Yeah...I am a guy....probably one of the few on here.....
I'm 38, married with 4 kids.....
Why am I here?
Simple.....I'm a fan....nothing more...nothing less....
I expose my kids to every type of music you can think of......I want them to respect the artistry, the skill, the emotions a good song can bring out in a person.....
My Wife and kids are Marty fans as well....me more so....I just like what I see in him and look forward to following his career........
He and his band I predict will reach the same status as a U2, or the Stones, and they will definitely leave Inxs in their dust....
later all....keep the posts coming......and have fun!!!
This is a place for friendship.....special moments....and gives us an opportunity to share our feelings and experiences.....let's face it...we're all Martyacs...
My thanks to the hosts.......If any web help is required....look me up.

'Nother Canadian here! I'm in Toronto! I posted my intro in the Intro's thread, but here it is again if you don't want to go through all those pages: I'm known as "hoodley" on the Rockstar MSN boards, and on some other message boards. I'm Audrey, 34, from Toronto. I'm single (and qualify as an older woman, right? ), no kids except my 18 year old Kitter Cat. I'm a pseudo-project manager. I love Marty's intensity on stage the most, it's what made me notice him amongst all the rest. Then I noticed his eyes and fell hook line and sinker. I love him for his offstage personality - thoughtful, soft spoken, mature... seems like a lovely man. And then I love how he transforms on stage and the intensity and the way he commands the audience Nice to meet y'all!

Hi there! Rockin' up in North Bay, Ontario. Am a 38 year old female. I own my own Art Gallery/Picture Framing shop. Love meeting creative people no matter where their creativity lies! I am an "eye" person and Marty's eyes spoke to me...I know that sounds corny but what can I do? I loved his performances, whether he was thrashing all over the stage or standing absolutely still. There's room for both types on one stage. Hope he keeps rockin' and takes those kick ass chances!!! A fan and nothing more...

Well us Canadian fans can call ourselves Smarties - you know after the candy that they don't have available in the US, only in Canada it seems. Plus of course we are SMART b/c we recognize the amazingness of Marty. So we are SMARTies Ok i'm a dork. I know. LOL

Hi from Kingsville, Ont. I am also a big Marty Casey fan. I am 50+ . I look forward to my Tuesday nights during the summer and will miss tuning into the show tonight. I was happy to hear Marty and his band will be the opening act for INXS and hope that they will tour in Canada . I have not got this exited about a singer in many years. I love his voice and I think he is smokin' hot. Good to hear from other fellow Canadians and others from around the world. Look foward to seeing you soon Marty!

Hey, I'm from Vancouver and think Marty is remarkable. That's why I'm here. To keep up on what's going on with him. Does anybody know if there is a site a Canadian can go to, to download his songs from the show? I think it's a good thing he wasn't picked for INXS....cause I'm sure he will go far on his own!

Yoooo Canadians, nice to see more of us here on the site. I am also 50 + and my son is just having a good laugh with me and my addictive behavour about Marty . I have gone through stages of listening to different singers during my life; Leon Russel, Quicksilver Messanger Service, Black Sabbith, Pink Floyd, The Doors etc. etc then when head banging music came out I went OUCH!! Now I'm back after listening to Marty rock Haven't been this excited about music in a looooong time. So there it is. Sitting on a Salt Spring Island between Vancouver and VI. Looking forward to Marty/Lovehammers/INSX to come to Vancouver or our new Memorial Arena (geez doesn't sound to big when you write it down) I'll check to see how many people it holds lol. Oh yea, Smarties sounds fun, I did enjoy Martinis though, just chose Tree Lovers cause I'm here sitting in the forest. Really love Marty's song Trees

Smarties - do you eat the Marty Ones last?
Hee - I like that idea... my secret name for him is Mr. Bright, because he is such a smart guy.
I'm in Toronto.
AMAI is short for AllMenAreIslands (but you would know that already.)
I'll come out of the 18+ forum every so often for air, and sunlight and a little regular chit chat.
PM me if the INXS Tour tickets go on sale, won't you?

