I watched the pursuit of happyness last weekend and spent this weekend (well, yesterday) watching the Simpsons & Little Miss Sunshine. Certainly a giggle in both, little miss sunshine can have you in tears one minute & laughing your arse of the next!

Hi Dawn!!! I haven't seen the Simpsons but I have the other two. Pursuit was so frustrating at times. I kept thinking "how much more can this guy take??" Very good stuff :-)

That little boy is sooo cute I could just squeeze his little ol cheeks! I am such a cry baby, I cry for every movie. I will probably find something to cry at with the Simpsons movie when I watch it. ;-)

I watched the pursuit of happyness last weekend and spent this weekend (well, yesterday) watching the Simpsons & Little Miss Sunshine. Certainly a giggle in both, little miss sunshine can have you in tears one minute & laughing your arse of the next! I have had Little Miss Sunshine sitting around for weeks but have yet to watch it. I love Toni Collette and she is one of the actors in a movie I just watched...it also has a stunning performance by Brittney Murphy. The Dead Girl Five vignettes, all interwoven and all relevant. Its not a nice movie yet you can't stop watching. Its honesty will make you squirm and it doesn't leave you feeling leave feeling all cheery and happy, but there are moments in it that warm your heart and leave a tear stain on your cheek. A definite must see. The kind of film you need to watch on your own, or with someone who won't try and chat while your watching. Also just watched a film called Coffee & Cigarettes. Completely arthouse type film, a series of short vignettes that build on each other. Each part is just people sitting around drinking coffee, smoking and discussing anything that comes to mind. It has appearances by Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Cate Blanchette, Billy Murray, Jack & Meg White. Really cool film. Another film is Intimacy. I think its a french film done in english. Really good film but if you squirm at graphic intimate scences (mostly in the early scenes) then its not for you although the underlying message is stark and real.

Thanks for that info. I never even thought of Ebay for movies, then again I have never used Ebay for anything so I don't even know how to use it. I did hear that you have to use Pay Pal if you don't want to get screwed. :-)

Yeah, I think that's the best thing to do Jilly - I've never bothered with E Bay either - but my dad did - he was selling sunglasses on there a few years ago - it paid for a holiday for them! Well, last night I made Art watch Mulan, tonight it's his turn to make me watch final destination 3 - is it any better than the other 2?

I saw The Hoax this weekend. Richard Gere as Clifford Irving--all about the Howard Hughes autobiography hoax from 1972. I remember this when it happened. It was a big story.
Gere did a really great job in this film and he convincingly played Irving really well. Even though he doesn't look much like him, he was totally believable as him and had a lot of his speech patterns and quirks down.
I loved how they captured the early 70's in fashion, hairstyles, decor, mood, and music. It sure seemed authentic.

Crime and Punishment in Suburbia....and I kept it LOL
It was worth it. Indie movie, loosely based on the novel Crime and Punishment. Very good, but pretty heavy. Good soundtrack, too.
