It would be cool to hear the stories behind the tats on Tracii. I never really thought about the story behind tattoos until I watched Miami Ink and LA Ink. Those shows had me in tears often. That is a nice pic of Tracii, he has a nice smile. And he is a Hat Man , cool I wonder if he and Marty will have a Hat off?

I remember one particular blog (maybe a year ago?) that was followed with some very vile comments... fans ripping other fans a new one, being downright nasty, verbally attacking one another. That was ugly and I would hate to see something like that happen again. Maybe it has happened since then. I hope not... but that's the one I remember. I do understand why verbal bashing isn't tolerated. Yesterday's comments were mostly positive, though. I didn't see anything hateful or vile. I saw some anger, but I think it was to be expected. I worked in advertising for many years and after that, I was a publicist. I spent a lot of my time trying to generate some buzz and stir up some interest in X product or Mr. Whoever... make them a household name. One of my clients was upset that a local rag had a somewhat cutesy nickname for him... but he sucked it up and dealt with it because his goal was publicity... and a certain amount of negative publicity and controversy is a good thing. At least people were talking about him... and that's a whole lot better than SILENCE and INDIFFERENCE. That's why I think silencing fans who aren't brimming with love for Marty Casey is a mistake. Ask yourself WHY they have an opinion. People don't have opinions about things they DON'T care about. Most artists (musical, visual, whatever) would tell you they don't mind it if their work (or actions) inspire love OR hate... as long as it inspires something passionate and honest. Very few artists want the response they evoke to be NICE... because nice is BORING... and boring just makes people lose interest and move on to other things that are more interesting. NICE & BORING don't fill sell tickets and pay the bills. I'm not advocating slanderous attacks and threats of bodily harm, OBVIOUSLY. I do believe in the value of debate, though... and the value of controversy. For those of you who are so devoted to SUPPORTING Marty right now... please keep in mind that a bit of controversy is often good for the bottom-line... and people don't argue about things they don't care about. If you're really interested in SUPPORTING this man's career, you should be more concerned about people NOT caring enough to argue about him or make snarky comments about his blog. You should fear DISINTEREST, not DISSENT. Thank you for the opportunity to see things from a different perspective. You made some pretty good points and I appreciate your boldness in doing so. Cheers

What a shocker. after being MIA for awhile to come back to all this silly stuff. I loved his blog, I love Marty. He has a right to do what he thinks is best. We are not living his life for him, HE is. The LoveHammers are still intact, Marty is taking a leap of faith, which is his right and it might be the greatest career move he has made. I like the loveHammers but sometimes you have to take a risk before things get stale. Never heard of the "GUNS', but if Marty wants to take a chance with them, then that is ok with me. If Marty is with them , then I like them already. I think he has better taste than most. I would love Marty if he were to join the Osmonds, or the PussyCat Dolls. Marty is Marty, a rare, wonderful, caring, talented person and I for one am cheering for him ALL THE WAY. And if you do not like Marty, then what in the heck are you doing here anyway. Ceeje Love your post, and computer dummy that I am, I like the personal quote at the bottom, which I will try to insert, if I can. love you gals even the neggies.

Valerie, I certainly would not want to scare anyone away. I'm sorry if you got that feeling.
This person "who wants to drive people who support Marty away" was the first to come over here and post a review of the first LA Guns show, and also to post the first pics from that show of Marty and LA Guns.
So this is a great place to come if you want to follow Marty's career with LA Guns. Hopefully people who go to other shows will also stop by with their reviews and pics.
Please stay and enjoy yourself.

HY...Lynn is it ? Nice to meet you . I haven't wanted to be as absent as I have been , but life kind of got in the way . Thanks for what you said . I am not going to leave . I don't want to leave my Storyteller . Does anyone here know what a Bard is ? Marty , along with two others called Sting and BONO are such people . BARD : storyteller , vocalist , poet , musician, healer . They were considered as important as kings and queens . They were also trained to keep all records in their heads . Only a few written pieces exist today .
I know some people have mixed feelings toward him now . That is their right . It was also Marty's right to take care of his life as is best for him . I would not expect him or anyone to live unhappy , unfulfilled , just to please me . That is not love .Marty called hmself weird . I call him a unique , creative individual who needs to have constant flow in his life , creative juices flowing all the time . To wake up and feel IT everyday .
I hope he never goes away . I also hope that four life-long friends can work through this and be LH once more . If not , I will not stop supporting him no matter what direction he takes . He does not need my permission to live his life . The only person he needs to answer to at the end of the day is Marty .
PS I agree ....he is one hot man !! If I was only 10 years younger .

