I had my weeks messed up --it was Chanel first. So, interviewed pres of Chanel wearing MCLH t-shirt and black striped "marty" pants-- it was hysterical. They looked absolutely stunned that anyone would wear a rock t-shirt to one of their boutiques let alone to speak with one of their execs. At least I didn't wear converse shoes. Next day attended couture show and interviewed Karl Lagerfeld, but did not wear any Hammer clothes (although did sport my mc.org wristband.) KL was actually really cool and I kind of regretted not giving him MCLH cd (had it in my hand and changed mind about bringing it at last minute.) So to atone for lack of cojones, had brilliant conversation with guy today who not only works for Apple, developing iTunes site, but also is a DJ. Plugged LH like mad and he said "yeah I have their stuff, it's good." He thinks the band is selling well and that the biggest problem rock acts have right now, including LH is dowloading of songs wo/payment. Of course he works for iTunes, but I happen to agree. I got his email adrs and will send some more LH info to him. Next week Armani -- in Hammer-attire and with CD in hand. chk How exciting! I think you did quite well. You have a lot more cojones than most would in that situation - including me! Very interesting news regarding the iTunes developer/DJ. That's the second time this week I've read about rock music being the most affected by illegal downloading. I am really surprised to learn that, and a bit baffled.

just want to add that the Apple dude/DJ I met said that iTunes is going to begin a new program this week. The customer can get 10 songs for the price of 5. You choose five and iTunes chooses the other five. (as a way to promote new music, etc.) I of course said that LH need to be promoted thru this and although this guy has nothing to do with choosing which bands/songs are promo'd, I think it's worth finding out who in Apple does have some iTunes control as well as who at Sony/Epic can be prompted to investigate this on LH's behalf.

Speaking of iTunes, I'm noticing a lot of music podcasts have added "Trees" to their playlist as part of their SXSW broadcasts. Very interesting - but good news all the same.

that's cool, RC. I mentioned this in the marty's shoes thread (what a topic!) but it just occured to me that I have some connections in footwear industry so I will do what I can to contact Converse pr/marketing team about MC. It will take a week for me to even get started on this, tho, as my best contact is actually here in HK on business and so away from the Rolodex.....

TREES went up 5 spots from #32 to #27!!!! I used 3 cellphones to text in my votes during the Weds. Weekly Tally. The station was bombarded by my votes and said I was so in love with the band on the radio. Whatever. I wanted them to win! But yeah, I love their music so very much! I seriously need more Filipino fans to text in: Klite <space> 1035 <space> "Trees" by Marty Casey and Lovehammers and send to "2968" International fans: Please keep on voting on-line, www.1035klite.fm/index.php?strCategory=music_chart It will take a few days before the tally results are posted. Once it is, I'll put it up here. We all need to continue voting like crazy. It's the only way we can help TREES go up and become #1.

coolness, QP! I just had my interview with G Armani --very fun, but very short. (not him, the interview.) Did wear my MHLC shirt, which looked cool as the entire venue is completley black and everyone in Armani camp was wearing black or dark blue. I fit right in, albeit with rock edge, i guess. It is quite strange to wear this shirt while interviewing pres/coo of companies and asking serious questions. Fun though --and comfy!

Thanks for the update, Mia. That is awesome news I am so happy for you. chk - that is unbelievable! I really hope that photo comes out - that would be amazing! The LH shirt would probably be a great ice breaker at those events, too.

Spoke with my footwear person today, who is heading to China for biz. She says Converse is part of Nike group now and therefore hard to get thru to, but she'll find some contacts for me when she returns to NY. am back to practicing Zen-like patience. All together now, "Oooohhhhhmmmmm"

Thanks for the update.
At the Converse site there is a section with contact info for use by media personnel only. It sounded a lot more promising than a regular person writing in. My impression was that if you're not in the media don't bother contacting us.

I think you're impression is absolutely correct, RC. I will contact them thru media connection first and they will likely not be happy with me. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. I will also ask for an adrs/contact for the general public to use so that board members can let them know this is for real.
Also, went to HK Records today, which is kind of mom and pop shop, but quite popular. Asked them do they have MCLH? Answer no, who?? So I tell them, spell the name, etc. They look it up on their computer and both MCLH and MOMM come up. MCLH is rated 4 1/2 stars out of 5. So I say to the guy, you see? This is a really good band. Would you consider ordering the cd? He says only on per customer basis. i.e. if I order it, then I can have it in a week. I say, what if the band are playing in HK, could would you get the CD in then? He says, "are they coming? if so, maybe we can work something out...."
It's hard. I think a few things will help -- an Asian release date (maybe with that acoustic Trees we keep hearing about?) an appearance by MC on new RS:2 to plug self and cd (it will be worldwide again) and tour dates. Let's just see what MC means when he says they are touring EVERYWHERE, shall we?

Yup - you never know now that the CD is starting to get released outside North America. I'm so excited by that.
The Converse thing is definitely worth trying at least once. I really think that they're completely missing out on a great opportunity!

Only in its 3rd week on Klite 103.5FM Manila's New Alternative station, Trees is progressively climbing up their Weekly Tally Charts every week. From #27 last week to #23 this week, Trees is making its mark on Manila's rock music scene as a strong contender to reach the top. Once Marty Casey and the Lovehammers get to Manila, a special event by Klite awaits the kings of rock and roll--Marty, Billy, Dino, and Bobby. On it's 4th week on Y101FM The Rhythm Station Cebu, Trees has never failed to move up the stations Weekend Top 20. Last week it was #10 and now #5 and will soon rise above the rest. Trees will be #1! NU Rock 107 Manila will also feature a song from the new album. Frank Brew, the station's program director is deciding which song to plug in on their playlist and it won't be Trees. He wants to feature a different song from the album--a song that's louder, hard-driven, and gritty which NU 107 Rock is known for playing. RX 93.1 Monster Radio and 88.3 The Jam are two other stations in Manila reviewing the CD. Will let you all know what the scoop is soon. When the video of Trees is done, be sure to wait for its grand debut on MTV Philippines. Keep on voting! Hi fellow ASTers, Wow!!!! Great news about the ratings in Manila and Ebu. Great job Mia!!!!
I just voted at 103.5 and emailed all of the DJs at 101 to request Trees. They sure have a lot of DJs...LOL.
chk BFF...you have been one busy girl. Awesome!!
I'm going to be very busy the next couple of months so I won't be able to help as much as I would like. I'll keep voting and emailing when I can.
