Hello Shawna! LOL...I workout to hard to give into my cravings for food at night. I run for about 4 miles...or 6 on a harder day. My workout is a little more mixed these days...I add kickboxing, yoga, or dance warmups.
Thank you for liking my new poem. For some reason, I had this song pop into my head and I just put words to the music. If I could only play my guitar...LMAO I swear I still sound like I am killing a cat...LMAO

Thank you Iwo! How is you debut album coming? I hope it is going well! Thanks for asking, I'm working on few projects simultaneously, but number one right now is Chicago and state-wide music competition for my students. It's lots of work I love the line in your latest song/poem:...my heart from some five and dime company...It is clever and artistic at the same time

Hello Iwo! Thank you, I had fun writing it.
Wow! Busy as always...I know that you have a lot of work in front of you, but don't forget you have a right to your dreams...so make time for you! You have a talent for music, and you should share it!

Star, I read your poetry every so often and it is very sad. It must be very difficult for you in such a terrible marriage.

Star, I read your poetry every so often and it is very sad. It must be very difficult for you in such a terrible marriage. p12, The pain I suffered ...that was a long time ago. Another life. I have moved on. I don't dwell in sadness of my past. Even if many may interpret my writing as such. My writing is always a reflection of me...my past...my growth as a human..not were I live now. To dwell in the fire's of hell is to have respect for a new life given to me. That which I give God thanks for every single day. I don't hurt anymore. I just respect life and have more compassion than anyone could imagine for other's around me. I have no shame in what has happened to me. I will never pretend that it didn't happen at all. Why should I. The woman who stands here, is so much stronger for all that I have been through. All my psychology training taught me that most people reflect manifestations of insecurity and inadequacy onto other's. Somehow creating a feeling of superiority over who they feel is a helpless victim. In reality, they themselves have the true unresolved issue's with feelings of helplessness. I don't feel like being one of the statstics...I don't dwell. I don't reflect. I am happy in my life. Moreover, I am a better person for having lived through such sadness.

Sorry if I am getting too personal...but since you post your poetry in a public forum, I assume you want some feed-back. I am glad things are better for you, though honestly I don't understand your explanation. Your work says something completely different. This of course is not a criticism, just an observation...and as a writer you are free to express yourself.

I have no problem with people giving me feed back regarding my writing. I love it. Helps for personal growth as a writer. I encourage people to do so.
I am sorry that my 'recalling' makes you uncomfortable. Just know that I can 'recall' an emotion and not have to dwell in the sorrow.
The 'getting too personal' part...well, I can handle that. But I am not in a 'terrible marriage'...that hurt.

I didn't mean to hurt you, just wanted to show sympathy for your situation. I'm sure you could see how a reader could think you are writing about the present. I completely understand how putting your feelings into words could be therapeutic for unresolved feelings.

Here is a new one from me:
BLISSFUL
Sprays of deep purple covered the desert skies and cast images of love through out the valley.
A young coyote long in the tooth...as he was an old soul
Found a small cave to take shelter for the night.
The stars showed their peaceful faces on that blissful night of hope.
The sights and sounds of life brought contentment into the heart of the soul of the old coyote.
The core of his spirit was full of complete BLISS! _______________________________ peace Sunflower Gypsy

Just a random thought. I did see a circus set up in a local park the other day... Working Without A NetHigh above the crowd below, I see so many faces. I walk a thin rope... No net underneath me if I fall. I am trained... I am confident... I am in control. Slowly, I leap high into the air. I will not fall to the ground. I land once more without a care. Tricks performed, Over the course of a night. Life under the big top, With all the lights so bright. Most think I am crazy... That I would risk my life. Other's believe I brave... A modern day knight. Working without a net... I am simply living my chosen life.

For all those sci- fi fans...I received my Louisville planning guide and they had a 'Haunted Mansion' tour?...Thought it would be interesting to write something for that subject.
Phantom
I walk through the darkness of night.
No life around me, But my thought within.
The fog rolls in, Like a blanket come to life.
Feel the foot steps behind me.
Turn and don't see anyone on the streets.
Shadows grow across the nearby wall.
It is me, This I know.
Hear the wind start to blow.
Leaves billow from the damp concrete ground.
I feel it once more.
A voice calls from out in space.
An echo...I can see.
Something coming out of the darkness, Running after me.
Phantom of my past... Why do you follow me?
Run away.
Run faster.
Run from everything.
Shadows come to life now.
I am set to a faster speed.
Find the place of many souls, A place where I can seek company.
Turn around... Realize that the phantom is me.
Just running from reality.
