only kidding, of course.) I'll have to live the experience through everyone who can attend.

OK I reserved a hotel room just in case. I sure hope we hear something definite soon. I am anxiously awaiting my 1st Marty live opportunity.
I think it is getting harder to get nice rooms as the day grows near. I can always cancel the reservation if I have to.

Are there still tickets? I'm seriously considering a road trip, but only if my husband doesn't have a trip. Anyone out there want to come with me?

Yes, there are still tickets available. What state are you coming from Suzy? I would be coming from Missouri....it all depends on my husband's schedule, what about you?

You won't get a room downtown Memphis, most have been booked for a year. The surrounding downtown area will have them now, but going fast. This is a big event.

Yeah Vicki everything downtown was either booked or they wanted a months salary. Most of what I found reasonable was about 10 to 12 miles from downtown. I didn't think that was to bad. I was afraid if I waited any longer and then LH confirmed I would be stuck either in Timbucktu, a dump, for having to pay with my first born male child. I figure you can always cancel the reservation if they don't end up playing or you could just go anyway. Sharon

does anyone have a suggestion on a hotel that is decently close and not outrageously costly. my best friend and i am going. she is a big puddle of mudd fan!! thanks for any info...if you don't want to post here, my e-mail is sfrancis01@alltel.net just so that we don't clutter the board up with info others may not want to have. Thanks hammerheads!!!

I don't have any hotel suggestions, but we have always camped when we've been to this festival. There's nothing like sleeping under the stars after a day of great music! The weather usually is great, and if tents aren't your thing I'm sure that you could find a cabin to rent for a few days - probably cheaper than a hotel room in town. Just google memphis camping and see what comes up!

Hey Sharon...I've got to totally play this one by ear, I really won't know for awhile if my husband will be able to say home with the kiddles...but if you're passing through at the very least you could come kidnap me and take me along! I know of others planning a possible road trip as well...could start a convoy. If I can't go, your welcome to make a pit stop here for a visit! I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks for the advice and sharon thanks for the hotels that you sent. I am excited about this. I hope that the lovehammers do play but even if they don't i am going to enjoy myself. 2 other people have decided to go along with us so there will be 4 of us roadtripping from middle georgia (about 8.5 hours) to memphis no husbands, no worries.....and what happens in memphis, stays in memphis...lol. I am sooo looking forward to this and i have got several fingers and toes crossed that the lovehammers will be there!!! i almost can't stand the wait.......

I would love to go! My husband is looking to see if he can get off work. We will be bring our three kids--3.6.9. years old. We will be driving from MN. I am just waiting for the lovehammers to confirm. I hope that I will not miss out on the tickets. Does anyone know if there are other things to do close by for the kids?

I definitely want to go to this. I'm coming from Philly. When do we know if it's a definite for the Lovehammers to be there? It's on the MartyCasey.org website, but are you guys waiting for it to be on the actual Lovehammers website? To be honest, it looks like it would be a good time even if Marty doesn't play, but I would only make the trip if they were there. Thanks guys!

Okay, I am copying what I wrote about this at the other board! OH MY LORD!!!!! I have been to this festival several times and it is AMAZING!!! There is great cheap camping in Memphis and you see SO many bands and roam around and meet every kind of person there is to meet and there is great food and the it's right on the beautiful river and even if you don't like any of the bands you can still lay on the grass and blow bubbles and eat funnel cakes and look at the moon and soak up the good vibes. WOW! I'm there dudes... It is about 10 hour drive from Charlotte area, but I have always had such a great time at the festival, it is worth going to even if LH weren't there! Please let me know about the Camping thang, its about all I could afford after buying my plane ticket, I just have to figure out how to get my camping gear on the plane. LOL