Canadians - you rock! You are all funny and real, and I can totally relate to what each one of you is saying - just an echo of my own thoughts. I noticed there is already a franny on the board, so therefore I'm franny2 (as in 'too'). I live near Toronto, Ontario, I'm married with two kids and a puppy dog and I'm just plain happy with life. And this is the first time I've ever been affected enough by anyone to want to join a fan website. But here is the thing - Marty (and the whole Rockstar thing) have me so energized I just want to keep it going. I've already posted my thoughts about Marty in my intro (it's under the name of franny though, not franny2). But perhaps I'll explain myself a little further here. I've been doing a lot of thinking about why I find Marty so fascinating. Yes, he's sexy as hell, but that's not enough to bring us all here, so obviously there is more to it than that. (The philosopher is coming out here so be forewarned) My musings lead me to the idea that art and creativity come directly from the energy source of who we really are. To be a true artist is to tap into that energy and bring it out through ourselves to the physical world. Which one of us is not creative in our own way (and I suspect we all are or we wouldn't have posted here)? And when in the throes of our own creativity, which one of us has NOT ever felt inspired and energized by what we were doing? However you describe this feeling - excitement, passion, amazement - there are probably a hundred words that don't do it justice. I suspect that we all see this creative energy when Marty performs, and recognizing what it is, we are drawn like moths to a flame as we feel that same part of ourselves respond to it. Marty had some help of course; the whole package of Rockstar allowed us to watch an artist grow in a way that one seldom has the opportunity to do. But man, he took that opportunity and RAN with it. And it looks like he dragged us along! So yes, I can't wait to see what he does with this - I think he's discovered a lot of things in the past few months that are new to him too. As for me, I don't know how it happened, but the part of me that responded to Rockstar (and ok, particularily Marty) is making me feel reawakened and energized. So - maybe I'm on my own here (grin) - but can anyone else relate?

Hello fellow Canadians and Smartie Martini's. I'm from Vancouver and 53 (once a rocker always a rocker). Marty impressed me by not getting into any conflicts during Rockstar INXS and staying real the whole time. Besides being captivating and talented his inner beauty shines through and attracts good people around him. Our mutual love and appreciation of Marty Casey sets us apart. I sure hope Lovehammers tour with INXS because I've already joined the INXS fan club at $24.95 US just so I can access pre-sale tickets. I got so excited to hear Vancouver was the first stop on their tour. Lovehammers is supposed to make an official announcement today so keeping my fingers crossed. Hope to meet up with some of you at the concert.

Hello from Halifax. I'm glad to see so many other Canadian Marty fans. I started watching Rockstar INXS because I heard there was a Nova Scotian boy competing. All of my friends were voting for J.D. The first night I tuned in, I found J.D.'s performance underwhelming. Then Marty performed Take Me Out and I was hooked. I'm grateful to Mark Burnett and INXS for turning me on to such an amazing talent. I miss the show, but I've been getting my fix from all the Marty and Lovehammers tunes I've loaded onto my iPod. I can't wait to hear more from them. P.S. I'm a graphic designer. I love keeping up to date with the latest technology as it relates to my career. When it comes to entertainment, though, I'm a bit of a luddite. I finally bought a DVD player this weekend, though, just so I can watch the Rockstar INXS DVD when it's released. I haven't felt like such a "fan" since I discovered Bowie when I was 12.

Welcome J....I was born in Halifax N.S....lived in Dartmouth for awhile then moved to Ontario..... I knew it would be J.D....Marty could have taken that band to unreached heights....comparable to U2 and Bon Jovi.....but hey....J.D. is suited for them...and of course Marty and his mates will blow our minds......

Hello from a Vancouverite! Yeah, Marty rocks in every way. I'm 31 years old, single, femail, with 3 cats. I've been residing in Southeast Asia for 2 years working all sorts of jobs: freelance make-up artist, baker, and training & business consultant for my family's business. My work is almost done and I will going home to Vancouver next year. I'm so choked that I won't be in Vancouver in time for the INXS concert and see Marty Casey and the Lovehammers. I hope that the band will have their on tour and go back to Vancouver or I just have to follow them around. LOL. I honestly haven't been this into a rock singer in so long. Marty is a true to gift to all rock music lovers. He's got a special way of transcending his music that mesmerizes so many of his fans. I'm sure he struggled for a long time to get to this point. He even said in an interview that he hadn't taken much risks before and I'm so proud of him that he took at chance at competing to be the lead singer of INXS. However, I had an inkling that he was meant to stay with the Lovehammers. They are a brotherhood. Like how U2 has stayed together for so long. There are so many "made-up" bands and their music doesn't touch my soul. Marty's voice, the way he performs, the way he looks, and how he interacts with people is beautiful. He's just simply a beautiful person inside and out and I haven't even met him in person yet. Okay...I'm so gushing over him now. I just love him to bits and will keep on following how his band progresses. I hope he'd hire me to be their image stylist. I would love travel around the world with them.

Hi all, I'm from Toronto. I'm over 40, female with two little boys who wonder why there is only one person on that TV show (since I keep sneaking peaks are Marty videos whenever I get a chance).
Anyone going to the Feb. 7th show?
