RS:Supernova Wk 8 Reality, Performance and Elim.

ah, the performances. It really is getting harder and harder as nearly everyone can really sing and perform at this stage. I gotta say tho, Bye-bye, Patrice. There's not much mystery to elimination this week, is there.
I watched this show with a couple of teenagers and it was interesting to see/hear who and what they reacted to. It was especially interesting because we all liked the same things!

Patrice -- wake me up when she's gone.

Magni -- great song, so so performance. I really don't like that thing he does with with his hand --gesturing for the crowd to get more into it. If they're into it, that is unnecessary.

Ryan -- far and away the best this week. Great song, great performance. The teens loved it so much I had to rewind the video so they could watch it again.

Storm -- once again great voice, okay performance. I'm kinda with Gilby on this --we need to see something special --besides calling Dave a bitch, that is.

Dilana -- her worst performance and ridiculous outfit. The eyelashes were a joke, the clothes were like Bad Witch Stevie Nicks and the singing just, meh.

Toby -- I actually loved his arrangement of Layla. Thought this was a fun performance and really one of his best. The shirt hting made me laugh tho --very Mig.

Lukas -- a song I really like, but I was yelling at the TV "turn around a nd face the audience, Lukas!" Felt vindicated when SN told him the same thing. Have no idea what TL meant by "check please."

my top three: Ryan, Toby, Lukas
my bottom: Patrice, Dilana, Magni

I thought they all had very strong performances tonight. My top 2 favs were Ryan and Magni.

Oh, and Chopper was so cute, too.

I was wondering what TL meant by check please too...did he hate it? Or did he love it? I think Ryan deserves the encore...and I agree he has that scowl ...I think he's extremely intense... Then comes Toby...then Lukas...then Magni...Dilana..Storm...Patrice

hmmm, maybe they will eliminate TWO tomorrow! nah, they probably want 4 left for the finale.

any guesses on order of eliminations from now on? here's my guess...
1. patrice
2. storm (although i love her! i think they are losing interest in her)
3. lukas
4. final 4 - ryan, dilana, magni, and toby - with dilana being the winner. (she wouldn't be my choice, but i think that is where they will end up.)

I also think they might go with Dilana. I would have bet on Lukas at the beginning of the show. Ryan is the one I prefer, but think he might be better off without them!

Here I go-this week was really hard, because no one really bombed it.

Magni-I really thought he was going to make me hate this song. It's not one of my favorite Nirvana songs, but he did all right. Not Cobain good and angsty, but all right.

Storm-Not bad. Aerosmith is hard to do, but it wasn't awful.

Dilana-yuck. I thought she fell flat. Not gut-crushing horrible, but one of the worst of the night. And the eyelashes? I don't know what annoyed me more about those-the shocking pink color or the black things on the end of them.

Patrice-Good! I actually liked her, but lackluster. Typical run-of-the-mill stuff.

Ryan-You look so angry, but you've really come a long way. I thought his song was good, but I didn't get where the end of the world comes into that song.

Toby-Sorry Chk, but I didn't like his arrangement. He's with Dilana in my bottom of the night pool. I love the way Clapton sings "Layla" in the chorus, and I didn't feel that from Toby.

Lukas: Oh, my dear Lukas. I love your singing, your sardonic arrogance, your mohawk, your jacket, your eye makeup. I just wish I could see that smartass smile more often. While it was cute that you were singing and fixing your hair with Rafa's guitar, I want to see your face, not your ass. The rest of you is awfully short(shorter than Brooke, for chrissakes) so let me see your adorable smile more, dearie.

Encore-Lukas or Ryan.
B3-Toby, Dilana, Patrice. Going home-Patrice. And I just started liking you.

Magni-Sigh.. Gasp.. Love everything about him except.. he's just not that entrancing as a performer.. Great guy..hot.. good voice.. he should grab my attention, but he doesn't.

Storm-I'm done w/ her.. I don't know why.. She bores me.

Ryan-He did very well performance wise and showed Magni up a bit. I hated the song.

Toby-Sweet Toby.. Hot Toby.. All I remember is his shirt came off. What did he sing?

Dilana-ummm I'll skip this one

Lukas-So he didn't sound bad, I'm just not a fan.

Can I just say how muchn Ryan is growing on me? I didn't love his song, but I thought he was really good.

Patrice actually looked pretty this week. And her song didn't suck. She should join the GoGo's.

I agree with DG...all I remember about Toby was that his shirt was off and he was hot. Who cares about the singing.

Dilana is really starting to piss me off. Especially after the reality show. Storm is getting old too. Magni was good, but he is not long for the show, either.

