I know this thread was from a while ago but i just found it and had to post something. I've always viewed "Hold on " as an uplifting song, I mean when your having a bad day whats better than hearing Marty say " Hold on to your head when your heart is broken, clouds will clear and the sun will shine once again, hold on to my hand when you fell like jumping i will be here till the end of time . One day i was listening to it in the car and my friend said to me "thats songs kinda suicidal" i was caught so off guard by this but she continued to say " well isn't he saying - hold on to your HEAD when you fell like jumping . she had the lyrics switched. i had to explain it to her so she didn't get the wrong message. i was weird how we were both listening to the same song , but getting the exact opposite message.

I always sing "dance in my room alone" at the opening of Call of Distress, instead of "days in my room alone", I know the real words but they always seem to escape me. haha I do the same thing!! ok heres mine. I think ive posted it before buuuut I thought for the longest time "over and out" was "over endowed"

Just saw the Sleeper video on youtube. Had to go back and listen to it again. At the end does Marty say falling asleep on our dreams? All this time I've been falling asleep with Marty on a train.

Kenny Rogers - Lucille When I was younger, me and my cousin for the longest time thought he was signing - With 400 Children and a crop in the field when it really is With four hungry children

Driving Blind..... I actually think I have all the lyrics right, but I"m trying to figure out what they are saying at the end.
Is it: "It's the child in me" "It's the geography" OR something completely different???
Anyone have a clue?

I used to mistake "lost all hideaway" in Clouds for "lost a lot of weight", and my ex always thought "with a knot tied tight to last forever" in Trees was actually "with enough tie-dye to last forever". That one still makes me laugh!

I watched very closely while I lip-read what he was singing. (I am pretty good at that because I don't hear at all out of my left ear, and have found that lip-reading helps in noisy situations.) What I saw he was singing toward the end of the song seemed to be: "If it makes sense It's driving me, If it makes sense It's make believe." (repeated over and over.) Interesting!

JJ, I hadn't seen this post before today either, but that is what I hear too! I remember seeing Marty's solo shows here in Florida last year and paying close attention to those lyrics cause I couldn't figure it out from the cd (which I might add, I received the day of his first solo here, so I didn't have a lot of study time, lol). Wow - I cant believe I have not seen this before. I have been meaning to ask folks for a long time what they think the lyrics are at the end of Driving Blind. I have listened to the song over and over and thought the end was: If it makes sense would you drive with me If it makes sense would you believe in me Boston ears listening to a Chicago voice - doesn't always work

About Driving Blind....apparently, on the DVD, there is an option to watch with subtitles which puts the lyrics on the screen as it plays. Maybe somebody who has the DVD could try that?

Good idea, but unfortunately the lyrics are not on there for the very, very end of the song. So we all have been guessing. But that was a really good idea

Aww! I guess whoever did the subtitles couldn't figure out what it was either.
Try and add your misheard lyrics to The Archive Of Misheard Lyrics - kissthisguy.com, if you can. Theres no Lovehammers stuff up at the moment....that won't do! It's loading pretty slowly for me right now and keeps timing out, but I'll put some of mine up as soon as it starts working again.

But that was a really good idea For those of us who like the song and wanted to *play* it, the DVD was a godsend.........so I'm sitting there watching the guitar chords and reading the lyrics on the screen and pulling this song together and then we come down to the end........and it's like my face hitting a brick wall! I think BBE probably has it right, my guess was real close to that. HH

That one still makes me laugh! I thought the SAME thing about 'lost a lot of weight'....and I couldn't figure out how it fit in the song.....this thread is hysterical....I would love to see more lyric bloopers.
