My, my, my! I'm not the only one's who's been busy! It's looking really good! I can't wait to hear the end product! We do have some plans already in the works for Christmas, so when you are ready to release this to him, I would appreciate it if you would check with me, so that we can coordinate everything. When this is ready, we can assign one day in the activities for the release of this song from the fans to you-know-who.  Re Video: I could make a video montage of fan pictures with Marty, using the song as the soundtrack. It wouldn't be anything fancy, but it would put a face to the MC.org family. People could send me pictures of themselves with Marty (or by themselves if they've not got a pic w/Marty). This could be quickly made and ready for the release date -- if everyone gets their pictures to me in time. This is just an option I thought I'd throw out there. We will be having a "Merry Christmas Marty" thread. If we could have a "card" for him, that would be great! Alright, back to Santa's workshop for me! |

You are always so helpful and talented. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture montage thing!! That is an excellent idea. Also I was thinking the thread (not this one, the "Merry Christmas Marty"thread) would be 'the card' for him to read. That way it would enable everyone to say something and sign the post like they would if it were a card. And I do think a hard copy of the song would make a nice keepsake for him as well. Nice idea Rockfan. I like that. It also more aligns with our concept of a "group" effort.

A photo collage would still be one thing made by one person. It's just another medium like video. The collage, in order to be done right, would actually take longer than a video. The same photographs would be needed for the collage or the video.
Actually, no, I can't share what the Christmas plans are because that would spoil the surprises for everyone.

BG, since this was your idea to begin with, my vote is to follow your lead and follow through with your plans. If your plans will fit in with someone else's, ok, that's great, if not, that's ok too...there's enough talent and energy to go around here at the dot org and whatever is done, I'm sure the sentiment will be appreciated.  |

Is the only difference between a montage and collage that there is movement of the pictures? I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time). If I understand right at this time the song will be sung and played by HH, he will record it and send it to Bostongirl as an mp3, who will in turn share it with those of us requesting to hear it. So.....then we either post a link to it for Mr..u kno who or send him a copy(?). Well, the things I like about the montage idea is one, the combination of audio and video and two, pictures stir memories. It would stir memories of the past year and a half for him just as an added bonus. And I don't think it takes away from the song but adds to it. But.....I am fine with either. jmo Sharon |

Unfortunately not everyone has concert memories to share in. Some have never met any of the group and don't have any special photos to share. Others may not be comfortable having their pic posted on the internet. I am one of them. It would be a shame for that to leave people feeling left out of the excitement and the gift. Just another point of view

I agree with Wef and happen to be one of those folks who have not been able to share in the concerts and do not have those memories to share. When I started this effort, I wanted it to be something that everyone would feel a part of. But I also want everyone to feel really good about it and that their ideas were incorporated. We still have time to think about it. this is a great group and I am sure we will come to the right outcome

I too have yet to have my Hammers moments (missed them in Memphis and Missouri) and I try very hard not to give up too much info (that I could be identified by irl) on-line...I'm totally cool with the concept of it being a gift from the fans at mc.org. and if ye choose listing the screen names of those who's lines made it in...As for the video...*sigh*...Like I said, I haven't had my moments yet and I echo Wef's concern that some may not be comfortable posting personal pics online. Another possible idea...what if we gathered photos from where the fans live for a production with photos of you-know-who interspersed here and there as it plays...this would show how far the reach of the music is and where the fans live...which can subliminally say a lot about a person...Just a thought. This is just the first unfinished cut but looking great. HH - thank you, thank you....  As for the video idea, I would suggest that we stick with the current present. Not everyone is comfortable with the video idea, so let's stick with the original plan of card and present. Ceeje - thanks for the offer. Perhaps if we had more time we could have worked out something that everyone was more comfortable with. I will pm you when we are ready. Going to send the emails and then need to say goodnight. Hey HH... I sent a copy to my son, who isn't professional, he says he loved it for the first try. Also added that Platinum records we hear have started out like this one  I trust his ears. Also, I appreciate what you've done with all the input Wow!!! Getting excited to having other musicians and songwriters give feedback and input  Great job. |
