I have worked festivals before as a photo journalist with a photo pass for three different websites and also had pictures published in a couple of magazines, my best friend Chris is a professional photographer and I just asked him if he thinks there is a chance to get me a photo/press pass and possibly interview a LH....... I have 32 questions ready if we can set this up... wish us luck........ Cool, RB! I hope this comes through!

I haven't bought my tixs yet but it is really really likely that I will be there doing biz as well. And street teaming, too. And I think it will be for the whole sha-bang now. any radio stations for the Memphis area that we can start working on now? I can't be at this show but can help with radio efforts.

Oh, I will definitely let you know, Velvet! Hitting the radio stations is a must and everyone can help with that. We are working on getting stuff together to pass out now. I know that taxegirl is a little closer so I have been meaning to get in touch with her. Hoping for lh.com to be up soon...

Has anyone set up hotel reservations yet? I just did some checking and it looks like all downtown hotels are booked Friday through Sunday--duh!!! I knew I should have made a reservation when I first heard about this!!If I have to drive into downtown every day of the festival, I guess I'd rather stay far enough away where it's cheaper (if that makes sense). So, maybe W. Memphis (AR)?? I don't know, I'm still thinking about camping--there is an RV/camping park right downtown (Mississippi RV Park or something like that--although I bet that would be full too, come to think of it) and it would most likely be walking distance to everything. Time is probably of the essence--what's everyone else going to do?

Linda- Yes I have made reservations at a nice Days inn. Its 7 miles from the festival site and adjacent to the airport AND graceland. They have lots of restaurants and ammenities in and around the property and also an outdoor pool (which I might need if its in the 90s) Here is where I am staying Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. The total is 198 plus tax for 3 days stay. www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=14802&brandInfo=DISo far, I am the only hammerhead staying here.

RB that is so cool. I really hope that works out for you! Yes Memphis will know LH's are HOT!! We will make sure of that. I will also be taking all of the street teaming materials I have. Wanna make sure everyone is talking about LH's. ;D hammeredinmn hope to meet you we are name sakes ya know. linda I think it is like you said those staying downtown either had a really early reservation or are paying some $$ others are staying further out saving some money but working on transportation issues. I am hoping those who are driving in and have cars can help out those staying further out without cars. Since I will be flying in (no car) I will be staying downtown and walking around. I can't tell you how excited I am to see MCLH for the 1st time. And meeting all you other Hammerheads is just icing on the cake. I really am hoping everyone will be recognizable. Woo Hoo one month. Rockbeast, Have you ever been to Graceland? I was there in '01. It's a real hoot! Thought it would be a blast to stay at the Heartbreak Hotel! Nancy, It'll be great to finally meet you--can't believe I missed you at St. Charles! I usually take what I call "the back way" when driving toward Memphis, and cross into MO from Chester to Perryville, then just take 55 south the rest of the way. Where would be a likely place to meet up, do you think? I'm working on convincing my daughter to come. I've got kind of a small car, but I'm more than happy to help with transportation for those that are flying in! If our van didn't have 275,000 miles on it, and it wasn't a 600 mile round trip, I'd bring it, but that seems a bit risky........

And I want to THANK all the wonderful hammerheads who are driving in and "sharing the love" with the car pooling for us foreigners..lol

Hammerheadhubby is thinking of maybe getting more buttons for me to bring to this event. Rockbeast...we can sure use all the stickers that you might still have cuz we are completely out of em. Not sure if we have the funds at this time to reorder any but there is always a maybe there. We have a month to work on getting our street team items together. And if the matchbook order (that barbara is working on)comes in soon enough I will bring lots of them too.

For anyone interested in camping, check out the Tennesse State Park web page www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/or try a google search for Memphis camping We are staying at the Meeman Shelby Forest State Park. It is a BEAUTIFUL park with great tent sites, RV hookups and I think some cabins. They have trails and fishing and swimming and lots of cool wildlife and lots of stars at night. It is $16.25 a night for tent camping with electrical and water. Their reserved sites are gone, but they have 49 first come first serve tent sites that don't usually fill up until Friday night or Saturday. It is about 20 miles from the festival , but the drive has never been an issue. It just depends on what type of vacation you are looking for, right? Beale Street and camping just seem to go hand in hand for me, so I don't even think in terms of hotels. There are campgrounds closer I think, but I like this one - it would totally rock to have fellow hammerheads to roast marshmallows with at 4am under the stars - so c'mon! It's mellow, it's lovely, it's CHEAP!!! ;D

I am also planning on doing some street teaming while there. I am going to make up some more stickers, possibly some buttons as well. The clicky LH pen that I got from Melissa at the Charlotte show is great too - where can I make those at? Buttons might not be allowed in the park on account of all the "pointy-ness" of the pins, but they shut down Beale Street so that you can stumble around in the street, and that would be a great place to hand out stuff, especially an hour or so before the gates open on Friday... I am soooooooo excited!!!!!! Butterflynclouds, are you ready?

Shuckra, I'm totally on board with the camping, especially at a state park! (although I don't know how the rest of my traveling companions feel about it) But, I checked out the park you mentioned and now I'm confused about the first come, first served vs. reservations thing. It makes it sound like all 49 sites are reservable, so I'd be a little nervous about getting there and not having any place to set up. Here's what it says:
Of course, I guess there's one way to find out, and that's to call and try to reserve. Do you have reservations?

No I don't have a reservation - I have never reserved a site before, but I wanted all my bases covered this year, so I called today and the lady said that all the reservable sites were gone already but the other 49 sites were first come first serve. So i guess the resevable sites are not included in the 49? i was a little confused too. She also said that getting a space on Friday morning would not be a problem, so I am going to show up Friday morning and know that I will get a space...I always have had a good choice of sites too, maybe because it is a bit out of town, but by Saturday it gets busy.

Hmmm, definitely sounds like fun.....will have to touch base with the others coming with me to see what they want to do. Some people just don't do camping. I LOVE it, and the weather should be good. In any case though, we probably wouldn't get there till Friday afternoon. Thanks for the info! No matter where everyone stays, I can't wait to meet everybody!!

okay since you asked.....unless you are in the wedding party, or a relative (close), or it is for your best friend in the entire world (who should understand, yeah right)....I would seriously consider blowing it off. But then again...thats just me.