Hi Henry. I agree with you. I like reading the blogs. It appears that someone is afraid of the criticism, though. It's a shame that all comments were disabled despite the fact that the majority of the comments were positive. When I make a public post, I'm aware that its public nature means that some people may publicly disagree with what I write. It's all part of the interactive experience... taking the crunchy with the smooth. [/IMG]
It is possible that the comments were disabled as a response to the debacle that occured on an earlier blog, where people decided it to use it as a forum to be venomous and hateful to each other. I don't think its criticism that someone is trying to avoid. Crunchy is all good. Rancid is just...vile. As for this blog...loved it. I totally dug the "new adventure" vibe of it all. Yep he has been on tour before we all know that. But this is a whole new series of firsts that he gets to celebrate. In a new context the things that used to be taken for granted are fresh and able to be experienced again. I love that feeling. I know that it is making him feel good and inspired and it is bringing good things to his performances and to his sense of self...new perspectives bringing new insights [/IMG] ...love it.
Well said, Palari! In regard to the "blog comments of hate", I can recognize rancid, too.....even when it doesn't sign its name. The psuedo-officious sounding BS that tries to dress up hate as merely criticism is easily identifiable, especially since it's been directed at me so many times before, both publicly and privately, for supporting my friend. At least I have always had the guts to sign my posts, and take responsibility for my own opinions. Indeed, I find my "rancid detector" is going off again lately. I loved Marty's blog, and don't have a problem with saying so. Supporting a friend isn't "ass-kissing". He has earned my respect, support, and friendship over the last 3 years. I respect and treasure him even more than ever now because he IS taking the high road. He is doing so not because he's clueless or unaware, but because he CHOOSES to. The new songs are breath-taking, and it's clear his creativity has kicked into high gear. I am so excited for him! GO, MARTY!!!!!

Hey Nancy. I know your comment wasn't directed at me. My quote is included in your post, though. I understand why you were using it and Palari's response to make your point. I just wanted to clear something up for the record, though... lest anyone assume from the inclusion of my quote in your post that I am one of the "rancid" anonymous posters to whom you refer. I commented on Marty's blog yesterday using my own Blogger/Google ID along with my photo. When I state my opinion, I do it openly. I don't hide behind a fictitious name. Just wanted to make that clear.

I agree. I'm glad he still shares with us even though there are times he gets so much criticism thrown at him. He's not afraid to still share his feelings and adventures. Hi Henry. I agree with you. Haven't seen you around in a long time. I like the peanut butter analogy. (Really, is there anything better than peanutbutter? Praise to George Washington Carver). I myself am a smooth girl. If anyone handed me all the crunchies that they hand Marty, I don't think I could handle it. I agree that some crunchies are good for perspective and building, but some go beyond just crunchy. I think that there are some that just will never agree with what he has to say (or has done) so why read the blogs anyway? I guess I am just sick of all the constant judging and ugliness. Again, I could never handle this kind of judging - maybe that's why God didn't give me a good singing voice. So, what've you been up to?

I've only read the first page of this thread so if this was already answered, sorry... Nancy - I have never been able to respond to a blog here. Did you ever figure out how to do it? I had registered once to do it, forgot my log in, etc. and now when I ask for a reminder I don't get it. I can't even do it anonymously. I just gave up.

Hi Henry! If you had a Blogger account or a Google account, you could log in that way. I have a Gmail account, so if I was logged into my Gmail, I was automatically logged into Blogger when I clicked on comments at the bottom of Marty's blog. If you don't have a Blogger or Google account, you could register a username and password to post a comment. The comment feature on Marty's blog was removed, though... yesterday or the day before. (I have a crappy short-term memory.) The blog's on his Myspace, so you can still post a comment there.

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I ended up doing - the MySpace thing. My memory - along with my techy talents - suck too. Way too many passwords and logins for this girl to remember.

Yeah. I hear ya. If only I could use julianah and 123 as my password for everything, life would be so much simpler. Edited to add: I haven't been able to get into my Photobucket since last month because I have forgotten either my username or password... not sure which. If anyone sees any of my old animations or avs still kicking around on this board, let me know if you can see my PB username when you click on it. If I knew I had the right username, maybe I'd be able to figure out what password I used. I miss my Photobucket! Lots of good stuff in there.

Julianah, do you know the email account that you set up the PB account with? You can request your password be sent to your email account. If you're not sure about what email address you used, I would just make a list and go through all of them. (I've had to do this a few times, lol.) A lot of your animations are at Hammerhead-Grafix: www.hammerhead-grafix.net/avatars_julianah.htmlHope this helps. ETA: Give the link above time to load. There are A LOT! lol