Lukas....I think he is losing his confidence and that's why his back is turned. Just my two cents.

I say Bye Bye to Storm...she is irrritating me with her facial expressions and her performance.

Dilana and Lukkas are my fave's....Lukkas moves all over the stage..his movements kind of remind me of Mick..I think he is an awesome performer..Dilana is amazing....her voice is so unique. I think they should pick the two of them and have a 5 pc group!

I compared Ryan with Greg Brady at the beginning of the show..but he has really shined in the last few weeks..his performances have really intensified..and I loved his original song last night..I thought it was great and so was his performance.

Patrice is really talented and a great performer..but kinda in a Sheryl Crow type of sound.

OK, the performance ep has just aired here in Oz.

Here is my personal opinion of tonights show.

Patrice, didn't like her song, boring just as she is, have felt nothing for Patrice ever since ep 1.

Ryan, still don't know about him, OK tonight, his own song wasn't bad at all.

Dilana, I thought she did a terrible job of Every Breath You take and deserves to be in the bottom 3. I am actually getting tired of her and her voice, she doesn't have enough range in her voice to be versatile enough for a lead singer in my opinion.

Lukas, I honestly don't know what the SN boys see in Lukas, he murdered a fantastic song, no-one can sing that song like Brandon Flowers of the Killers. Lukas deserves to be in the bottom 3 IMHO.

Toby, actually really liked him tonight, so much energy and he took a risk changing around a classic song and he pulled it off OK I thought.

Storm, I am sick of looking at her! That poor little puppy dog face she puts on really me off, bottom 3 for her.

Magni, I think he is the dark horse as well as Ryan, he was sick for rehearsals but did a great job tonight.

I agree, Marty blows all of these people out of the water. Nobody seems to sing from the gut; they all overthink everything.

Aussiefan, your comments about Dilana's range are right on, and it's not only her vocal range, it's her emotional range as well. And those eyelashes were ridiculous, especially for a song about watching someone. Her eyes lost all their power with those insects attached to them.

Much to my surprise, Ryan is growing on me, although I still can't help but think he looks like he should be a dentist.

Storm annoys me. Cut out the macho crap, b-otch! Good voice, but again, she didn't get the emotion behind the song. Really makes you realize how good Steven Tyler is.

Dave was right about Patrice ... she should do a solo act. Sheryl Crow wannabe.

The rest were all okay. But I still haven't gotten chills from anyone, or wanted to watch anyone's performance again.

I loved Magni and Ryan this week. I thought Patrice was cute, she's so gone. Dilana was yucky. Lukas winked again and I hate that so it ruined the song for me. Toby EVS. Storm was good but I want to see her crazy eyes again.

I can't wait to see what horrific torture SN will inflict on us this week and which Rocker will have to endure it. Maybe they will get Brooke to roll around on a car or something, that's sooo 80's right?

Ryan was surprisingly good. And I thought Dilana was surprisingly bad. Did anyone else feel uncomfortable when she was singing her own name during Every Breath You Take?! I wonder what Sting would say about that!

Lukas just irritates me with the whole Billy Idol/Mick Jagger thing. Didn't he say in the first episode that he wasn't a poser? Yeah right!!!

Toby may stick around for a while, but I don't think the guys will ever pick him for Supernova. Tommy's ego is too big to share the stage with someone who very well may attract more girls than himself.

I happen to like Storm and Magni. They both have strong voices and sing in tune, as well as good stage presence. We will see what happens.

Someone on the boards once suggested listening to them sing without looking. I tried that last night, and it really is amazing to experience it that way (like we'd listen to a CD). Storm and Magni are definitely the best singers of the bunch. Vocally, they kill their songs. I like Storm's stage presence, and Magni's isn't that bad (although it could be better, but he could work on that.) I don't think the others have the vocal chops to be a great recording artist, without some serious technological enhancement.

I love what wendyc122 said about Dilana's "insects"!! That was perfect! It really did take away from her performance, as did her Cyndi Lauper outfit, IMO.

There have been only a couple of performances that I have wanted to watch twice.....that's sad really. I still have all the INXS shows, and watch Marty all the time....poor SN, no wonder they're starting to sell tickets now!

I thought Patrice's song was okay, but she needed to STOP SMILING!

I thought Magni was surprisingly good this week. So was Toby.

Storm was okay. Dilana was okay. I was extremely unimpressed with her chanting her own name. That really turned me off.

It's getting harder to pick a bottom three. My choices would be: Patrice, Storm and Magni. Send Patrice home!
