Boston,
Honestly I think your right...LOL..I think the blues come out even more so being a creative female.
Emotions are like the constant and endless rolling of the ocean's tides within our souls. We just have to learn to roll with them, and not fight the current. Fighting is useless and waste's energy we need for the real battle's in life. If we just go with it, eventually we break free and can swim off to safety and better things.
I know that both you and Feather, will have this sadness pass. I do hope it is soon.

Star - I agree. I have been working hard the last year to "roll" with things rahter than control them. has made life interesting to say the least.

I've just finished reading some poems from the past few days and I feel like I am in a very special place. I think I'll join in this poetry circle, if you don't mind. Poetry writing is quite strange and new for me, but I'm ready for the journey. First, I have to tell you some things...
~starcrossed, there is such beautiful, powerful energy flowing through you - congratulations on your publication news!
~sunflowergypsy, you are bursting with colours and images - so inspiring!
~bostongirl, I connected the most with two of your poems. 'In My Head' and 'First Kiss'. Whatever you are going through resembles something in me. Thank you for your poems!
My inspiration doesn't flow evenly or often. It comes in spurts and bursts. This is the first poem I ever wrote (Sept 2005). It sort of 'fell out of my head'. I woke up from a restless sleep and scribbled this on paper. I hope you like it.
Hot Moth
Still air, hot moth near the end. Weaving over and out of my mind. Bruised and blue.
Blackened moon. Paler tonight. Hope for an electric morning of new pages and sounds of silence.
Still here, expression in quick, soft eyes. Moist lash and softer, furious beauty Of a cool, distant drum.
Owl silver and frozen. Head sideways and surrendered. Knowing all and mounting no charge.
Hot moth, moist lash. Can I be still?
~Namaste~

Hi starcrossed & sunflowergypsy,
Here's another poem. This is entirely experimental to me. I get a particular image in my head and words swirl and form around it very quickly. The poem is usually ready in a few minutes. I try not to change it too much. I love the way it feels when this little process kicks in...
Piebald
sombre night, sour breeze colt’s nose humid and flaring one eye rolling and ivory wild flank twitching, tail whipping fresh hoof tamping and scoring a deepening rut marking the line of time tall grasses, no fences only snakes rustling towards dawn

Here's another one from me. STARS OF LIFE ____________ Raindrops fell upon his ice blue eyes...cleansing his soul of peace. Swirls of butterflies danced in his mind as he began to write down the words of love. Love of life and of the music of the misty night that surrounded him. As the stars glimmered brightly, he made a wish. A wish for love, peace and finding harmony with the young girl from his youth. Her zest for life gave him a zen-like existence. He would forever be greatful of experiencing her light and her love. They were like 2 stars in the heavens...forever connected! _______________________________________- Peace and Smiles Sunflower Gypsy(Shawna)

I'm so glad I took the time to read the most current 20 posts because some of them were from the vault and what talent! sensitivity!! all you poets..................sunflower and RJ....outstanding stuff! RJ - Hot Moth.........Wow! you really have a gift.......I could feel it all the way through = just racing to read each new line. Thank you for sharing Sunflower - Stars of Life gave me chills the good kind. You have A WAY with words, girl11 oH, OH, sooo goood - the words went right inside me and it felt so mmmmmmmmmm. There are no coincidences - I have been thinking about Marty the last few days after reading some interviews from him and listening to the CD and for the first time I really heard what he was saying about that girl, the one you spoke of in your poem. That you so much for sharing your work and don't stop writing, ever. A shout out to boston who is in FL. I had a wonderful week end. Lots of creative juices flowing. And to star, of the stunning red dress- Hey! I just pm'd you. Again there are no coincidence's. peace be with you feather

All this great writing inspired me to write a new piece. It is just a character. I thought about a pet bird in the old Victorian era. Locked away and wanting to be free. Reading a little deeper, the character became a locked spirit, who desired a life that she could never have.
Caged
I am a caged bird... No longer meant to fly.
You stand before me and admire my beauty, Tell me how you too desire to touch the sky.
I have no words that you can hear, My tears fall deep inside me after all these years.
The dam is almost ready to burst... Just living the life of a caged bird.
Set me free.
Let me fly.
I want to reach out, To be alive!
Can't stand the cage... Every moment I repeatedly die.
I want to soar.
I want to be me.
Not this small creature, That you have made me to be.
When I burst out, And get away from this cage!
I will never look back, Nor shall I want to stay.
My wings will spread out, Span across the entire sky.
I will resemble a Eagle, Look so stately way up high.
But here I am... Locked in this cage.
What is left of me, I can hardly say.
You look at me, Tell me all your dreams.
I am broken, Torn at my seams.

I was moved reading 'Caged', starcrossed. It connected me with the feeling of wanting to express myself, to really live with passion. Thank you for that on a dreary, stormy Monday afternoon here. It snowed last night and it's very windy today.
I wrote a poem about a year ago, while looking out at a similar scene to what I'm seeing out my window today.
March Meadow
Wind swirling in open field, with its own quality. Of devils true.
Rock staid on cusp of meadow, snow icing crevices. Cracks of blue.
Branch bowing to earth it knows, prayers for solace. On to spring.
Wind foiling prayers and passions, chilled bones of tree, longing to sing.
The poems I share with you here are my serious side. I've been having a lot of fun in the Fangirls thread - in Just Love Marty II - with the zany side of my creativity. It's very active at the moment. I sure hope the poetry starts flowing again.
~Namaste~
